  1. Until we see any proof of this supposed darkness, I will assume that Robin has no idea what he's talking about. As far as we know, what was his darkness? Stealing, okay. But he was doing that in rebellion to a tyrant. That's grey at the most, and probably only a very light grey - with all his talk of honor and codes, I'd be very surprised if he killed the people he stole from, unless they were soldiers. The point is, that's not very dark. Definitely nothing even in the same area as Regina. She's a mass murderer, a rapist, she burnt countless villages, and for what? For an insane quest for revenge on a ten-year old. Even if we assumed Regina had a real redemption arc (which I do not buy, but not the point), there are tons of darkness, and that can't just be talked away. So Robin saying he has darkness in his past, even comparing that to Regina's past? It's absolutely ridiculous, it's insulting to her victims, it's insulting to the audience, and honestly, it's insulting to Regina and her perception of her own guilt. (Well, the one the show tells us she has. Works fine with my perception of her). I think Robin just talked about his own darkness to make Regina's past sound less bad, so he doesn't have to feel bad about wanting her. "Sure, she did bad things, I did bad things, now they'll be good together." At least that way he doesn't have to actually deal with the fact that he loves a woman who has done absolutely horrible things.
  2. Fourth date. The girls were talking about Amy going on her third date with Dave and that it meant things were getting a bit serious. The third date was the one we saw where he started gushing over Sheldon, so this is the fourth.
  3. I miss Snow White... In season one, she would have pulled that prisoner trick herself, only convincing. But I can't blame Zelena, I totally get where she's coming from. How come she was the most annoying person ever when she was the main villain, the most obnoxious plot twist when she was revealed to be Marian, and now that she's only a side character she's becoming one of the most entertaining characters on this show?
  4. Do we even know if Emma is the one tree-ing people? I feel like that's been assumed but not actually confirmed, but I might have missed something.
  5. Rumpel wasn't evil at the beginning of his own story, but he was definitely evil by the time Merlin in form of the hat entered his story.
  6. When Merida was talking about how she was the queen, I thought "Kid, get off my screen. Elsa was a queen. You? You're a brat!" I honestly don't think Merida has brought much to the show (except for amazing hair). And now I miss Elsa again, she and Emma were great together.
  7. I didn't mind the episode, though I'm not impressed by Merida or her storyline. But I mostly liked Belle apart from her "Emma and Rumpel are exactly the same - though that scene gave us everybody showing that absolutely nobody but Belle cares about Rumpel's fate. And I think in both past and present, Belle was the bigger hero, not Rumpel and definitely not the character from a movie called "Brave" that needed Belle to trick her into facing her fear... Regina being motivated by somebody doing something as horrible as ripping out hearts will never not be precious. And by that I mean nauseating. I actually loved the scene between Emma and Zelena. Didn't care much about all the "Emma, you're SOOO evil", but I liked their chemistry and banter. I wouldn't mind those two teaming up. But seriouly, show, stop telling me how Emma is so horribly evil. What has she done that we know of? She took Violet's heart, she took Merida's heart and controlled her, trying to have her kill Belle - make that fail at killing Belle, because she needed Rumpel to come to the rescue - and smoke-teleport around a lot. Sure, ripping out people's heart is bad, but nobody blinks an eye when Regina does it, so I don't see how that makes her so evil. I'd get that they don't want to show Emma do completely evil things so they can redeem her later. But then they need to stop talking about how she is so evil that she's rivalling the evillest characters ever. It's like when they sent Regina to pretend to be evil and join the QoD last season, and they're horrible horribleness was to do shots and play chicken on the rails.
  8. Why? Regina has never had a problem with calling out other people. Only when it comes to her own actions it's always somebody else's fault, or because people have made her a "villain". And the comparison to Cora's actions isn't that stable either, is it? Emma didn't kill the girl. Rather, let's compare it to when Regina took Belle's heart last season. What Emma needed to do was to break Henry's heart - result was "Sorry, I don't really like you that way." All Regina had to do with Belle was to inform Rumpel that Belle is her hostage. Result? Rubbing Rumpel's face in the fact that Will Scarlet was a better kisser than him? Of course, Regina can do that and still be a hero. Emma? She's bascially Cora 2.0
  9. When they first said they needed the tear of lost love, I was so sure they'd break out Lancelot and get him to cry over Guinevere. But sure, I guess a teenage crush works just as well. That makes total sense. Also, interesting that Regina still says Cora wanted to do what was best for her child, paralleling that with Emma using the same excuse. Emma didn't do it for the best of Henry, to try to scare of a girl she thought unsuitable. She did it for the greater good and to get Merlin out to save everybody - from herself. As for Cora? Does Regina still believe her mother did anything that wasn't 100% for the benefit of Cora? Perspective, woman. Get some.
  10. I didn't think too much of it during the episode - I was actually too busy rolling my eyes at "Hero" Regina - but what I understood was that in the real world they'd need the blood of the savior gone dark, so maybe in bizarro world they need the blood of a villaine gone light? Of course, that doesn't make much sense either, that would have fit Lily much better than Regina (if Lily would have gone light in the AU). Or maybe I just made something up because it didn't make sense on the show. No idea.
