  1. Char: I like it, but it was just safe. Sandhya: In her element. Actually reminds me of a piece from Thom Browne's latest collection. Emily: Dated like something Patti LaBelle and the Bluebells wore in the 70's Alexander: Interesting, but as safe as Char's. Fäde: I think it's too restrained and not really avant garde. Korina: Meh, just looks like stuff tacked on a black mini dress Amanda: Nope, dress falling apart on the runway Kini: LOVE this. Definitely top contender for me Sean: Brillant! another top, possibly the win. Almost reminds me of the McQueen where the model spun on a dias and was hit by paint splatters Other than the hat, I'm not really getting Siriano from Kini's look. Other designers have done that umbrella like skirting but I like that Kini sort of turned the model herself into an umbrella. I immediately thought of McQueen when I saw Sean's and knew it had to be the win. I honestly can't say Fäde wasn't deserving of the auf. He made a dress. It didn't look like he even attempted anything avant garde. When you then add on the fact that the sewing wasn't as good as he usually does I can see why they sent him home. The only other choice was Korina and see had immunity.
  2. And yet she only has one backup of her files that her roommate conveniently stole. I am probably the least tech savvy person I know and I have 2 backups of my PC.
  3. For whatever the reason neoprene is having a bit of a mini trend on the runways at fashion week. As for Zac's dress being Kini like, Kini did't invent that style. Also most designers start at least 6 mths in advance making their collections so I highly doubt Zac was copying anyone.
  4. We were calling them VombieTeam6 on twitter last night. As far as I know they first appeared to save Nanny Neena and the kids last week.
  5. I was a bit confused by that last scene. At first I thought it was the greedy rich guy. Was it a flashback? I thought Eichorist was already turned. Was this supposed to be post Allie invasion?
  6. Nina is very active on social media. In fact it was Nina who introduced me to Pinterest way before it got big. I realize it doesn't make sense in the real world but in the fashion world it is appropriate. Models are little more than living mannequins.
  7. I agree with Chattygal here. In Michelle's case the save was warranted. Since it has officially been called the Tim Gunn save it's more of an emotional response to designers Tim likes. Like Justin, Char isn't bad. They both are just so so designers. I don't see Char winning anymore than I did Justin. As for production telling him who to pick; I have my doubts. Tim *is* production. He and Heidi own this baby. They are the executive producers of this show. I truly believe these people are who he wants to save. I think we the viewers may need to adjust our expectations of who Tim will save. I also don't think the time factor is a matter of money. The show had less money and the prizes weren't as big when the show first started.
  8. I love Tim as well, but honestly I think the Tim we first met and saw seasons 1 -5 ish is long gone. He's now and executive producer and has more of a stake in this show. Basically it's his and Heidi's baby. The Tim who used to give us such candid reviews on "Tim's Take" is no more. I too found his tears a bit fake. Nonetheless I had no problem with him saving Char. I don't think she'll win, but it wasn't any worse than last year's pity save. No. That would be season 6 designer Ra'mon Lawrence. He made a green neoprene dress and dyed it in the toilet. Didn't Joy on "My Name is Earl" call them double butt necklaces or something? I remember the tie in episode and now when I see them that's all I call them. Samantha was the right choice for the auf. If you are going to do basic, it has to be perfect and hers wasn't. She made nothing but forgettable looks all season so it was her time to go. My choices for top two were Korina and Sean. I really liked Korina's and it was my choice for the win. It reminded me a little of the Tadashi Shoji cape that Janelle Monae wore. Sean's was nice because it showcased the jewelry. I thought wearing the 3 piece set was a it overdone, like a magazine ad for Chopard, but his dress was dramatic and well made and he pleased the client. I'm still ignoring Amanda's over praised crap.
  9. I was leaning towards that, but something about Sandhya's collection reminds me of Elena's from a season 10. I really liked her collection as well but was never a finalist. Sandhya's is still one of my favorite collections, but I think I think I need to see how things shake out over the next few weeks before I'm definitely decided. Part of me is worried that we are being set up for a Sean win and based on this collection, he definitely doesn't deserve the win.
  10. Believe it or not I liked Sandhya's collection the best of all. It would be my personal choice for the win. I particularly like the blue top with the yellow bottom mixed print set. Fäde's collection reminds me of Alexander Wang designs. It's not my cup of tea, but there is very NYC market for that sort of thing. Overall I think Korina, Sandhya, Fäde and Sean have the best collections.
  11. Alexander's is kind of "meh" with horrible styling. Amanda's is not as annoying and fringe-y as I expected. Char's is nice but I fear too urban to truly wow the judges. Fäde's - Reminds me Alexandria from last season only in color. I get what they are going for. Sort industrial meets urban. Emily - NOPE just ugly Kini - I really like. Downside is he has a few pieces that look like they would be more successful in a different material/ That flouncy dress in the middle and the last gown are 2 prime examples. The fabrics they are rendered in make the dresses look too heavy and bulky. My guess for final 3 Kini, Korina and Sean. I think if Sandhya was a finalist they would have advised her against that lipstick on her models. Korina - Very nice but it reminds me of the Louis Vuitton Spring 2013 collection. That may count against her. Sandhya - I like it. It's colorful, fun & very much what I'd expect from her. My fav look is the blue top with the yellow bottom mixed print. I want to see that on a celeb on the RC. Sean - After all the free press Heidi gave him, he'd be a fool not to remind people of it in his collection. Still I find his collection a bit safe and repetitive. My guess for final 3 Fäde, Korina and Sean. I think if Sandhya was a finalist they would have advised her against that lipstick on her models.
