  1. OMG! Another fan of Bela the man instead of just Bela the Dracula actor. I always thought he was so handsome and charismatic (and his son is too!). I envy your collection of memorabilia and your contacts with his fans.
  2. I was a huge Chamberlain fan too! I loved him in Shogun and Thorn Birds. Has anybody read the books? They're great. Shogun by James Clavell, and The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough. I've read several of Clavell's novels, and I want to start reading McCullough's other novels.
  3. About the wonderful smell of new crayons: I always loved that too. Taper candles smell just as good. I don't burn candles any more because I have overly curious cats (singed whiskers), but I keep some tapers in a drawer so I can take them out and smell them once in a while.
  4. I plant red salvia every year. Also like to use mixed color salvia (white, purple, salmon). Salvia likes sun. My yard is part shady, but the flower beds get about eight hours a day of full sun. (You can grow it in a pot too, on a sunny patio.) If you keep the dead salvia bloom stalks trimmed off, it will look better and bloom more. It keeps blooming until frost.
  5. Menopause gave me whiskers! GRRRR Hisssssssss
  6. Wasn't that girl-in-the-room thing scripted? She could have been hired to play that part. Even if she wasn't hired ahead of time, she would have had to sign a release before the show could use any footage of her. Somebody commented earlier that she was filmed leaving the room empty-handed, not even having a handbag. Totally unrealistic. That sounds like a scripted, rehearsed thing, where they were doing several takes trying to get it right. That means she would have received a paycheck for her participation in the show. (Yes, I'm very cynical about this family and their show.)
  7. That sounds like a good plan. He can have some peace and quiet to concentrate on his work, far away from the Kardashian circus.
  8. That's awful. First you try to go into denial by saying things like "but I just talked to them a few days ago," and then it sinks in... they're gone. It always makes me livid when a drunk driver survives a fatal accident he caused.
  9. I appreciate all the information on wigs. My hair has gotten so thin I'm considering a wig myself. Like others, I've lost a lot of scalp and body hair (barely have to shave my legs any more) but have that dreadful chin and mustache hair. Ain't middle age fun?
  10. Absolutely. It also proves (yet again) how much Kris loves a money-making opportunity.
  11. He's done that before. He'll be back. He needs to promote his overpriced children's clothing line.
  12. In that picture, you can see that Kourtney has a much nicer, better-proportioned figure than Kim. If Kim hadn't gone hog wild with the butt injections, big boob implants and other alterations, she would still look that good too.
  13. Gorgeous! Those flowers look prettier than hers, and the price is much better. Maybe that's another one of those "distressed" designer outfits. Comes pre-stained with faux baby drool.
  14. Poor animals. They don't understand what happened when their "person" is gone.
  15. Kidney disease in cats seems to happen pretty often, regardless of breed. Two of my Heinz 57 cats died of it. They lived a long time, though; one was 12, and the other made it to 17 years, the oldest cat I ever had. Both were torties. I love torties.
  16. Exactomundo! I was just posting over there the other day about how the thread was so warm and friendly, like a 24-hour neighborhood diner. Just goes to show you can't take anything for granted.
  17. I got the vaccine. (Over 60.) I had chicken pox when I was 16, horrible case, so I figured I could get shingles. My husband had shingles on his face (temple area) many years ago, and he still has dark discoloration on his skin. He was lucky it was not closer to his eyes, because shingles can damage your vision. I've talked to a few people who had shingles on their torsos, and they said the pain is terrible; some of you here (other thread) have also described the pain. I know the vaccine isn't 100% effective, but I hope it protects me. That's the same risk we take with flu shots and pneumonia shots -- not 100%, but a lot better than nothing.
  18. Heehee, those doggies have an attitude. Let's go, Sparkly Snarkers! Menopause, shingles, other illnesses, husbands (does a husband count as a chronic illness? lol), cute babies, our pet pictures... all allowed here.
  19. They'll never come across as individuals in their style, because their joint style standard is "Show as much T&A as possible." Especially the A part. They copy each other and try to outdo each other in showing their privates. For example, Kourtney and Kylie are both wearing "underboob" tops now.
  20. NBC paid all that money to get Megyn --- for this??? She starts off going straight downhill, interviewing the Kardashians.
  21. Maybe she won't be heading back to Malibu -- she might be headed for Washington, D.C. She's considering running for office, maybe Congress. Nothing definite, just something vague she said during an interview. http://www.cnn.com/2017/04/25/politics/caitlyn-jenner-run-for-office/ "Caitlyn Jenner: 'I would seriously look at a run' for office" "Caitlyn Jenner told an audience Tuesday night that she would consider running for public office during an interview promoting her new book. "Jenner, a Republican who came out as transgender in 2015 and says she voted for Donald Trump, told a crowd at the 92nd Street Y community center in New York City that over the next year or two, she will look at where she thinks she could be more effective: On the inside of government or from the outside working with her foundation... "... Jenner, an Olympic gold medalist who previously was known as Bruce, says for years she was approached after speaking gigs by fans urging her to run for office. She told the audience with a laugh, "I've got way too many skeletons in my closet," but now, she says she has no more secrets... Jenner reaffirmed her Republican leanings, saying that she's always "believed in something called the Constitution and limited government," and that the GOP leans closer to limited government than the Democrats, in her opinion..." Some articles I saw said she'd run for the Senate, but the CNN article didn't mention anything that specific. Whatever office she'd pursue, I'm not sure she would get very many votes from Republicans (or Democrats either, for that matter).
  22. Geez, how awful. "At one point, Jenner even turned the tables on Ripa, asking when she first identified as a female. 'Just think about that,' she said, pointing her manicured finger at Ripa. 'When did you know you were a girl?' " Incredibly rude. When people ask Jenner about her personal life, she often frowns, growls "Don't go there," and refuses to answer. Yet she feels free to ask Kelly such an inappropriate personal question, on live national TV at that! "Of course, Jenner wasn’t merely content being a guest on the morning show. 'I want to win the best-entrance contest at the end of the year,' Jenner immediately proclaimed upon sitting in her chair." Best entrance? I realize she was being sarcastic, but still, WTF? What the hell difference does it make how her "entrance" looked? Who does she think she is, Loretta Young coming through the doorway?* *(That's a reference other older people will get -- The Loretta Young Show. Each week, as the show began, she came swooping through the doorway in a fabulous dress.)
  23. I guess we'll be seeing video of this vacation on an episode of Keeping Up with the Kar-Trashy-Cans.
