  1. But was that actually her own dream or something old lady conjured up by putting Yen loves Geralt and Yen wants baby together into one?
  2. I saw people mention they thought Ciri was giving Triss the look in episode 4 I think.
  3. Unless I missed something she never said anything about a family unit with Geralt. Of course she loved him, the whole point was last Season that she has no idea if that love is real or came about via the wish in which case that love isn't real. She already did when she took Ciri. Broken trust is broken trust. He's going to need her to train Ciri but that doesn't mean the broken trust won't have consequences for them long term.
  4. That didn't look like a few days ago. F-him was Yen's guess because the bodies were burned. Doesn't mean it was him.
  5. Elves are the original inhabitants of the sphere all these characters we are watching live in. When the conjunction happened, that's when humans poured in from another sphere and they then took over. The Elves tried to get the right bloodlines together in order to create a powerful line of magic users. Only Lara Dorren fell for a human and had children with him. Elder blood is specifically the name for Lara Dorren's line of descendants. If anyone wants to know a little more then this link will help. It's not really spoilery for anything. It just has the general story of the Elder Blood. It was a little tweaked in the show but the essence is more or less the same. https://witcher.fandom.com/wiki/Elder_Blood
  6. You gotta appreciate how much they rolled back Yen's characterization. The entire Season she walks around with this sad, kicked puppy dog look. She also lost all of her bite. Where is the bitca from S1? Speaking of S1, Yen lusted for power and sacrificed everything in her pursuit of it only to find it hollow and unfulfilling, which is why she was looking to find happiness in a child. This Season she is desperately trying to get back that which left her completely hollow and willing to sacrifice a child for it. Erm excuse me, writers...I have questions. It's always a pleasure to see Yrpen and his merry band. Jaskier reacting like a guy who got dumped by Geralt and later bitching about Yen lol. But at least it lead to Geralt piecing the puzzle together. You have to appreciate that despite the farm people being dead for quite some time, they left 2 perfectly healthy and saddled horses there for Yen and Ciri to ride. They are even color coded to match them! Nenneke can now make portals too? Is there anyone in Hissrichverse who can't? Good grief Tissaia, what happened to you? First you stab Yen in the back and now Triss. Is the V-D that good? The guy is pestering you, disrespecting your wishes and he yells at you and you just take it? Where did the boss bitch from last Season go? In fact what's with all the sorceresses this Season? They are all freaking doormats. The only one who comes across as a boss lady is Phillipa and maybe Fringilla, in those rare instances where she isn't being an idiot.
  7. Can I just say how much I enjoy your constant changing of Yennefer's last name? I think my fave is 'Veggieburger'. How dare they kill Roach. Why couldn't they let Nenneke talk like a freaking normal person instead of appearing as if she's stoned the way she is drawing out certain words? Well Ciri, welcome to the world of weird that is parents making out, so to speak. But props to her for trying to later give them some time alone by gracefully extracting herself. The unicorn broke under mysterious circumstances huh? 🤣 Dang Ciri was an a-hole to that poor historian in training. She also interpreted what he said as a penis reference, this Ciri is definitely not a child. I understand why Geralt would be happy and kissy because Yen is alive but why is she? Last we saw them she was convinced what they felt was because of the djinn wish and she bounced. As for the ending...bad Yennefer. Bad, bad girl.
  8. Tissaia in 1x08 to Yennifer: It's your turn to save all these people. This can be your legacy. Tissaia now: Sorry boo. We gave your legacy to the looser I'm boinking. Freeing Cahir was a dumb ass move on Yen's part. You don't want to kill him then fine, don't. You can even have a monologue as to why you won't. But then just go and let the chips fall where they my in regards to him. Freeing him just makes you look more suspect, not less. Not to mention that she doesn't owe him anything, he would have gladly sliced and diced her in the Sodden battle if it had come to that.
