  1. Oh man, I didn't even think of that... Look, from what's already been said about the way women are treated there, I'm team Ari, but I honestly don't see the show surviving this... ...and I wonder which cast members will offer support....or inadvertently get roped in. I mean she is saying others were also mistreated so...is Nadia going to testify? Jen L? Martha M? Could they refuse? Do they have a choice if Ari sites them as a witness? ...this is major. Wow.
  2. Oh this is going to get nasty.... My jaw is on the floor you guys. Goodbye Nicole? Goodbye show? 😮
  3. Just saw a commercial for a TV movie in which Sami gets romantic advice from Jane Austin. Made me feel like Reilly was still writing DAYS 😄
  4. I know it's wrong of me, but I would prefer Paulina die for real because the tease is getting annoying 😅 "Bakers don't get the day off!" says the girl who has never been seen baking on this show. Doc looks good today in that blue. (And more her age physically! Is Deidre backing off the procedures?) Why was Konstantin holding that card around John the other day? Is it a magic card that makes John back into the Pawn or something? 🙄 I think I missed a scene. So of course they don't give me a flashback. But Ava gets endless flashbacks, naturally. Stephanie, don't hold the toast that your mother can easily pick up on her own. Ew! It was closer to her on the table anyway. Don't touch other people's food. Germs! I have no idea who is living in the DiMansion at any given time. My best guess right now is...EJ, Johnny, Stefan, Harold (?)....and Kristen and Rachel? They back in there? Harris' plaid coat looks...homosexual. I'm sorry 😄 I never say that but....it just does 🤣 Ok, plot twist: Harris is gay! Who does he hook up with? You choose! I like Chanel and want to advise her to wait ten years before even considering remarrying Johnny. Just be together. Wait and see how it goes. And not a mention of her sexuality? Cause that kinda complicated things last time. It'd be refreshing to see them set reasonable expectations. Open marriage maybe? Anyone else find it hilarious (and so typical) that EJ is acting high and mighty about taking down Clyde's drug operation when he used to work with him? And somehow, he went from crime lord to DA too boot? 😄
  5. FRIENDS!!!!! *big hug* Missed you all. Only caught Friday's episode so not too much to say. I actually enjoyed the flirty chemistry of Ava and Stefan, so you can imagine how badly I needed to talk to someone about it...😅🤢 Really, even if she's finally clicking with certain costars, I need her gone. Like yesterday. Ava is awful. I hate her being a permanent fixture. Stefan, even with a fun 70s 'stache, is also irredeemable. I've always sort of been uncomfortable with the softcore aspects of the genre, but sometimes it is kinda hot or at least earned. I do think it wouid be wrong to give up on those scenes entirely...but they do need to be better staged...between characters we are actually rooting for. Emily has had zero chemistry with all her male costars.....right? Am I wrong? I am liking the slice of daily life aspect of some of the Jarlena scenes lately.
  6. I was so worried it would be the possession stuff. So glad he outlasted that.
  7. We'll all be choking up, I suspect. If they have any brains at all, they'll get KA back and insert scenes of Hope being around, so even though she shares no scenes with Doug, she'll seemingly get some more time with her Dad.
  8. *clears throat* THEY COULD HAVE JUST HAD SAMI AND LUCAS MARRY FOR REAL, BE HAPPY AND LEAVE TOGETHER DURING HER LAST STINT!!!! Sorry but....DAMN I hate how they've treated this guy. Bryan/Lucas could have still popped in sans Sami to participate in new stories if they'd remarried. But no, they turned him into her kidnapper and now his character gets to be wrecked for years, apparently. Terrific. 🤬
  9. It's pretty sad that Johnny, the "aspiring filmmaker" who is already rich and would therefore be hobnobbing like crazy, has no friends, even the fake kind. His whole identity is "who is he dating?"