  12. I hate that they stayed with that ugly gray color, but I'm happy to see Seth finally got his big boy furniture.
  13. This show was so awful they couldn't even get the hashtag right for twitter. I think #Unauthorized was the official one, but I saw at least 5 others. Did not one in charge of social media not think #Unauthorized might be too vague?
  14. My Saved By the Bell confession: I started watching the show because first season had Hayley Mills as their teacher, Miss Bliss. I loved the show Nanny & the Professor as a child and as a result watched pretty much anything with Hayley Mills in it.
  15. Hassan was keeping a check list of everything they took from the store. I doubt he was going to give up free gas.
  16. YES! First thing I tweeted was how I hope they met up with Fet. Abe is too old to have to deal with the dumbness of Jim/Eph & Nora without somebody a bit more useful. I loved Fet being all "Tell me the rules." In fact if they could clone Fet those morons on The Walking Dead could use him too. I hope net week Gus somehow makes it out of prison alive because his homie gonna be turning soon.
  17. I'll toss my 2 cents into the ring. I agree that most of the issue with the show is they haven't successfully developed their universe. Not a literal universe, but in every story there is a bit of world building. It's how we come to know the rules of how things are in this world that makes up this tale. I feel like they've been trying; we see the GR and get some basic rules established about who they are. Over the course of the season we've gotten to know Kevin, Nora, etc... I can't quite put my finger on it, but it still doesn't feel authentic. I'm not talking abut the lack of linear story telling. I don't need that. I just need to believe these people would do whatever it is they do and in their world/universe ti would make sense. We don't needs all the answers, especially if it's a show that hopes to last for some time. We just need to be okay enough with what we have been given that we the viewers are interested in getting to see these people more and know more about them Sadly most of the time this show feel more artsy than good. It's like a spoof of the stereotypical art house film about extensionalism. I am simply not buying it. This will be my one and only season.
  18. I thought the question was referring to pre 10/14. From the scene with Nora it felt like they were an item, but perhaps were doing a crappy job of being on the downlow.
  19. I'm not sure Tom's dad was anything more than just a crappy bio dad. It seems that whatever happened between him and Laurie occurred before Kevin was born and whatever it was was serious enough for him to cut off all ties with Tom and Laurie. Tom's bio parents are hipster dad that Kevin punched & Laurie Jill's bio parents are Kevin & Laurie I was one of those people who guessed that Laurie was Patti's therapist from that diner scene. No I haven't read the book. I do work in social services so maybe hearing that terminology helped me draw that conclusion. I just thought it was fairly obvious . The one thing I did find interesting, and perhaps I'm reaching here, is that bit in the conversation where they talk about Patti having been kicked out of her house by Neil. Patti says, "He paid for it." or something to that effect to justify him kicking her out. It looked like the house the GR are staying in is the house the Garvey's used to live in pre 10/14. It seems to me that Laurie would have been the primary bread winner in the family. I can't image a small town police officer making more than a therapist. So did the tables get turned and Laurie put Kevin out? No and I think if you have to read the book to understand what's happening then the series is a fail. The way she looked at Nora and said, " We're just friends." Felt like a big anvil of nudge, nudge, wink, wink "we're totally doing it." So no you aren't inferring too much. I don't think that's what happened. From what I remember; kid knocks over juice, Nora's phone rings at the same time. She uprights the cup and grabs the phone with both hands trying to answer it. She then goes over to the kitchen, turning her back to the family and grabs paper towels wiping off the phone.
  20. Sadly the police arresting a POC while the real crime is mere inches away is the one thing that does ring true. I must say I am really enjoying this show! Yes there are ridiculous moments but I like how they are just going for it. Cabbie deserved to die for his dumbness. Neeva's daughter deserved to die for her dumbness and disrespecting her mama. I kind of hope the Hobbit's wife gets it for being stupid as well. I can't wait until Fet and Gus join Abe & co.
  21. I wouldn't give Emily that much credit. She asked Sandhya to bring her back something from Mood until Tim told her she couldn't do that. The choice was keep on sewing or go to Mood. Emily wanted to have her cake and eat it too. Her griping sounded more like sour grapes to me.
  22. Perhaps that's why she doesn't bother me. I don't think she comes off as innocent or as playing innocent. I did find the running to Tim infantile. I also felt it was a bit scheming, but we've certainly seen worse from contestants. Everything else about her just strikes me as very human. She seems more than capable of giving as much as she gets but overall she appears to get along with most of the designers. I would take anything Hernan said with a very huge grain of salt. I am also one of the few people that liked her first dress. Amanda is "playing the game" or at least she thinks she is. Part of that is figuring out what the judges like and delivering. Amanda's words of wisdom that she likes to spout off indicate she think she is doing that.
  23. It did it's job. It was a spoiler and Heidi twirled all night to make sure it was a splash. In short, it's an outfit with a story. We've seen KimK also make the front of many fashion blogs/search engines for wearing less than flattering outfits.
  24. The top was changed and the fringe looks to be a more expensive varity looking more like feathers up close. It wasn't changed. That's part of why George on Fashion Police said it looked heavy. What appears to be feather like is actually just the blur from all the spinning Heidi did all night in order to sell that dress. As a model she was well aware that it looked better moving and when she stood still you could see the heaviness of the dress.
  25. How could they when the week before Heid wore this to promote Amercia's Got Talent? They are also the awards that Kathy Griffins jokingly calls the Schemmy's. Man, do I agree with this. I'm impressed that he's such a fast worker, but to not use all the extra time to try something different or take a risk or try to improve your garment is really disappointing, and sorta shows a laissez-faire attitude. And if you're napping your stuff needs to be perfect. A wonky neckline that you try to cover with ugly beads is not going to cut it.
