I’m right there with you! I hate lingering smells. When I was in college, my roommate made steak and our apparent smelled like a butcher shop for an entire weekend. If you have to any citrus on hand, simmer it in water on the stove. Could also use ginger, cinnamon, clove, allspice, etc. I’ve done that in the past and it seems to work!
