  1. I wonder if we're going to see a segment where Kim and Vince Van Patten are at some HoWives event and talk about crossing paths as child actors. I'd like to see that. She starred in "Nanny and the Professor" when she was 6-7 years old, and he appeared in one episode. He's about 7 years older than Kim -- wonder how much they remember each other from those days? They both did Disney TV episodes as well, so they must have met several times during their childhood.
  2. I don't recall her ever saying it. What she does emphasize is that Gigi can make money by modeling. That seems to be what Yolanda focuses on, and I can imagine it was very important for her, when she was young and trying to help her mother and brother financially. But Gigi's father has plenty of money, and I'm sure he'd pay for any college she got into, so it seems odd that Yolanda should focus on Gigi's earning potential. Sure, young people should make money for themselves and not live off their wealthy parents, but it's not like Gigi will need to support herself the minute she graduates college. In fact, with a degree and her dad's connections, she could probably walk into a great job post-college. My feeling is that Yo just wants Gigi to follow in her footsteps and become even more famous so Yo can stack her magazine covers on her coffee table for all her friends to admire/envy. Or perhaps Yo knows the inside scoop on Mo and fears he will blow through all his money before kicking the bucket, or that he will marry one of the young pieces he likes to have around and she will gain control of Mo and his bazillions, cut out Yo's kids, etc. etc. etc. A healthy fear, actually. Her kids should not count on continuing financial support or a huge inheritance from their dad. Maybe Yo retains the psychic scars of her father's sudden death and the resulting financial consequences for her family.
  3. Now that she's living with and helping care for former husband Monty, she has someone to look after and someone to keep her from being alone. From the small interactions we saw between them, I think there is genuine love and affection on both sides. For the time being Kim has a "cause" to keep her going and perhaps keep her sober, but what happens when he dies and she looses a best friend and the father of her oldest child? How will she cope? She just doesn't seem to have the tools to do it without losing her sobriety, although I pray that she will.
  4. My cousin was also young and beautiful when she was bitten on the cheek, so she too got a $100,000 settlement. The first time I saw Kim's dog I just knew it was a TERRIBLE choice for her. Just seemed like another example of her many poor choices.
  5. I had the same thought when I saw it today! Wow, she has something to be proud of in keeping herself in such great shape. On the other hand, I did note the "eh, who needs college when they could MODEL?" attitude and found it frustrating. "Mohammed wants the kids to go to college" so she, apparently reluctantly, will stand back and let them possibly pick up a little education. While I agree that it's ok to "strike while the iron is hot" in a career, I don't think the modeling world is even healthy for a young woman, so I just don't like Yo pushing her girls toward it.
  6. Harry Hamlin also had a small recurring role in the USA network's "Rush" this fall. He played the doctor father of Dr. Rush and I liked his character. The show has been cancelled after one season, unfortunately.
  7. I think we the viewers are able and somewhat set up to see her this way, though not the other Housewives. On the other hand, I think she's only on the show for another season because she badly needs the paycheck.
  8. Thanks for setting me straight on that. I thought that after his soccer years he went into the club business, and that his early athletic life led to his later hip damage, etc. I even thought his doddering behavior might have been the result of too many headers!
  9. That's exactly as I imagined him. He must have been tough to play professional soccer in England. I also don't believe he's only 69. I know he had hip surgery and thus walks stiffly and seems uncomfortable, but it's more that his mental state often seems doddering. My guess would have been that Lisa is around 63 and he is 75.
  10. Lemon Lane! The main drag of the vast King's Landing hilltop estate. Looking at that property from above, I can see why it's quite valuable, but I wouldn't want to live there.
  11. I LIKE Kim. I get her goofiness and appreciate it. I'm glad she's sober. But clearly none of the other Ho'wives, even her own sister, appreciate her personality. She really goofed up in previous seasons due to her addictions and she has no interesting story line to keep her a hot item on this show. I don't want to see her fighting with the other women over stupid shit. Unfortunately, Kim seems to need the Bravo paycheck, and if Kyle still has any "pull" with Andy, Kim will keep getting those checks. I wish she had something going on in her life rather than her dog, who has bitten a few people and thus needs to GO. I would like to see her with a fun story line trying to bring the ladies together or having a real friendship connection develop with Yolanda due to both sending a daughter off to college.
  12. I'm surprised because he's currently much more famous than her for his role on "Mad Men". I barely know who she is or ever has been. All I knew was that she was a small-time actress who had ruined her lips. Also, I loved how she dropped that they were on their way to the "Mad Men" wrap party. Now THAT was the party to be invited to. White Party is definitely third tier.
  13. I agree. The sad thing is that so many Hollywood beauties who get famous in their mid to late 20s try to "hold" their looks at that age and end up looking much worse at 35 than they would have if they had just focused on eating healthy, exercising, and taking care of themselves. These days they don't wait until they need a little refreshing plastic surgery at age 45, they start with the Botox and other crap at 30 or even earlier!
  14. This baffles me to no end. Taylor especially -- she must spin the greatest Poor Little Me victim narrative the world has ever known. The guy must have needed someone to save, is all I can think. I like Camille but didn't think she looked as good as she did in the past. Of course, she's been through hell so I'll say she looks amazing considering all that. I wish her well in her recovery and attempt to raise her kids while dealing with an acrimonious relationship with Kelsey. I'd advise her not to talk about him more though, just "move forward" and let him dig his own grave.
