Woah Chad...is this whole thing about using Jordan when he wanted Jar Jar a retcon? The fear in Theresa's eyes at the start of this episode was everything. Really made the stakes feel higher.

Hmmmm....Marlena goes through a traumatic ordeal? Could she be the one to give Victor the order to kill Kristin? I'm starting to think Victor will tell his men in Italy to take her out....which would be hugely anticlimactic after all these years.

Gotta say, I'm nervous for Kristin now that she's pulled a gun on Brady. Dramatically speaking, doesn't that signal the end of her story? I don't want her going out like this....

To try and say something positive, I kinda like Dr. Mandrake. His line deliveries are weak and off, but that seems to add to his creepster vibe, which is strong. He is a decent alternative to Rolfe, the hyper helper. Remember him?? Does the show go to lengths to make Brady seem stupid or what? He searches the whole castle (!!!) finding nothing, while Melpops her head in the front door , spots the secret passage and finds the baby, all without breaking a sweat or getting Kristin's dander upr

Sixx, you are so right about that stupid plastic "outdoor" corner of set. Mel having to point wasn't funny because we didn't even get a CG or photo shot of some castle afterwards. And how the heck would the nurse have walked up and down a mountain to and from work every day?

I tuned in today hoping for something decent...nope. AWFUL writing. Eileen looked bored. She wrung a bit of emotion out of her "I keep making mistakes" bit, but this was amateur script hour otherwise. It was like an SNL parody of a soap. JJ talking to himself about sleeping with a mother/daught duo, Serena leaving Tan's front door open to search for diamonds, Brady "playing" Kristin.....lamer than lame.

Happy 15 pages! (Also, I never knew you were a GIRL. I assumed you were a guy.) Finally watched the La Jolla Hunchback bootleg and....it was....in need of an experienced director. It really felt like the actors were left to sink or swim on their own. Hellfire was bland as hell. Didn't think they could get that number wrong, but they did. Overall, Frollo's singing voice was terrific but his characterization was really sympathetic and sad...not scary. That didn't work. Esmeralda was the standout. Passionate performance, great voice, just terrific. And unexpected - she really isn't the kind of actress I thought would get the part, from her attitude to her physicality. You'd think they'd hire a dancer who can sing well, really thin and maybe European. It was a pleasant surprise to see her rock it up there. I HATED the narration. The ensemble were royally misused to fill in gaps everywhere. The moving of the props around (and in the climax especially!!!) was infuriating. They dropped the three Gargoyles to create an ARMY of people with the exact same dialogue? Dumb move. The whole *SPOILER* idea of Frollo's brother was rushed, half-baked and unneeded. Nun said. I was moved in the end though. The music is still powerful and so is the story. I'm just really glad they didn't move this to Broadway. Set aside, it would have still crashed and burned. Waaaaay too much of a Community Theatre vibe here.

I saw some bits of today's show - Kate can ACT. Great seeing her cry. Great seeing her regret meddling in her grown son's life. (NOTE: I haven't watched this storyline at all because I don't think Adrienne has any chemistry with Lucas, but still...I applaud good acting when I see it on this show!) Victor is hilarious and awesome. Why do they write him SO WELL and crash and burn with everyone else?? Nice seeing Hope look happy.

Um, I haven't read the details but I assumed he'd play the dentist...the other guy named is a more natural Seymour. Interesting. Gleb is a boring name and could be a boring character and bring the show down. Hope they really worked out the book to include him in Rasputin's place and not make him unimportant to the narrative. Also: hope he gets a cool song! Great music in this film/show, and Rasputin's Dark of the Night will be missed.

I strangely liked Melanie in the way she told Brady. I don't follow how she figured it all out, but the actress did a great job of trying to make it work. Not looking forward to see ED have to lay into another woman though. It's gotten old. First she hates Marlena (why isn't she involved in this story somehow? That would be much more interesting!), then she hates Theresa, and now Melanie. I'm SO TIRED of the jealous woman trope on this show. You're not alone - I just realized Victor's house is super small now, too. I hope they didn't trash the old sets or anything drastic. They're built! Keep 'em!

