S06.E10: The Day Of Jacqueline
racked replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
Jim is dying to be a housewife. I've never seen one of the husband's this involved in the drama. Usually they're embarrassed by it, like Juicy, or they feel the need to stick up for their wives, like Ken, or they enjoy the attention but don't really care that much about the details, like Joe Gorga. But Jim wants to be a housewife. He's so catty. -
S06.E10: The Day Of Jacqueline

The whole scene with the realtor was a joke, the way he kept saying "Now this doesn't compare to your house..." was so scripted and bizarre, especially considering Tre's house is appraised at not that much more than the house they looked at. And if the site that lists the history of Tre and Juicy's past homes is accurate, the home they were in before the Tacky Mansion wasn't particularly nice. For Tre to put on this act like she's always lived in the lap of luxury is bizarre. I loved the flashbacks though, Season 1 Tre was such an airhead. I'm not sure why Gia is getting as much airtime as a housewife right now but I feel for her, she's just a child. -
Yeah Persnickety I think you've got it. Though I will say, reading about them selling their house and Tre from RHONJ trying to sell hers, they are in a much better situation! They will probably get a good chunk of change for that house too, Brooklyn has only gotten more desirable since they purchased. The story about him ejaculating during the birth of their son is just SO them.

I believe Aviva was licensed. I don't know if she ever worked anywhere though. Jim, I believe, is someone who wanted very much to practice law and actually work as a litigator. But something kept him from being licensed and the best guess seems to be he couldn't pass C&F. I don't buy the shady deal with Dina. She has Tre, she didn't need Amber and Jim, and I don't think Dina cares enough to form an alliance with anyone. She's barely showing up for this season. Amber on twitter is interesting. I wonder if she and Jim are playing good cop/bad cop? she comes off as nice and sweet, he comes off like the biggest douchebag.

Trials and Tribulations of Juicy and Tre...
racked replied to Stinger97's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
Wow thanks zoeysmom. I'll be spending the afternoon on that site, holy info! -
Ha you're probably right zoeysmom. And when he gets caught in a lie, he just says he's playing a character.

The red paint room looks sooo bad, and always has. But the rest of the house is nicer than I remembered it. Maybe they decluttered for those photos. Can't believe they never finished the master bath! And the situation with the rent-controlled tenant is a little weird. Their lives pre-RHONY seemed much better than where they are now, but they also really wanted the fame so maybe it was inevitable? Shame because they really belong in the world they were in, if only they'd been content to stay there.

Trials and Tribulations of Juicy and Tre...
racked replied to Stinger97's topic in The Real Housewives Of New Jersey
I'm not as familiar with the Juicy's history. Where did they live prior to Tacky Mansion? If Tre has known Dina for over a decade they must have been living near each other or running in the same circles? -
But Jim is not an attorney "in training." He graduated law school. I don't understand his story at all. If he did pass the written portion of the Bar exam, then he failed C&F. He's not admitted, but he's trying to act like he just hasn't gotten around to getting admitted. I am licensed in NY, not NJ, but I don't think the process is that different. You pass the written portion you become a "Bar candidate" and all that's left is paying and going for your C&F interview, which for most people is a technicality.
-
I have never in my life heard someone refer to it as "lawyer training." Why not just say law school?

It's amazing that he thinks threatening random people on twitter with lawsuits will actually scare anyone. As though he's really going to take the time to subpoena IP addresses to even find out who these people are and go through the litigation with twitter to get those? He's a terrible non-lawyer, he's such a joke

I grew to dislike Caroline too but I also wish she was here to shut Jim down. Jim is exactly the kind of person to fear her. I am sometimes gobsmacked by the fact that any low life can have fans. What has anyone seen of Jim to make them a fan of his? Even if you don't hate him, what is there to be a fan of? So bizarre.
-
Jim is such a lunatic, it's stopped even being amusing because he makes no sense half the time and threatens everyone

Gia is breaking my heart. Those moments of her breaking down were rare authenticity for this show.

Ramona Singer: The Turtle Time Walk of Shame
racked replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
I love that Carols nickname is the Ghostwriter. Hee. Ramona did talk about her divorce to US weekly I think? Though maybe she was unwilling to show the details on camera -

I'm pretty shocked by this one! I was looking forward to single Ramona. -
Aviva Drescher: Leggy Blonde

I'm glad Aviva won't be coming back. She was 100% inauthentic onscreen, and it was obviously plotted and planned from her end. The sad thing is, I think the real Aviva is more interesting than what she put on for the show. I don't hate her, because she's not interesting enough to hate. But I agree that she was used as a shield by the other women. It always makes me laugh how bitter they get when someone doesn't want to go on the producer-planned trips. -

Caroline and Al being distant was something I suspected, but didn't know was confirmed. What's this about Dina's open marriage? How did she violate the terms? She is so boring this season, who knew she was hiding anything interesting? -
I think making Lu a full time castmember again is a mistake. She was likable this year because she wasn't onscreen very much. I'm one of the rare viewers who liked Jill Zarin despite her terrible last couple of seasons. She and Bethenny were fun when they were friends. I wouldn't mind seeing Jill onscreen again, I'm kind of curious how she and Aviva would interact.

I'd disagree with you on the "lots and lots" of people take the bar and never try to get admitted, but I only have anecdotal evidence from my own experience so I'll just agree to disagree about that. In any case, there have been people on twitter who looked up the successful bar candidates (meaning people who passed the written portion of the Bar exam) for NJ for the year he claims he took the exam, and he wasn't on the list. I don't know if he specified that he took the exam in NJ, but he's also not on the NY list for that year. So it seems he's lying about something. There is no "failed" list for the Bar in NY or NJ, you're either on the successful candidate list or you're not. It's strange how he won't just answer straightforward questions about all this though.

I'm sure everyone who goes on these types of shows are huge famewhores, and Bobby is no exception. But it's so hard to criticize anyone on this show when comparing them to Jim. Wow he's that unlikable, it's amazing. I'm not sure about NJ, but in NY lawyer and attorney are synonymous and it's illegal to identify yourself as a lawyer if you are not licensed. There's no way Jim took the Bar and passed it but didn't attempt the last step of getting licensed. It just doesn't happen, unless you're taking the Bar for Barbri or other courses (and when you take the Bar, they make you sign a statement that you are only taking the Bar with the specific intent of becoming a licensed attorney).
-
Yep diorella, I agree. His twitter behavior shows his true self. He makes the other castmembers seem so likable. Who knew that was possible? Didn't we see this? It's when he called Joe Gorga a name I can't remember, but little Jim was all fired up.
-
Jim must have failed the C&F portion of the Bar. There's a legal website I read where one of the writers had a similar situation. Passed the written test, so he could technically say he "passed the bar exam" but failed the C&F. I'm licensed in NY not NJ so I don't know how extensive the NJ C&F portion is but most states require you to admit to any prior crimes. Maybe that's where he ran into his problems? I know many lawyers who are no longer practicing, because they moved on to finance or other fields and haven't bothered to keep paying their registration dues or keep up with CLE requirements, but that's very different from having never practiced. Only one reason to never practice--failing the Bar exam. And if we believe Jim passed the written portion of the test, that only leaves C&F. He's such a douchebag though. It's not like being a lawyer is even particularly respected anymore. He doesn't use it to garner respect, he uses it to intimidate people with the fear of litigation. He may be the worst castmember on any RH franchise. Amber isn't even that bad, but boy does he bring her down.