  10. "Dare you...to walk away from a steady job with seemingly guaranteed security because your presence just hurts the show overall!" Marlena starts vomiting. Then her head starts spinning. Why she's ever not a patient is the real mystery. By playing Russian Roulette?
  11. Cynthia Watros? She almost took over the role of Vicky on Another World, I heard. So...does Maggie still not know Konstantin faked the baby napping? Or does she just think he lied about a phony antique tablecloth? I'm still confused as to who is running his restaurant while he's away for months. Let's just sum up this entire painful Theresa storyline with this dialogue and be done with it: Gwenresa: "I'm an awful person, I'm sorry Brady! I'm sorry Alex! I'm sorry Maggie! I'm sorry Tate! I'm a disgrace! I'm an addict! I messed up every relationship! I messed up my company! I messed up everything! I am worthless! You should all hate me! You are all perfect people but I am scum! Whaaaaaaaaaagh!!!" There. Now can we move on please?? Also: would a parent really take street drugs to feel better...about their child being accused of putting another child in a coma from taking street drugs? I'd think drugs would be scary to her right now, not appealing. AND remember how Theresa had an overdose once? That's how they finally filmed scenes with Kimberly and Shane at the pub with their adult daughter for the first time. So, she KNOWS the dangers and you'd think what just happened with Holly would trigger the memories and scare her away from drugs. (If the writers remembered that story, that is.) John's judo chop was...sad. let's not do that anymore, writers. Drake isn't a fighter anymore. Liked the morning routine stuff with Doc and John (Ordinary life moments! Yay!), but...why did she leave her husband alone when he was not feeling well if she had a full hour to kill before work appointments? 🤔 Clyde is as unsettling as ever and I hope he wrecks Harris. 😄 Brady's neck is awfully red for "January".
  12. I didn't realize at the time that Ari was "leading" that initiative. Good for her....but yikes: she's sure had to deal with some totally misogynist creeps during her time on Days. 😒 I hadnt realized this was Sherri revisiting her classic story. That gives me some small amount of hope it won't be completely stupid.
  13. Yup. You're not wrong. The women are always lying, scheming, money-grubbing, desperate for a man...except for the few "virtuous" ones. It used to be a bit more...earned. Sami was awful....for reasons that made some sense. Ditto with Kate and Kristen and Vivian, etc.
  14. Oh goodie. More Deidre/RSW scenes filled with longing looks and supportive comments. 🙄 I wonder if the scab writers are in a deliberate holding pattern and dragging out Theresa's stay and Holly's OD because Ron left directions that he wants to pick up exactly where he left off once the strike ends. Maybe nothing will get resolved - the baby switch, Holly's recovery, Xander's genealogy, etc - until May. 🤔 But then...Johnny and Chanel are getting hitched on Valentine's Day right, so...maybe my theory is wrong? Or maybe Ron isn't too concerned with them 😄
  15. So I watched Friday's episode, and it was paced well. The trouble is I don't get why Holly is being shipped off with Nicole. I liked the actress and that she wasn't put through too much right off the bat. She and Tate were gelling, albeit slowly. What's the deal? If it was always the plan to have her bow out after three months due to an OD, why not cast a 14 year old? Young kids do drugs and are definitely more likely to overdo things or make a bad judgment call. Holly could have been 14 for these few months, gone off canvas and come back 17. Would have been a more gradual SORAS. Was that the first time Maggie actually forgave Eric to his face? I have a faint memory of it happening before he went to prison, or maybe after he came back and saved Hope, but my memory isn't clear. Poor Maggie. Half of her kids sucked. And we havent seen Melissa since...when? The Theresa stuff was such a turnoff. We already spent years watching Gwen cry her crocodile tears of self pity and act the fool. No matter what Emily did with these scenes, they were going to annoy. Glad Eric said a prayer though. Nice touch. And Steve, as always, is great. And Kate sticking up for Lucas is overdue. And Clyde is creepy as always. Too bad I dislike everyone bonding with a comatose Holly instead of an active one, and hate the ruination of Theresa and have no clue where the Konstantin stuff is suddenly going.
