S03.E19: The Storm Has Just Begun
Trixie Belden replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Nashville [V]
I didn't even recognize Christina Aguilara at first, She looked so Kardashian esqe to me with the over contoured makeup and flat black hair. Count me in on being squicked out with her and Luke together. -
Has anybody heard anything from Will on social media since this episode aired? I'm just wondering if he's trying to backpedal or explain himself. I'm positive he's not going to actually admit any fault or apologize. I wish Shirin would find her way to her thread to see the last few pages of love she's getting from viewers.

S03.E19: The Storm Has Just Begun
Trixie Belden replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in Nashville [V]
I really think Juliette is struggling with a whole host of different issues that she didn't expect and doesn't understand. Remember, the only role model for mothering abandonded her over and over as a child, used her for money, embarrassed her publicly, slept with a guy Juliette was sleeping with and then capped it off with OD'ing on her couch. So, uh, I think she's probably got a lot of concerns about whether she's going to be just as shitty a mother as her mom was. That fear might be why she keeps the baby at arms length, because she's afraid of hurting her in some way. The one thing that she's been able to control is her career, and if your body, hormones and emotions are whirling around like a hurricane, I'm not surprised she wants to get back into a place where she feels safe and in control. Also, it's not like she and Avery have a calm, smooth history-their marriage is new and she's terrified of being abandonded. I think all those things are constantly on her mind, hence her laying in bed staring at the ceiling while Avery sleeps. Of course he can sleep, his mom is there supporting him and acting like a good mother, Juliette has no clue what that type of security feels like. Ya'll can all tell me to take my Juliette/Avery love and jump in a lake lol, I just can't help it. -

Shirin has been the whipping boy for EVERYONE this entire season, and frankly, it's disgusting. I get that being there is stressful, you're tired and hungry and paranoid, but come on! Last week in Dan's TH he said he wanted someone to slap her, this week Will (who I actually liked until last night) didn't keep it at gameplay, he knew what he was saying was cruel and had nothing to do with the game, but he wanted to crush her. I really wish Shirin could read this, because honey, I would LOVE to be your friend. You're quirky, funny, super intelligent and have great hair. Please come hang out by my pool with me and drink margaritas. You keep doing you, ok?

MAFS Social Media, Spoilers & Speculation
Trixie Belden replied to Bella's topic in Married At First Sight
It looks like in that A&E clip that Jessica finally starts pushing back and Ryan D gets vaguely (very vaguely) threatening, saying "if you want to push a line, I'll push another one" while walking away. She doesn't pipe up and say much, but every time she does say something, he gets pissy and storms out. I really hope she decided to leave him. -
I know several (more than 10) drug reps personally and professionally. They make serious bank, with pretty sizable bonuses quarterly. They also have a company car and a corporate card that has minimal oversight, so a lot of their expenses are covered in addition to "extras". One relative of mine put her cruise on her corporate card. They will also use the card to buy lunch for offices and will buy extra to take home for themselves. NONE of the people I know have degrees in the sciences, they're all BA in communications, English, anthropology etc. And they all have a certain "look" to them, much like Davina and also Ryan D. Young, thin, attractive and very well dressed (also paid for on the corporate card). As a person in the medical field in a family who are all also medical professionals, I can tell you that drug reps are universally loathed by the medical communities that they serve. The only real reason that they're tolerated is because they give samples which the doctors then can give to patients who can't afford their prescriptions. Watching Davina whine to Sean last night, after he moved for her, that she "wants to be courted", I wanted to scream. Does anyone else remember the wedding episode when everyone was giving their gifts to the new spouses? All the rest of the cast gave sort of generic "wedding" type gifts like a flask or wine glasses. Davina gave Sean a locked box (OMG! We both gave each other KEYS!! SQUEEEEE!), that inside was all about HER. Even his wedding gift was self centered. I don't much like Sean, but Davina makes me stabby. LOVE Ryan R and Jaclyn. I just keep smiling while they're on the screen. Jessica needs Monet to come give her some lessons on how to grow some spine.

No-I consider myself from the South. To me, "East Coast" is New England and New York/NJ.

