  1. Hey Ocean! I don't doubt for a second that every word you speak is true. I often expect that the people I deal with over the phone just got off the line with someone truly awful, so I try to extra pleasant/upbeat, thank them for their time, make sure they can hear me and that I'm being clear in what I'm asking, etc. I've done phone work too, and since folks can't see your face, you really have to use your voice to come across as "pleasant". ...but for real, the majority of these people just turn on you no matter what you do. The nice ones unintentionally misdirect or misinform you, while the rest just talk over you, tell you your question has been answered, and really try to dominate you. I mean, the number of times they get aggressive about "validation" when it's a question about my personal account...it's nuts. They seriously just start barking orders at you: "Tell me the amount of your last deposit and the date!" God help you if you don't remember every minute detail they're asking about. They'll say you've been frozen out - even if you know your name, birthdate, mailing address, secret phone password, what kind of account it is, when you opened it, etc, etc, etc - and then just hang up on you with a kind of glee about them. It's bizarre. Or you'll get the following, after failing their test: "Well, if YOU don't remember YOUR personal information, that's not MY problem! And now you'll be LOCKED OUT of the account for YOUR OWN SAFETY for 72 hours. Is there anything ELSE I can help you with? I think your question has been ANSWERED. THANK YOU!" ^^^ almost verbatim quotes from conversations I've had. There's no reasoning with these people. Yes, fine, sometimes there's a protocol to follow...but we're all human beings. And sometimes you have to use logic. Nobody remembers every deposit or withdrawal made in their account with computer accuracy. Quit punishing people who are who they say they are. THIS too. Listening to all the endless "press 2" prompts - made only worse in a post-covid world, where they tack-on an extra speech about hospital protocols or clinic protocols, as if none of us could have guessed that hand-washing is necessary or whatever - just drains the soul. No matter how nice someone is, getting to that person after 15 minutes of needless hell is just going to wreck you. And then, there's guessing how much time you need to resolve your issue. You can call a place up with 20 minutes before they close and STILL not have enough time to get through to the right person. In 20 minutes! True story: I called a pharmacy this week 30 minutes before they closed to ask about an alternative to a prescription and spent....3 minutes just figuring out which buttons to press (no, I'm not 80 years old), 3 minutes on hold, 5 minutes validating who I was and explaining what I needed to a clerk who then put me on hold to "ask the pharmacist"...which really meant (you guessed it) disconnecting me after leaving me on hold for 10 minutes. Then I called them back, spent 2 minutes pressing buttons, 3 minutes on hold again, then got a different clerk who put me on hold for the pharmacist, who after 4 minutes came on the phone line, listened to my issue (which the first clerk had told them nothing about apparently), only to be told "we're closing right now, can you please call back tomorrow?" *PRIMAL SCREAM*
  2. It took me way too long to grasp that one ^ Of course, I dont think of trendiness when I think of them. But then, I don't think of them. Also, this might only be speculation, but someone posted online that Ron wants to return with Bo and Hope back in Salem. It makes sense, with Doug's passing and Bo's unending resurrection storyline, but honestly I'm so fed up with Bo crap at this point, he could be a full-timer again and I wouldn't be particularly thrilled. Once he's alive and back with Hope, what does he realistically offer the narrative? He got a swanky, buzzy, other-character-sabotaging death. They should have just left him dead.
  3. Good point - I'd assume he'd be told. He loves hugging Julie and they always get a moment together.
  4. Fake eyelashes? Man, boes, I admire your restraint. Today's show offered me a thrill I was just...incapable of processing: Ben and Fristen, together, in spandex, in concert! Wow - how ever did you manage to reach directly into my mind and manifest such a perfect embodiment of everything wrong with this show? And what's this? Gwenresa, to make it a trio?! Wowsers! My stomach can hardly stand the excitement! Mixing characters who rarely interact can yield good results (Chad and Sarah), but only if there's something palatable about them as individuals. Tate, who is barely on this show, has the good sense to not want to come back to Salem. I say, grant him membership to Mensa and wish him good luck in his travels. He can't run far away fast enough. Brady and Gweresa are awful together, and have two gruesome ghouls snapping at their feet. Both their present situatuons and their futures are going to be a real shitshow. I don't intend to watch. Is the clock at the Horton house damaged? It seems greenish but I'm not sure if that's always how it's been or a recent superficial effect to make it seem "smoke damaged". I always liked the clock and hope they keep it around. It's impossible Alice's chair wasn't even smoke damaged, and the more they point that out, the sillier it gets. I appreciate every scene with Nicole now even more considering Ari probably had to suppress the urge to run screaming just to get through them. Her matching purple pjs were stupid, but Holly coming out of it and something happy finally happening in their lives was heartwarming. Kid looks good for a coma. I recently watched a video about a mother whose daughter had a medical event while driving and crashed. She fell into a coma and everyone on staff repeatedly said to pull the plug. That her quality of life would be awful even if she survived, which didn't look likely. Well, this mother calmly refused, actively cared for her daughter, day after day, week after week, and 5 years later she miraculously started waking up. Naturally the poor gal has major handicaps they are working to overcome, but she's alive and their kids have a mother again. It puts these soap comas in a very different light. Holly was out for a few weeks, of course, but still. There's always serious loss of function. It's not just a long nap. What an incredible Mom, though. Good for her.