Well, I understand she wants the mother's marrow because it's a match, but strangers could also be a match. And considering the risks (implausible risks!) that she took stealing Theresa's baby, why not spend a million or two finding a match who CAN'T identify the baby as a stolen one? Going after Theresa just ensures more trouble, and you'd think she would want to stay out of sight and just raise her kid in peace. I don't know all the details about marrow transplants, but I do know they are no walk in the park for either party. I guess I just question the way they revealed Kristin's plot these last three days. She could have just said, "Theresa's an easy match and we can kill her afterwards." But no...just random babbling and teasing for three days. Oy. My big issue is the way the show used to lavish attention on the details - the little things that make a story unique and personal and interesting for the viewer. Kristin finally has a BABY OF HER OWN. That's resolution to a plotline begun twenty some odd years ago! But do we see her carrying the baby to term? Nope. Do we see her looking deliriously happy and thrilled and bonding with her kid? Nope. Just a few seconds of her holding the thing and almost sneering and then sipping wine and talking about her next kidnapping. Kristin used to be a well-rounded character. Where has that gone? She wasn't flatly "evil" when she started out and that was what made her interesting - you could see how a good person gets wrapped up in a crazy scheme. I'm pretty sure there are still plenty of Kristin fans out there who would enjoy seeing her happy for a second or two. And that would make her eventual defeat more bittersweet and interesting. Even her new home - it looks cool, but there is no real introduction to the Secret Door to the Nursery, is there? Old School Days would have taken a moment and shown us that. Here's it's just in the shot and if you blinked you missed it. The Secret Room in the 90s was cool because it was well teased and set-up. They've introduced this marrow plot and haven't even really explained to the audience what it will entail for the baby and why it's so urgent. More time is spent on Kristin saying "I have a plan!!11!" or "You'll see!111!" or "I didn't say she was leaving!?!" just to keep us on what the producers believe is the edge of our seats. Monkey writing.

Seriously. I think Sonny may be the only remotely likeable character. And I'm almost happy he's hightailing it out of town. I'd hate living in Salem too!

They really could be doing a better job of explaining why Theresa is vital to the bone marrow transplant. But then, Kristin should have enough resources to grab marrow from anyone else on the planet. It's such lazy writing. If they made it clear Kristin felt she had to kill her because she knew the whole story, that would make a BIT more sense.

Well, at least I liked Kritter...errr..I mean Kristin's awesome mansion set and her two henchmen. Otherwise her dialogue was flat and ED looked bored. And why is she ALWAYS in leopard print and swirling wine??? So unoriginal. We didn't even get a new hairdo this time!

...well...gee...can't wait to see that! Can we maybe get Kristin trussed up in a lemon-yellow beach bathrobe too while we're at it? Oh, oh can she weep at Marlena's feet while Brady and John tell her what a worthless piece of tush she is? Cause that would just be FUN FUN FUN! Holy BLEEPING BLEEP BLEEP - this show SUCKS. Don't they understand that we're supposed to like the heroes and ALSO like the villains?!???

Caught parts of the show today. The Great: Aiden and Hope looking happy and eating, Sonny telling Will to stuff it, and the editing at the end was decent and created some impact. The Bad? Will can't act or emote and is detestable, Paul's mother seems equally bad and she just got to town, Marlena acting like a deity, all smug about a decidedly weird situation, John being Farty as usual and creepy Rapist Dad now being buddy buddy with his son. UGH. And lets not even start with

IslandGal, I'm kinda with you. I thought we might see Kristin nervously trying to manage a high-risk pregnancy, and that that would make her more human and sympathetic again. She used to have so much dimension. Is ED really only back for ten episodes total this year? If so...how much will really be done with her storyline? I hope she doesn't just lose her baby and disappear.

It would have to be SORASed for it to be Brady and Kristin's offspring, as she will claim....but what kinda lousy explanation will we get for how she carried it to term?? Black Magic??! DEAR SHOW: you already established her BABY MAKER IS BROKE. Still, yay for more ED.