I'm a person who believes in God but doesn't attend church and my husband is an atheist - it works for us, but he's easy going about everything. I couldn't be with a Madelyn Murray O'Hair type. On the other hand, I couldn't be with a super religious person either. I couldn't ever date/marry a Libertarian or Republican. I lean so far left I'm practically a Socialist. Being a slob or financially irresponsible is a complete deal breaker for me.

I didn't really mind Sean and Davina and all their PDA last night. I was like that at my wedding (and 17 years later, I cringe when I see my wedding video) and it turned out pretty well. We were also like that on our first date, so people can have an immediate physical attraction that lasts. The fact that they're also both in the medical field is a good base for them. When she made the joke about him "knowing" her when she held up the Tiffany bag, I think it just was her being silly that he made that extra effort before the wedding. They're my favorite couple, although I have to side eye her for defining bullying at kids saying "Hindu Hindu" to her. That's a whole different animal than broken bones like Sean describes. Jaclyn the shot girl can DIAF. She's bitchy and Ryan R isn't a bad looking guy. He's sweet and sincere, but I agree, she expected Ryan Gosling. Jessica was stunning in her dress, easily the prettiest bride of the night. Ryan D seems off to me, a little scary almost. He comes across as cold with a tendency for cruelty when he's mad or wants his way. I think she might be too soft hearted for him. Even watching on A&E this show is sloooooowwwwwww with way too much filler. I watched all 3 episodes last night in about an hour when I FF through the commercials and BS.

I cracked up when all the guys were passed out on the floor, Cookie and the other guy are still going and ol boy is watching it all go down while he eats Froot Loops out of a big tupperware bowl.

Andre has been playing around with his meds for several episodes now, so he likely doesn't have a steady therapeutic dose by this point. Add in the tiniest bit of stress and it leads to a full blown spinout like last night. I'm not entirely sure his family knows he's been diagnosed with bipolar, but they do know something about how he is in general, so they just have worked out ways to work with him and his moods (like Jamal starting him remembering and singing in the elevator).

The Jinx: The Life And Deaths Of Robert Durst
Trixie Belden replied to Primetimer's topic in HBO Documentaries
The prosecutors trying that case were terrible, just truly in over their heads. They KNEW he would argue self defense and they KNEW the burden of proof was on them, not the defense. I think Durst's attorneys are slimey, all but flat out admitting (the younger bearded guy) that they instructed him how to tiptoe up to the line of perjury without actually stepping over it, but I guess that's what 2 million dollars will buy you. They knew how to work that jury, from playing on their "Yankee" bias (bringing up Jeanine Pirro) and hammering over and over that the state couldn't prove intent, so they legally had to bring back a not guilty finding. Am I the only person freaked out by the theme song? It seriously scares me so much my husband has to mute the TV until it's over. -
This. I need to be a couple episodes in before I'm ready for pink underwire bras and off white "tighty whities".

The Great Wife Swap of 2014: The Dark Wife Rises
Trixie Belden replied to DakotaJustice's topic in Sister Wives
I think Robyn will be monogamous, but I seriously doubt Kody ever will be. They may very well end up with more (younger) wives with Robyn as #1 and the oldest, if the first 3 come to their senses and take off. Kody will never be satisfied with just one woman. -
S06.E12: We Made It Through The Night
Trixie Belden replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Parenthood [V]
My problem with Kristina is that the irony of her schooling Jasmine on going behind people's backs and interfering for her own families benefit was astounding. That's what Kristina has done for the entire freaking run of the show and it made her a very unlikable character for me. She went after Amber because Haddie got her feelings hurt. She wasn't at all concerned when Jasmine was hurt by Crosby sleeping with Max's assistant, she was worried she was going to lose that aide for Max. She has torn Sarah apart because she thought she was a bad mother. How many times has she confronted parents or school officials because they didn't get Max's special awesomeness? She has no moral high ground to stand on when it comes to interfering for her family's benefit. Also, when Adam said he hadn't figured out what his passion was, my husband said "Kristina hasn't told him yet".- 111 replies