  15. No, it happened after the season wrapped, on shore. Couldn't tell if Ben then broke up with the girlfriend or if they had already broke up, but he said they are no longer together. Maybe Ben and Kate could open a restaurant together after Below Deck ends. I don't think we'll see a 4th season.
  16. I have a feeling that even if Capt. Lee became a penny-stock millionaire, he'd still keep his job a few more years. Yeah, that charter was just another "get rich quick" seminar with a nice setting. To begin with, the penny-stock guy was an idiot for not understanding that a boat at sea is not going to have ideal Internet connections. Eddie was right on with his summary of why a 19-year-old would be dating that douchebag. Oh, if only he had stood up at the dry erase board and enumerated them for the gathered "students"!
  17. Thomas is 52, right? I've noticed that men who have been drinking heavily as long as Thomas probably has (since the teenage years) often develop very unpleasant personalities when they're drunk. Add to that his general sense of entitlement and you have a recipe for a man I wouldn't want to spend time with, much less marry, even if he was the father of my child. He's got Southern charm, that's for sure, but I have a feeling that underneath there's some ugly stuff. Kathryn may be fortunate NOT to have married him. She can walk away now without the stress of a divorce and still get child support, while perhaps painting a case against him getting custody or a lot of visitation due to his behavior. He may have more money but likely she has the upper hand.
  18. Yeah, I don't see a sibling resemblance. Maybe there's more to that whole family story... I found him cute/attractive even before I saw the selfie that I accidentally on purpose have looked at about 10 times. But yes, the personality is weird and his treatment of Jennice was stone cold. There may be some editing shenanigans going on, and maybe he got freaked out by Amy saying Jennice thought they were moving in together, but still, he was unkind to her. Well, to look on the bright side she now has a memory of something I wouldn't mind having a few times...
  19. When she made one remark and was trying to be funny, I got the feeling that she was imitating Katharine Hepburn and her distinctive accent. Maybe that's it? Kelley could love me (a few times) and leave me. But then I'm 52 and just looking for (um, BIG) fun, not a guy to take me in and give me a home because all my possessions fit in a wheelbarrow. Kate cracks me up and I enjoy watching her. Latecomer Logan didn't get much screen time but his whole musing speech about why "sweet sweet Bianca" was dating that douchebag penny-stock guy was HILARIOUS! I'm hoping to see him and his blinding white teef next season.
  20. Beesknees, how 'bout we each pick one guy's name from a hat, have a double wedding, and then swap on alternate days? As far as tipping and "rich people", it's not something you can generalize. I've been around many rich people and most have tipped anywhere from standard 20% to better than that to quite generously. I've run across the occasional jerk like some of these charter guests who waves around money to "impress" others and then acts all cheap when it comes to tipping, but that's pretty rare. I haven't been in the service industry, but I know that basically some people tip well and some don't, it's really just the individual. And we don't know how much of this is created by the producers for the sake of drama anyway. That reminded me, did anyone else note that Amy said something about how she thought at first that she and Kate would be "stew soul mates" but then it turned out to be the total opposite.
  21. I disagree. Capt. Lee clearly was uncomfortable with Kate and Ben belittling the charter guests just from looking at their profiles. When he handed out the tips he made a speech about how the crew had acted judgmental about the guests and that it wasn't the right way to treat paying customers. He was embarrassed that they had been given a big tip he felt they did not earn. I think Capt. Lee felt bad that guests who just happened to be of average to plus size, enjoyed eating and having fun, behaved fairly well, and tipped great were treated so poorly behind their backs. He knows it all for the show but still...
  22. I re-watched the scene where Capt. Lee hands out the tips and Amy was the only person he said, "Thank you" to when he handed her the envelope, and he emphasized it and sounded very sincere. Other than making a point perhaps by saying in front of everyone that she had worked extra-hard and he commended her for it, there wasn't much else he could do since it's an "equal-share" tipping situation. I agree about the charter folks not deserving the condescending attitude from (most of) the crew. They ordered a lot of food, they love food, they ate a lot. So what? How many charters are full of people who drink and drink and drink, talk about how much they love to drink and get drunk, and act like drunken idiots? Why are the big drinkers so much more "acceptable" than the people who love to eat? Seemed to me this charter group was polite and appreciative, and other than the meal-planning snafu, they weren't making much trouble.
  23. For all Eddie's defense of Jennice when Andrew was making remarks that came across as sexist, I had to chuckle when he took one look at Logan and said, "Muscles!" Jennice would not have been too pleased if she had been standing there -- it was clear to me that Eddie feels Jennice may try hard but doesn't have the brawn needed for the big deckhand tasks.
  24. I like the bitching, too, and get a big kick out of Kate's attitude toward the guests. Her sarcasm is hilarious! Even Ben gets in on the bitch-fest, and Amy has admitted that her 1,000-watt smile is fake half the time. Look at poor Capt. Lee and his often tight-lipped smile when he has to dine with the guests. Imagine what he's thinking. I think it's a riot!
  25. I hadn't thought about that. It wasn't Amy who revealed the reason she's acted professionally but coldly toward Kat, but Kat who spewed the story to her co-workers. Amy had a right at that point to be angry with Kat for bringing the incident out into the open, although Amy of course told Adrienne about it at some point, and Adrienne clearly relished passing along that salacious gossip about Kat.
