  1. All along they've made Haley the younger Claire. And Andy is the younger Phil. If I was a betting girl I bet many of the same folks who say they don't see why Claire is with Phil, don't get the Haley- Andy pairing. He's sweet and goofy and willing to go the extra mile for his girlfriend. Haley has watched her dad be just like that to her mom her whole life. Makes sense to me.
  2. It was funny and made me laugh. I'm not looking for realism here! There are a number of custom closet companies out there, Closet Factory and California Closets come to mind. We used one of them when we redid all the bedroom closets in our previous house. DIdn't see any TV advertising for them, true, but lots of flyers and magazine ads. Those aren't as funny to film though!
  3. Thought it was a lot of fun. Thought Mitchell looked like that self portrait of Van Gogh in the straw hat.
  4. Excellent episode. I wish Abby had a moment to tell Grace we have a black president. She would've liked that.
  5. Well, that was disturbing. Didn't, ahem, see that coming.
  6. Shut up, Brandi.
  7. First episode I've caught this season, but has Vanessa been this stalky over Anthony Bourdain the whole time? She's kinda scary.
  8. Awesome twist!
  9. Very funny episode. Many lol moments.
  10. The first episode explains about the show being a documentary being filmed, but, like The Office, it's gone on long enough and it's too complete (bedroom scenes?) to be credible. But that's ok, I love the talking head parts best!
  11. Luke put the turkey in the oven while Phil's back was turned.
  12. I really enjoyed this one. We had a lot of lough-out-loud moments. Thought the end bit with Hailey losing it in the car was great.
  13. Lily ripping up her poster "Mrs Plank doesn't tolerate mistakes!" "Blello?" Funny stuff.
  14. When we lived in CA the school cutoff was Sept 1. We moved to CT the year before my son started school and the cutoff was 12/31 of that year. My daughter had a bunch of late-year-birthday kids (who were 4) in her Kindergarten class. Often parents delay starting school for their sept, nov, dec bday kids, especially if they're boys, to give them time to mature. I assumed Jr turned 13 at some earlier date (since they didn't show a family party for him) but just learned about bar mitzvahs or just decided then he wanted one. His school maybe a grades 6-12 school, (especially if it's private, divided into a lower and upper school), so he may have become aware of bar/bat mitzvahs from a child in the lower school.
  15. I loved the debate about the pros and cons of and whether Jack was responsible enough to care for his imaginary-homeless-person-didn't-get-spanked dog.
  16. In her defense, Dylan did say it right in front of her as they were coming into the school. I did laugh at how annoyed Christina was at Dylan- exactly what kinds of kids did she expect to have at the school? I hope they have a school therapist, who should be helping troubled kids transition to a new school.
  17. Wait- are the twins named Jack and Diane? As in "a little ditty 'bout..." I must have misheard.
  18. I thought the show was going to pull a "ThirtySomething" when Crosby wiped out on his motorcycle. I am very glad that didn't happen! I thought Julia did what had to be done. Joel was putting her in an awkward situation. Joel was trying to push his way back in without actually finding out where they stand or what Julia wants. He left, he told her he wasn't working on the marriage, he wants to reconnect... It can't just be about him. Good episode- and Hank's ex-wife was right. Hank was supposed to be with his daughter. Parenting her. He let Sarah take over because it was convenient. It was a nice thing for Sarah to have tried to do, but Hank has to step and be the parent.
  19. Well, Amy basically admitted that she did tell Adrienne what happened at some point. Then Adrienne spilled the beans. So Amy is talking behind Kat's back, Adrienne is talking behind Amy and Kat's backs and Kat is talking behind Amy's back. Enough gossip guilt to go around!
  20. Did anyone else flashback to Lorelei/Luke/April when now Sarah/Hank/Ruby is a messy issue (Hank now has an unexpected daughter to take up more of his time and bond with)? Granted the specifics are different, but he'll now have Ruby half time and she's been away for a awhile, so he'll need time to focus on her and maybe cool it with Sarah...
  21. Definitely liked it. Good catch on the Jr age thing- my son was oldest in his class and his bar mitzvah was in 7th grade. But there's no rule that when you have to mark the occasion (in fact, becoming a bar or bat mitzvah doesn't require you to do anything except turn 12/13). So he may just have decided that at 14 or so he "wanted" one after making some Jewish friends at school.
  22. Well said. Sad.
  23. I just hope they don't "Mary Sue" her. For a pilot, I liked it. It engaged me enough that I'm still interested in watching. If it keeps going down the path that she always has the best plan, cleverest approach etc, it'll get old fast. (Plus they did some filming on my campus this summer, so I"m looking for location shots!).
  24. Eh, as a former Girl Scout leader I've heard precocious kids talk like that (clinically insane!). She seems like a sweet kid. I'm not a huge fan of Finn's accent, but all the kids seem really nice, so far. I am so happy Gibson's doing well, especially if he's been picked on in school. I hope he doesn't get arrogant. I'm impressed how resilient the kids appear.
  25. She said he was insane because he liked snails and all the other kids were going on about them being gross. It was a gentle poke. I love how supportive and honest the kids are with each other. Even the two boys who went head to head high-fived each other after finishing their presentations. It's nice to see the kids look like average kids and act like good kids. It's a fun show to watch.