  5. Abe, Roman, Doc and Jawn all read as 70s to me. Abe and Roman especially. I've been tuning out Paulina's story so if this is all about a transplant, how silly. I may not like the character but there are so many other potential avenues to go with her. This maudlin "she's gonna diiiieee!!" medical stuff is lame.
  6. You're right. Thank you. I appreciate the positivity!
  7. This is random, but I really need a place to vent, if you guys are open to it. I am so, so very tired of rude customer service people who answer phones. And by "answer", I mean talk over you, hang up on you, transfer you to the wrong department, repeat "can I help you? Can I help you??" like a parrot, even though you've asked your question and they just seem to not like the question or something... ...I swear, I pick up the phone now to try and call the bank, a clinic, a hospital, a government office, whatever, knowing I'll be treated like garbage and have my time wasted. I start off bracing myself for it, trying to stay calm and keep my head cool no matter how they speak to me, and I still end up getting off the phone no less than an hour later (always, no exceptions) having wasted my time and learned nothing, forced to call back again another day. The few polite and pleasant people I happen to come across are usually the ones with the least knowledge of whatever they're talking about, and give me incorrect information that I only end up hearing about later. There's just no way to win. I have never answered a phone while on the job thinking "Haha! I get to screw this person over and turn anything they say or ask into a fight!!! Muahahahaha!" I try to treat people with respect and understand them and help them. People who answer phones hold a lot of power over us because they're the middlemen (and women). And they know it. And they seem now, more than ever, to use that power to be passive aggressive or outright aggressive towards us poor fools who dare to call them up. It's.....beyond exhausting and frustrating. It feels like abuse. There's no accountability. If they hate their jobs, fine, I get it, but quit and do something that doesn't involve dealing with people. You're making life miserable for the rest of us. ...uuuuuuuuugggggghhhh. (back on hold, waiting to see if the next person will accidentally disconnect me)
  8. Ugh. Annoying. So...is Julie supposed to be recognizing him as Nick and seeing the resemblance...or not? I ask because, unless I'm mistaken, no one said anything about Bonnie looking like Adrienne for the longest time during her original run, right? That "lookalike" aspect only came into play years later once Ron took over... So, is Everett supposed to look like Bobby...but not Nick? They're just blurring it like crazy by having him in scene with Julie. Annoying. She couldn't have done that months ago? Again, annoying. Plus, whatever happened to her cousin Vito or whatever his name was? Even if she's out of the family business, I'd think there would still be someone she could turn to if she was being threatened and so was her son... Sadly, neither Marlena nor the viewers could say they felt the same way. Hey, Marlena? Maybe spend some more of your time helping your GRANDSON who was accused of drug dealing and nearly killing a girl? Yeah. Just throwing that out there. ...huh...!?! Oh, after he gets UPDATES from Nicole. English, people. Lord. I got so excited. And confused. There was a clearer way to word that, person who writes these. Annoying! Sure. Why not. Look, if we have to give this guy screentime, can't it be as an extra buying flowers in the town square? And that's it? ...I might be feeling annoyed today.
  9. I felt Sheri in the housefire/flashback episode last week...but as long as the show insists on certain plot directions (Wendy and Tripp, for instance) and on using certain characters (Stefan, Ava, Gwenresa, etc) there's only so much she can do. Honestly, while Clyde is being used well, I really just don't care about this drug plot.... or that the Spectator is investigating it, or that Stephanie's boyfriend with memory issues works for the Spectator, or that Holly and Tate got sucked into it. Yeah, ok, they're all talking about interconnected stuff, which is a testament to Sheri, but half the characters could leave the series without explanation and the other half could get better storylines and I'd be much happier. It won't happen though. I wonder what we'd be seeing now if Sheri were the actual showrunner, free to fire or bring back whomever she prefers to use, and Ron was a thing of the past...