  9. The demon needed Ciri's Elder Blood ability apparently (which includes world hopping). I don't think our Earth is really an option. The closest we would get to 'our world' would be Arthurian legends (this is me speculating with the last book in mind which we aren't supposed to talk about in here). IKR. Considering how scared they are of humans crossing them, even inside the castle they found sanctuary, you'd think the hallways leading to that baby room would be filled with guards. And of course the assassin was so silent that even Filavendrel, sleeping right next to the cradle, didn't hear a thing.
  10. There is an explanation for it but not in the show. So many things don't get explained in the show because world building is not in their interest. And yes they looked a little different last Season.
  11. Doesn't help that the actress had work done before S2 shooting as well (lips and cheekbones). Plus they use more make up as well.
  12. Gamers are very protective of their read headed waifu. Red hair was THE most important thing. Way more important than her actual character. I actually preferred S1 Triss because she wasn't like book or game Triss, character wise. Too bad. Actually Elder blood is Elf blood. Lara Dorren was an Elf. And she is the original carrier of the Elder blood gene. In the show, via Istredd's visit to those two historians, it was stated to be an experiment by the elves to create a powerful weapon to save the elves. Like with all genes there are latent and active ones. Like Calanthe was a carrier but it was latent in her, she could however pass it down as it was passed down to her. While it was clearly inactive in her, Pavetta and Ciri have the active version.
  13. So they make a big montage about how everyone now wants to either get their hands on Ciri or kill her (and anyone who helps her). And I'm supposed to go 'OMG so exiting'. Except they gave Ciri the ability to portal to other worlds already which deflates all of the tension before next Season is even out. Just have Ciri leave this sphere with Geralt and Yen, find a nicer and peaceful one and settle down as a family. Problem solved. So the witchers who have been nothing but a-holes and bullies to Ciri the entire time (and one had just stabbed her) are suddenly preaching about 'big loving family' to get Ciri to come back to herself? Vin Diesel would be ashamed. So much time wasted on Jaskier to get that gem to Geralt and nothing came of it. How was Yen able to transfer VM into herself without magical powers? Considering that the possession seems to be decided by VM, it wouldn't leave Ciri willingly because it needs her powers to get back home. No wonder the elves lost to the humans. These people are idiots with no understanding of realpolitik or deception despite them constantly talking about how devious humans are. /facepalm And seeing as how dumb a lot of those humans are (looking at you Cahir and Fringilla) makes it even worse. Too bad Ciri didn't pay much attention when she was locked in dream world or she could have answered Geralt's question of how Nilfgard knew before everyone else. Because her father didn't turn to dust, only Pavetta, Calanthe and Mousesack did. Doesn't really matter now though since Emhyr has announced to everyone that she is his daughter. Word will get out. He murdered all the babies. Nilfgard has been warring over half the continent. How many babies were killed in Cintra alone? Nilfgard takes no prisoners after all. Lots of dead babies and children left in their wake. Considering that Emhyr had to already have known his heritage (rightful heir to Nilfgard) when he met Pavetta's father and claimed the law of surprise, one should probably question the entire story. He clearly used fake names and titles. And clearly Ciri's parents didn't die at sea seeing as daddy is still kicking. And of course he couldn't go to Calanthe and ask for his daughter since he was supposed to be, you know, dead. Considering everybody is after Ciri because of her special heritage, why would Emhyr be any different (and Cahir has already back in S1 made that clear)?
  14. Oh hello Triss, Lady Friendzone personified. I was really hoping they wouldn't go there seeing as Triss showed absolutely no interest in S1, romantic or sexual, in Geralt. Guess when one gets a makeover to look more like one is supposed to, one also gets a little character makeover. The joke at the docks wasn't even funny. If they had stopped breaking the 4th wall after making fun of S1, then fine. But taking a dump on your critics just shows how fragile you writers are. Yen and Jaskier should have been spitting insults at each other left and right the entire time, after all that was their relationship last time we saw them together. And why are all the witchers such a-holes (especially to Ciri) in this show? It's so freaking annoying.
  15. And that's exactly the problem. They decided to set up literally next door to the CRM. Unless the CR(M) gave up the location with no scientists there and the whole place overrun, it's the worst place to be. These people won't even be able to grow food since the CRM might send patrols that far out or all the helicopters flying around will spot something. If the CRM abandoned the place, fine...but they didn't show/tell us that they abandoned it. And they also didn't show/tell that the scientists eventually moved on from the mall and went somewhere else (even though it was mentioned to be temporary).