  11. It's pity Nealfire had to bring him back. I thought it was a really good end for Rumpel's story, redemption through death or whatever the trope name was. Since they brought him back, he's been such a mess, it's not even entertaining anymore.
  12. Yeah, I'm not going to count on that again. I actually thought she was lying all the way back when she told Regina they were sisters - with everybody being related to everybody I was 100% sure she was just saying that to screw with Regina, and then it turned out she was lying. Not giving them the benefit of the doubt again. ...and I so called the pregnancy from the creepy meat loaf line.
  13. I think if I still cared about this show, I'd be really pissed about this episode. The Cruella stuff was fun, yes, but the main cast is getting destroyed more and more. Even with the little amount I'm caring, I'm still really disappointed in the writing for Snowing. They may pay lip-service to the fact that the whole egg-thing was wrong and unheroic - then turn around and say it was totally worth it, they're actually completely fine with it and would do it again. And still they're upset Emma isn't forgiving them? Or maybe they think they didn't really do anything wrong, and the question isn't why Emma doesn't forgive them but rather why she's angry at all, because it was what they had to do at the moment. They can totally join with Regina and her "I don't regret my horrible deeds because they got me what I want" attitude. Then again, the whole plot is just so dumb, I can't even... At least Hook is still pretty. But I'm slowly running out of other reasons to watch this.
  14. Sooo, I just remembered, Honorable And Good Robin Hood has the Dark One at his mercy and can bargain for whatever he wants in exchange for the heart potion thing... and all he can think of is "I want your son's apartment"?
  15. I think I don't even want to comment on the episode, except it does feel like a retcon, and if it was planned, then they're really, really bad at their job. But apart from that, and I'm not sure if somebody asked about it, and I SO hope that I got this wrong.... But what was Zelena's comment about a pot roast in the oven? Please tell me that was meant literally, and not figuratively like "bun in the oven", because Zelena is annoying enough, but if there's another pregnancy, I'm out.
  16. Well, no, of course Robin had the right to move on. That's for me not a problem. But his behavior was really bad. When Marian was back, he immediately proclaimed he would stay with her - not out of shock but because of his code. I don't think he even was conflicted, to me it seemed like he moved on completely - which, fine, it happens, not the problem, but shouldn't he maybe have talked to Marian about this? Because as it turns out she doesn't want to be with him if it's just an obligation to him. So he was unfair to Marian by not giving her that choice and by pretending to be with her completely, while he was still secretly pining for Regina. He was treating Regina badly, too. He told her he couldn't be with her, but then kept pestering her about why things were awkward between them, instead of just giving her space. No, he keeps following her giving mixed signals. And then, while Marian is frozen, he just forgets his code and hooks up with Regina. It's all just very douchey. Add that he doesn't seem to care at all that it was Regina who would have had Marian killed, and that he doesn't seem to care about Marian being frozen at all... well, it's all very unpleasant. But him moving on after thinking his wife died isn't part of the problem.
  17. Oh show, why do you keep doing this? I was actually pretty annoyed at the episode at first. The whole Outlaw Queen Drama and the way too contrived way to break them up, even though everybody was fine with them, and then Emma completely noticing that something was off about Hook - and just shrugging and going on with her business. And then, Belle. Never thought thiss day would come, but I cheered through the whole confrontation of Rumpel. Just amazing, redeemed her in my eyes. And then the Frozen glimpse, I really loved it and was ready to love the episode. And what do they do? Completely ignore Hook after what must have been quite an ordeal, have Emma go off to do shots and whine with Woegina, and then even more of Operation Braindead. The more they talk about this idiocy, the more I hate it. And now everybody is buying it. On what proof exactly? What hint did they get that the author actually influences the events? It all goes back to Regina once more looking for somebody else to blame for all her problems and there weren't any convenient ten year olds around. Can you believe that of all the people who heard about it, Snow was the only one who was sceptical and said something basically about making your own fate? Everybody else just bought it immediately. That won't make this nonsense sound reasonable, I don't care if every single character on this show tries to tell me the opposite, it's ridiculous! But hey, we can't end the half-season on a satisfactory note. Wherever would that lead us? ...then again, didn't help in 3A or 3B either, so what do I know?
  18. I don't know yet about this episode. There were some really good lines in it, and Elizabeth Mitchell was the best villain they ever had, but the Curse of Shattered Sight seemed somehow wasted. I didn't really like the Snowing bickering. It didn't really ring true. When Anna was under the curse, she said cutting things, but things that were perfectly in character for her - she didn't blame Elsa for freezing her, but for ignoring her all those years. But since when does Snow care that David isn't born royalty? Why would Charming secretly think she runs away from everything, when she's usually more likely to run into trouble? It felt just like bickering for the sake of bickering, not dark truths and secret emotions they would try to suppress. Oh, and while I personally adored Snow saying she's not sorry about killing Cora - because I'm convinced she has no reason to be - it doesn't match with the reaction we've seen from her after the fact. Snow was devastated, so unless not being sorry was so deeply buried she didn't notice herself, I can't believe that one either.