  10. Soooo....Everett is Doc's new son, Steve was pretending to be Konstantin's Daddy, Harris kidnapped and tortured Ava, Wendy lost a baby and EJ and Nicole are struggling with their marriage. ...I mean, decent guesses AI, but don't quit your day job.
  11. He's Kristen. Or maybe he's Hope with a face mask and malfunctioning brain chip. ....seriously, how do 70 year old lifelong DOOL fans follow this tripe?
  12. I remember seeing some clip years ago of Will helping EJ with his campaign or something...and the subtext was crystal clear. The actors were smirking, eyeing each other...the whole deal. It was obvious. I had to laugh. Especially since Will was technically older than EJ....but here he was, as some kind of sexy stepdad 😄
  13. Seriously. Generally-speaking, aren't Asian families particular about who their kids date and marry? Especially in the case of their daughters? Especially when they're from wealthy families? It's pretty surprising that with Li dead, Wendy's managed to stay in Salem on her own, with no family around, even though her father ran DiMera for years and is loaded.
  14. Can we include Eli and please leave out BenAlex? Please? He really needs to cover up, at this point. We know he has abs. Everyone knows 🙄 Here's a direct quote from the article: "Knowing Dattilo’s as a prankster, how much skin the cast of Days of Our Lives will be showcased is unknown." English. 👏
  15. Just watched it and yup, that's already one of the best episodes of the year. Very well done. Great sense of history. I feel like I finally know the whole Horton family overview. And the flashbacks were fantastic. So, so glad they did that. Leo is a turd, but sure, fine, he was bearable. ....did anyone else wonder if his voiceover while reading the article about someone awful "setting fire to their legacy!" was a bit of a meta dig at Ari Z? I guess Albert A was fired by this point, right? And Ari's lawyer helped her return to her job, hence Nicole being back...so...could this whole "house burned down/family attacked" plot be a dig at her ruining DOOL's legacy on the part of Corday? I mean, if the house set was in disrepair and needed updating and they just happened to use this as the moment to make that change, okay. Buuuut...... 🤔
  16. That is so cool !!! Thank you for sharing, I'd have never known. ...I'm a bit surprised at the guest list though. Only two major characters will be present from the last decade of the series: Michael Hudson and Felicia Gallant. That's great and all - love them - and I'm not sneering at vets from the 70s or 80s by any means but....no Cass? No Frankie? Marley? Lorna? Joe? Gary? Sharlene? Lucas? Grant? Donna? Amanda? Rachel?? I have no clue where anyone lives, mind you, but if they're hoping for a good turnout, hopefully some more of the big "A Names" get involved. It would be so, so nice to see more of the "recent" vets attending. (You know what I mean) Let's see...I think I heard Tom Eplin is very much out of acting, and Jensen is too and had that drunk driving arrest thing happen semi-recently...Wyndham seemingly wants nothing to do with the fandom, from what little I've heard, and just sculpts in LA or something....Judi Evans works occasionally at DAYS so therefore lives in or near LA, so this would be a long trip... Question about the actual show: I was watching the scenes where Joe tells Donna that Michael has died (brutal, fantastic acting from Anna Stuart), and I was looking at the set for Donna's house and thinking....isn't that the set for Cass's house too? By 1999, a year later, he's in a strikingly similar home entertaining Lila, and Anne O'Donnell, and Charlie. ....if it IS Donna's place (which she had for years and years, going back to the Anne Heche era) did they ever explain how Cass ended up there? Donna was essentially living at Vicky's cottage for the last months of the show... Am I just confusing two sets? Or did it suddenly become Cass' place?
  17. That was too dark. If he'd stayed on that path he wouldn't still be on the show right now. He'd have become irredeemable fast.
  18. Holy shit...! Did Maggie and Marlena share a scene!? 😲 Ok I didn't realize this episode was happening today. Will have to watch it in full and report back.
  19. It may only be speculation. Clyde arranging it would make a little more sense. But what did Chad fail to do, as per the threatening call afterwards?
  20. If Corday is mismanaging the show, but he solely owns the show, how do things improve? He'd have to sell it to someone else?
  21. Paulina should put some of that cash to use on a decorator for that hideous apartment of hers then. And maybe an alternate wig. Does someone else in the family get to be interim mayor now that Paulina is indisposed? Maybe Big Mama?