  16. Well the scenes at the end have time jumps in them even if they aren't defined. We know that the scientists set up shop not far from the lab in a shopping mall, although it was mentioned to be temporary. Where they got all the lab equipment however...who knows. The group that headed to Portland looked like they stepped outside of that mall and there is Portland. They were wearing the same clothes, carrying no bags and there was no wear and tear on them (and Iris still didn't lose a pound despite them traversing the entire continent on foot unless it's Portland, Maine). Silas already was up in ranks, watching new recruits. How they get food and keep clean like that? A wizard did it (just like S1).
  17. I know this is a late reply so who knows if you even get this one. But why do you need an audio commentary when the scene is right there? After their conversation about Ben (and Max saying she won't see Logan again), Max walks Alec outside of the apartment building. Logan gets there, gets out of the car and starts walking in the direction of the building. They cut to Alec who is looking in the direction Logan is coming from and then decides to throw his arm around Max. They cut back to Logan and he stops in his tracks when he sees that happening. If Alec hadn't been looking in Logan's direction and then made the choice to throw his arm around Max (which is not the relationship they had so it's a weird thing to do by itself), then one could say he didn't do that on purpose.
  18. Is it sad that I was lmao at this part? Finally a like minded individual. Rick 'the leader' Grimes has always been an immense source of frustration for me. What made it even worse was that no one else was allowed to be competent even in basic things so as not to give viewers the idea that maybe Rick shouldn't be the 'chosen one'. I doubt it will go that far in the main show. At most we are going to get a revelation that the Commonwealth had or has some deal with the CR(M) (otherwise they wouldn't be standing anymore 2 years after the events in WB). CW might actually have been a trading partner unlike the other communities from WB. But there is no way they are going to get that deep into a possible conflict between CR and CRM. I could see them do that on Tales. There is no way they aren't going to pay off the fact that one of the french research teams was in Ohio. They will be in the Commonwealth, either hiding their true identity like Yumiko's brother or CW is also doing their own research on the virus. And we know our group is gonna snoop around (it's already been hinted at in trailers with Daryl and Carol IMO).
  19. Then they shouldn hire different actors to begin with. I don't judge overweight people since for some it doesn't have anything to with over eating but it's a medical condition. But if you want to sell me that this is an apocalypse where people often struggle with having food at all and sometimes travel thousands of miles, there should be wear and tear on the alive people just as there is with the world around them (perfectly mowed lawns aside). They do that in period pieces from the Middle Ages or earlier as well. Always gotta look Hollywood pretty.
  20. You know people have been trying to talk about this before and always get downvoted into oblivion or told they are fat shaming and what about 'representation'. Lets get something straight, at the beginning of the apocalypse there can be overweight people. 10 years into it? Unless you are living somewhere untouched by this apocalypse, hell no. Just like you wouldn't find overly muscular people. It's funny that I have an easier time suspending my disbelief for zombies than overweight/overly muscular people. But how am I supposed to take the survivors plight and struggle with finding food and living on spiders and worms while traversing thousands of miles seriously when you have people like Jerry, Eugene, Tyreese, Iris, Silas, Abraham, Denise, Olivia and so on? And wasn't there a body builder among the group Maggie came back with in S10/11? Even in big walled off communities like the ones we have in this show, food rationing will absolutely be a thing. Iris and Silas walked from Campus to New York and didn't loose any weight. In this episode apparently they walked from New York to Portland and Iris still looks the same. And I bet if we'd seen Silas in full after he became a soldier, he'd still look the same despite having gone through military training. Well we don't know yet. After all those Rick movies are totally gonna happen and they will deal with CRM. Considering the end credit scene this episode mentioned that one of the french scientist teams was on a seminar in Ohio...that's where Commonwealth is. Nah it's not something that was said so it's not your fault. When they do a wide shot from behind the french guy (just before he shoots the scientist), in the upper left corner is something written close to the ceiling. It translates to 'the dead were born here'. Will and the CRM soldier both had run out of ammo. The soldier was about to reload his rifle when Will came. The problem is that the soldier has a gun on his left hip. And instead of drawing that gun and simply shooting Will, he decided to rush Will instead.