The Human Beings Known as the Arnold-Klein Family
Trixie Belden replied to wrestlesflamingos's topic in The Little Couple
Getting back to Bill and his professional life, I know he has the pet store but I thought he mentioned still having at least a financial interest, if not full partnership, in some businesses back up north. It seems like it was the episode where he went camping with his friend, his friend being someone he's still in business with. I'm not going to go searching legal records or anything, but it seems very plausible to me that even if he's not in the pet store full time, he's working on other interests while he's at home. -
Me too! When she turned around and stalked out on Diane and Cary, I just wanted her to keep going. I'm not sure whether her trajectory was supposed to always make her more independent, but the writing has made her strident and selfish. When she brought up her kids/media attention, I just rolled my eyes because it seems more like she uses them as props for her indignant ranting, than she really worries about them day to day.

<snort> I think this describes them perfectly. NONE of the women there, well, maybe Camille, should be giving parenting advice. Especially not Kristina, who was all ready to cut Amber when she hurt Haddie's feelings a few years back.

The Human Beings Known as the Arnold-Klein Family
Trixie Belden replied to wrestlesflamingos's topic in The Little Couple
Maybe I need to go rewatch this season (and last?) because I really don't see overt favoritism from Jen. And I certainly don't see ANY sign of her disliking or not loving Will. One thing to remember is that Jen took time off from work and was healthier when Will came home than she was when they brought Zoey home. Adopting Zoey so soon after Will wasn't their preferred plan, it was a fluke that both children's paperwork came through that closely together. I think Jen may be (total speculation on my part) worried that she wasn't there with Zoey during that first traumatic period of leaving India and that she couldn't be as physically close to her and active immediately like she could with Will. There are so many articles and news stories/anecdotes about children adopted from foreign orphanages that don't bond with their adoptive parents early enough and it ends badly for everyone, and Jen is I'm sure aware of that. Maybe she's overcompensating? I don't think so, personally, but if people see her favoring Zoey, that could be part of it. Also, remember these are fairly new parents. Remember (if you have kids) bringing your first child home as a newborn, a healthy one hopefully, and how you fumbled your way through it? And continued to flounder around until you were confident you had it all figured out, which was never? Jen and Bill are going to make mistakes, no doubt, but I think those will be coming from a place of love rather than selfishness or a personality flaw.- 2.2k replies

Of course they're happy being in the public eye, they wouldn't have done the first season, much less all the rest, if they weren't. I guess I just don't see some nefarious or dastardly motivation like others do. I think that they genuinely wanted to show people that even having serious physical hurdles to overcome, it's possible to have a happy and successful life. It's obvious they don't need whatever TLC pays them, unlike oh, the 90 Day Fiance couples. -

Nobody else remembers the day Jen spent with Will and was trying to get him to fingerpaint with her? He hit her and she disciplined him, put him in time out and explained about hitting and KEPT him in time out. I guess my husband and I were the only ones that saw that episode, because we don't see her as favoring either child, a huge family gender split or Jen being cold and unloving towards Will. I just do not see any of that. I see a woman who likes to do girly things and so does her daughter. I see a man who likes to do guy things and so does his son. I don't see why that's a problem. Well, Katims shocked me last night. FOR SURE I thought the second half was going to be jump shots between frantically working on Zeke while Camille sobs in the corner and Amber sweating, groaning and pushing while Sarah sobs in the corner. Because this show is nothing but nuanced and subtle .

AVERAGE 5 year olds without a history of an orphanage, adoption, surgeries and speech/language delays say no quite a bit too. Will is not an average almost 5 year old. Jen and Bill are first time parents, and they got their kids as toddlers. Do I think they're the poster children for setting limits and would I show clips of their show in a parenting class? No, but at the same time, I think some people look for any and every reason to pick them apart. My grandson is 3. He's not adopted, he's an only child and hasn't had anything particularly jarring happen to his world. His parents are pretty strict, but he still says no when he doesn't want to do something, he loves nothing more than to stroll into everyone's pantry and grab something he wants and his language skills are just slightly more advanced than Will's. On Christmas day he didn't want to kiss anyone good bye and he also thought everything that was wrapped belonged to him. I guess I need to tell his parents to start cracking the whip, he's going to be a mess in a couple years?