  19. I think that's a bit of a flawed comparison. It's like sitting in the real world, faced with a real threat and then going "I could either just wait for the horrible thing to happen, or I could try to go to the end of the rainbow and ask the friendly leprechaun there to solve things for me!" Sure, in general doing something is better than waiting for something to happen. But the "doing something" part should maybe be something that's even a little bit realistic, and the whole "find the author" plan is just so ridiculous.
  20. I had to laugh when Regina apologized to Henry abut not focussing enough on Operation Stupid Book Plot and instead screwing Robin Hood. As much as I disliked the Outlaw Queen crypt hook-up, I actually prefer Regina doing anything about her life insteadd of sitting around and whining about the book author. But seriously, did she maybe consider she should be sorry about not focussing on the Snow Queen? Seriously, it would have helped everybody if she'd stop sulking and tried to help with that huge threat for all of Storybrooke.
  21. Ah, right, I had forgotten that Elsa lost it. Thanks for clearing it up!
  22. I just realized, this locator spell really is a useful thing, isn't it? Pour it on something the missing person owned and follow the flying object. It worked out nicely with Emma. ...why didn't somebody suggest using that spell to find Anna? They did promise Elsa to find her sister, and even if none of the Charmings could have made the spell, couldn't they at least suggest asking one of their "redeemed" magic using neighbors for some help?
  23. True, that does make sense. Maybe it only seemed weird to me because of the earlier scene with Snow and Charming.
  24. The thing I hate the most about it (probably, because I hate it for so many reasons) is that Robin doesn't even seem to care the least bit about Marian anymore, as if he doesn't even like her anymore. She's dying, and he doesn't care. He's super happy to go off and have crypt sex. He's showing more enthusiasm about Regina's silly book quest than about Marian being frozen. It's fine for him to move on after he thinks his wife died. It's fine if he doesn't love her anymore. And it's also fine that he doesn't follow Regina's advice of "go and try to fall back in love with her" - you can't just fall in love with somebody on command. But even if he doesn't love her anymore, he used to love her. Wouldn't you think he'd at least be upset about her being frozen? But all Robin seems to see is that Marian's return seems to complicate his new relationship. ...huh, he and Regina really are perfect for each other, aren't they?
  25. I loved and hated this episode to about same ammounts. Love: - Everything Frozen. Just everything. The Anna/Elsa bond, the backstory on how Anna actually did urn Elsa, but Elsa never lost the love to her sister, Kristoff being snarky, Anna being adorkable, and Ingrid continues to be the most amazing villain. Psycho, of course, but that's okay in a villain. When she goes on about how everybody eventually sees her as a monster, we're actually allowed to think that obviously that is because she acts like one. Unlike Regina who we're all supposed to be sorry for. And I loved how she seemed truly worried about what would happen to Emma. And Elsa and Emma? Just perfect. I really wish Elsa could stay. Loved Hook's desperate phone confession, although I expected Rumpel to turn up at the end of it to taunt him. Well, he got around to that soon enough. Side note, is it my screen or does Rumpel have really, really yellow teeth? But I do like Rumpel as a villain, so I'm fine with that storyline. I'm starting to wonder if the sorcerer even exists, to be honest. The bad? Snowing sometimes just switch their brains off, do they? "Hook said he'll be right back and doesn't show again. ...nothing strange here." "Elsa has disappeared into thin air from that tiny loft. ...nope, we're not noticing that." "Our daughter has some rushed plan to take away her magic? ...ah well, if it makes her happy, definitely nothing we should talk to her about, she'll know what she's doing." (you know you're broken when Regina has to be the voice of reason) Special mention to Snow: "My daughter is in distress... let's talk about the affair my stepmother is having with the guy whose wife is currently frozen." "My daughter had an accident, she's close by and we can reach her. This is the perfect time to slow down and have some girl talk with Regina, not like we're hurrying to get to Emma or anything." "We might need Regina's help with whatever is going on with Emma... but Robin Hood has something to show her RIGHT NOW!!! (which - why couldn't that wait again? Did he expect it to disappear again?) Obviously this is much more important than Emma's wellbeing!" "I was a brat as a child, obviously this means I'm kind of evil. And killing somebody who tried to become possibly the most powerful dark magical being in existance with a huge grudge against my family, that is obviously horrible too! Sure, Regina did some more evil things, but that can be forgiven too. Cause she's come so far! It's been like a week since she wanted to murder somebody!" And everything Outlaw Queen ist just the worst. I do get that he moved on from Marian - but does he even like her anymore? Doesn't he care at all about his son's mother living? Because to me it seems like he only sees Marian's return as a complication of his love life, and doesn't even care about Marian's right not be be murdered by Regina, or his son having his mother in his life... Don't even get me started on the whole book thing. That doesn't even pretend to make sense. So, mixed feelings, but I think I'll stick to the positive and just ignore every scene and word of Robin, Regina, and yes, also Snow. ...I'm so already dreading what's going to happen once Frozen is over.
