  1. I thought that too. And even if one or two broke in the toss, the one person could go back to the stand and replace those eggs. Also, if it were me, I would have taken a few extra eggs in the bag just in case. Were they not allowed to?
  2. People have never needed smoking to slack off on their jobs. Anyway, aren't specific breaks mandated in certain (mostly hourly) professions? They used to call them coffee breaks and you had to have one every certain number of hours. I guess we're going back to the days of slave wages and child labor, though. 😕 In salaried jobs, breaks are kind of whatever the boss will allow for whatever reason. I mean people take breaks to pump breast milk, and many other reasons. If reading the bible is your need, I suppose if your boss is ok with it, then OK. What the viewing public might say, well that's another matter... 🙂
  3. Seriously. I am fairly new to BD, having only watched the past season of BD before this one, and I sorely miss Kate and Josiah.
  4. Totally agree! I think the guy asked for a grilled cheese as a last resort -- he was starving, anyone can make one, and it would probably not give him food poisoning.
  5. Agreed! People seem to think they have the right to say whatever they want and still, for instance, keep their jobs. But with regard to Putin, his government actually does crack down on dissenting speech.
  6. LOL. When she was ascribing expressing her opinions to "free speech" I wish someone had pointed out to her how Putin feels about free speech.
  7. I think it was Adrian who baked muffins, etc., in the morning.
  8. Why hire ANY chef if you haven't tasted their food?
  9. Even worse, it was the second time they initiated a conversation with an ally team and managed to turn them into enemies.
  10. The softball-size mozzarella was only bested, IMO, but what looked like an Olive Garden bottom-less bowl of pasta with hockey-puck size pieces of truffles thrown on top. That's what I want for my very special, luxury birthday dinner!
  11. OMG the TWINS! They had blessedly faded from my memory.
  12. Also: I have always loved Tim, but I sometimes got the feeling that he didn't "get" some of the designers - he did treat everyone like a student, which makes sense, but wasn't always as helpful (see Swapnil, etc.). And in later years, his advice/opinion was often in conflict with what the judges had to say. He was always supportive and kind, though, and his take on things interesting to me. Christian, on the other hand, seems to be motivated not just by his fashion experience, but by his time as a contestant, the "get-something-done" pressure, and his knowledge of what's possible/how to improvise in the time allotted. I am finding Christian to be more helpful and also more balanced among the contestants in his advice (and snark).
  13. How do none of these people know that hydrogen peroxide gets out blood stains? Doesn't every menstruating woman at the least know that? I think they did Bishme a mercy in letting him go. There was no way he would have been able to make two whole new looks in the time allotted. He was so checked out, I'm sure it was a relief on some level. I liked the concept of the Nina challenge, the idea of a balancing piece was interesting to me. But she definitely was trying to throw Garo under the bus.
  14. I loved Chris and Brett this episode, especially Chris. His fake stretching to eavesdrop on the O'Reilly sisters, his stone cold lawyerly demeanor when Rachel was berating him for his vote, his snark that they don't talk to them because they don't have enough instagram followers, his hand off to his partner at the apple challenge, "Sarge, this one is all you." They are delightful and funny.
  15. It just means he did not go to Fashion school and/or get a BFA or MFA in fashion. Bishme might have taken sewing classes locally as I did as a young teenager, or learned from his mother/grandmother, as I also did. Not to diminish his talents, just that it has an industry meaning.
  16. Not necessarily. If the prescription is on the lower side, you can buy glasses online (Zenni, etc.) for pretty cheap, like $25.
  17. I thought you meant Erin, who was crafty and liked to paste stuff on her clothes and do whimsical appliques, etc. She wasn't especially mean, though, as I recall. Jeffrey was only mean to that other contestant's mom, as I recall, one of the darker chapters in the history of "real women" challenges. But he was pretty dismissive of other contestants (then again, so have many others been -- Santino, even probably Christian himself). This season's group seems uncharacteristically supportive, bonded, and kind to each other, which is refreshing. It's nearly as pleasant as watching the Great British Baking Show! 😉
  18. I think Hester is older than she claims and likely needs different glasses for close work.
  19. I'm late to the game, but I always wonder, in these "real women" challenges if the designers ask the clients how they want to look or what part of their bodies they want to highlight -- I mean every single woman I know can say, I don't like to show my upper arms, or I like to emphasize my waist, or I'm not comfortable with strapless, or I love my legs but please don't emphasize my belly pooch, or whatever. It seems like the real women are only asked to give conceptual or emotional guidance. And we know that most of these designers CANNOT look at a woman's figure and make decisions about how best to flatter it! So you end up with the "curvier" women in misshapen sacks (like every single season!) because somehow the designers don't understand that they need structure in their garments -- especially if thereare no straps -- egad, I thought the poor woman was going to fall right out last week! If ever there was a challenge where Stylist Marnie might have helped, this could have been it. Also: Wasn't it Tim Gunn who said that the challenges are won or lost in Mood? Fabric choice for the type of garment you're designing is a very complicated thing and a lot of these designers are really bad at it.
  20. They used to give them their bathing suits around the time of the merge, if I remember correctly, about when their underwear was getting too gross or saggy. It's only been the past couple seasons that they haven't given them proper bathing suits at all. Which I think is ridiculous.

    Fix The Show

I dunno, you have plenty of charisma on these boards.
  22. There were plenty of salacious shots of Lauren's body throughout the season.
  23. Doesn't Tina have rheumatoid arthritis? It didn't seem like an obstacle when she played before, but who knows now?

They could even get a clothing sponsor, Patagonia or EMS, etc.