  21. You forgot the third instance of this stupidity. When Will was at the CRM truck, the soldier had his weapon pointed at him and instead of shooting Will he decided to rush him instead.
  22. Jadis needs to die. She is as evil as one can be. Keeps talking about people as a resource but is all in on genocide. Girl you make no freaking sense. I hate that she won the 'blame game' between her and Elizabeth. Everything Elizabeth did was for nothing. She sacrificed her humanity and lost everything anyway, both her daughter and her position. And funny how one's own kin dying can make one question their own choices. Well as I said in the episode 9 thread, she should have formed an inside rebellion or taken out Beale or maybe even let the evil plans slip to the CR. Have fun in the gulag. So the French created the virus huh. So much for space spores. I find it hilarious that the US got a harmless version of the strain that produces slow and dumb zombies (not counting S1), has tons of armed civilians and military/police/guard and still completely fell apart. Meanwhile Europe managed to have survivors despite insanely powerful walkers, unarmed populace and lack of armed forces. And hey there Dr. Jenner. It's also interesting that this is retroactively admitting that Darabont had the right idea in S1 with the faster walkers who retain some form of intelligence. Of course the only characters they killed off were two I really wanted to survive. But why did Huck have to die in such a dumb way? Instead of just killing Jadis she decided to have a fight with her and even handed her a weapon. And I knew this show was never going to kill off any of the kids because this franchise has lost the balls to do that a long time ago. They couldn't even show us Elton's arm getting chopped off after being bitten.
  23. There has to be more to it. I mean we know from last Season that Elizabeth doesn't really like what she's doing (GENOCIDE) but keeps herself going with the 'look at all we have' method. We have seen a soldier who participated (Barka) in the genocide show some humanity by doubting what they were doing. My problem here is simple. How has someone like Elizabeth not tried to form a rebellion and put a stop to this? The CRM doesn't have infinite numbers. The CR society has 200k souls, give or take, and the majority are most likely not CRM. So it's not like if you try to stage a coup there will be massive reinforcements coming from other cities. There was even the possibility to collude with Omaha/Campus/Portland and get them to train their own soldiers that you can later use in a coup. And if someone else from CRM came by and asked why they needed all those soldiers, just excuse it with 'in case human marauders come by' or 'in case a large herd comes our way'. What would even be the tragedy or risk in taking out Major General Beale himself? Sure he probably has loyal minions but so what? Kill him and expose what he was doing. Expose it to the CR civilians and CRM soldiers. There are probably more Barka like soldiers and some may have even come from those communities or have family there. Others might be perfectly fine with genocide out of selfishness but not everyone will be. But I really don't see what the problem is when it's the easy solution to just off Beale and whoever else spearheaded this.
  24. Mason explained it. Most of the kids were directly from CR. There were some select few from Portland. It looks like at most they took kids of very high IQ and who were scientifically inclined. And further proof that the 'saved 10k kids' thing is nonsense is Jadis' stated reason for the genocide. Adding 10k additional mouths to feed in one swoop is a lot. Granted they just genocided the other 90k so they don't need resources anymore. But you are adding 10k people to your own numbers. Unless the CR is extremely strict about reproduction, that can be a generation of baby boomers. And I thought the reason these guys are so damn strict about the number of people they let in was in part due to having a stable population number. None of this makes any sense to me.
  25. Yes they did. And it looks like the only military personnel that were present were those in the helicopters. So Elizabeth's chopper, the 4 choppers with the containers plus however many were directing the herd. That's 50 soldiers at most. Campus only had certain entries/exits. I'm pretty sure someone would notice you airlifting children out. Same if they had people undercover there, someone would have noticed missing children. Unless a fairy waved her magic wand and teleported them out just as they dropped the gas, this 'saved all the children' line is nonsense.