  16. MissP, you are 100% correct in all you've said. Theresa and John even had a tense chat at the Pub (before the fireplace poker confrontation) where he pointed out, "you can stop. Brady can't. He's an addict." Or something to that effect. The writers are playing fast and loose here to build up interest in this silly overdose story. I haven't watched this week, but honestly, I'm not tempted to if this is what they're doing to my girl Theresa. Soaps used to be perceptive about which characters caught on, and which actors caught on, and how those two blended. Now, they force things. Ben. Gwen. Stefan. Paulina. And the plots only serve to make the actors look less capable, instead of playing to their strengths. Jen made Theresa fun and redeemable. That's why Theresa stuck around for a few years. We enjoyed her (most of us). Now, pretty much her entire character arc has gone out the window and been invalidated by this mess. And for what? Emily will take off the wig sooner rather than later, so this is all just....to sink the character? Prop up Brady and Alex? Kristen was wrecked because they wanted to keep doing the same things with her over and over, and it's been diminishing returns for years now, to the point we all want her gone. This Theresa stint feels in keeping with how shabbily Eve was treated when poor sweet Ben needed a villain. Know how to use your characters better, Days. They're kinda why we tune in.
  17. Was Eric an alcoholic? He turned to booze for a period, yes, but he never struck me as having the disease, as they call it. They've gone back to Jennifer being an addict several times now, but honestly neither of their stories felt like anything other than a plot being superimposed onto them. Brady has been struggling consistently for so long that with him I believe it. But not Eric, sorry. YMMV.
  18. I have jokes...but I really want you all to know: I'm not going to use them. Maybe he's born with it. Maybe it's Maybelline. I'm starting to think Stephanie's "feuding" boys are just using her as an excuse to hookup. Can we get an apology for the way she's been acting these last few years? Cause RoboMar really isn't in a position to judge anyone's acting... Honey, there's no way to spin being a raping, drug-dealing, plane-crashing, kidnapping mafia twit. Ohhhhh! Fuuuuuun! Will they finally find their personalities? And the award for the dumbest DOOL spoiler ever written goes to...
  19. Honestly, they should shoot footage to cover their asses for most of the vets. I mean, poor Joe showed up to make faces at the camera because he couldn't deliver dialogue anymore. Was that really necessary? He had a degenerative condition. They knew that and could have filmed with him more while he was still able and spread the footage out, rather than write a bad story about Hope murdering Stefano only to call him back to set to try and correct it once he was in worse shape. Same with John/Victor. They couldn't have thought ahead about this Xander storyline and filmed something to support the big reveal?
  20. I wonder if they'll edit out or reshoot his actual final scenes if they're not appropriately touching. For all we know his last scene could have been Doug calling Konstantin a jerk or something. They might trim out anything they need to so his final appearance will be sweet (and never air his actual final scenes).
  21. Remember how messed-up and intriguing the JJ/Eve romance was? It may have been a major bummer in the end (with the show unable to do much more than moralize and take the easy stance) but there was something compelling there at the beginning. Wendy and Tripp have been nothing since Day One. At least I don't find them as horrible as Tripp and Haley or Tripp and Allie. So...slight improvement? Meh. Do what you gotta do. We're pretty darn loyal overall, I'd say, considering what they regularly do on this series. They have a pretty lousy track record of dealing with prejudice. Remember when Officer JJ shot Theo, who was wearing a hoodie? All around the time of the BLM movement? Yikes, that was a lame attempt to be current. JJ and Theo had no beef with one another and JJ wasn't racist so...it kinda avoided the whole point.
  22. I need to add to the list of Best Moments that intimate scene between Bill and Susan that closed out the Christmas episode. I'm so glad the show gave them (and us) those moments. RIP Bill.
