  1. All the yurts I've been in have had electricity so that didn't seem odd to me that theirs would. Admittedly, I've only been in a few. I'm assuming there's more than one place out in Joshua Tree that has yurts like this though -- you can probably find a couple on airbnb. So is it just normal for parents to take off and ditch their kids on a whim? it seems to be on this show. Although Helen made arrangements for hers to stay with Noah, I wouldn't be surprised if she was already in the car when she called.
  2. The guests have raved about Adam's fish every time, so I think he is cooking it correctly. I do think he can be more creative though - for instance he could do a salt crusted fish instead of just the simple sautee he seems fond of. It's still very simple to make, but it looks so impressive when you serve it, is a fairly common prep in the med, and is so delicious with a fresh caught local fish. The best fish I've ever had was a salt crusted branzino I had in Burano that was caught in the lagoon that morning and when they brought it out to us people from other tables gathered round to watch them crack open the salt and portion out the the whole fish for serving because it is a spectacle. I'm so glad that I was able to talk my dad and brother into having it because we needed multiple people to order. They were worried because it sounds like it would be salty, but once I explained you don't eat the salt they were on board. It really was a simple meal -- we just had fresh roasted veggies and fresh bread with it, but it was delicious, local, and memorable.
  3. I think so. The twice baked potato was specifically requested.
  4. Kathryn may not be using it as an excuse, but it seems like in this thread and others a lot of people are using her age, mental illness, and addiction issues as an excuse for her behavior. We'll have to just have to disagree on that. In the same vein, I don't think Kathryn is demanding applause and adulation for finally doing the bare minimum to be a decent human being, but other people are going a bit overboard on the kadooz for it. Why shouldn't Ashley get a pass, it's being used as an excuse for Kathryn by many. Maybe not deserving of a parade, but at least deserving of a pillow
  5. It's a BMW. It went in for an oil change a couple hundred miles ago and apparently residue from that maintenance work was keeping the gasket from getting a good seal. It really was not a big deal except if I hadn't been what I thought was overly cautious and taken it in, I probably would have either been stranded on my next trip and/or locked the engine up. I could have channeled my inner Housewife and gone crazy on them, but I'm not really upset about it and it's too hot to screech for no reason (something a HW would never say!). I am kind of annoyed that my driveway has oil stains now and I would have been pissed had the engine seized and fairly angry had I been stranded and needed a tow. The car that was in the shop during the power outage was a different car and it was in the shop because it was t-boned, not due to break-down. Some of the newer Kias look pretty sweet. My mom always has Hondas and hers last forever with hardly any problems. I don't know what I'd get if I had a HW budget. A hotel I stayed at last summer was next to an Aston Martin dealer and they were pretty sweet and I'm not tired of seeing them like I am a lot of cars (I live in LA). Some of the new electric cars are sweet too. I think of all the NY HW's, I'm most envious of Tinsley's lifestyle. As someone said up thread, she's easy going and just kind of floats through life without doing a lot of heavy lifting because of her money. I think Bethenny might have more money, but her life seems like a shit sow (of her own making).
  6. I think that's actually the part of the beer business he has the most experience in (aside from tasting).
  7. I don't know if there s a site, but the picture posted is from instagram and if you hover over it you should get arrows to scroll through (or just use your finger to scroll on a phone or tablet) because it is a post with multiple pictures. You don't even have to click to go to instagram, you should be able to do it right here in the thread.
  8. Jellyfish are tropical and are possibly the new llamas, which were the new hedgehogs, which were the new octopuses, which were the new owls. So as a few people said, basic bitch. ETA, but I'm kinda basic because I like his cans
  9. It made me think of a few of the Ballast Point varieties that have sea life on the cans or bottles.
  10. If you scroll through the photos, the cans all say Trop Hop as it is the beer name. King's Calling Brewing Co is the "brewery" name. That acorn is supposed to be hops wearing a crown because o the king in the name.
  11. I was a Nielsen viewer back in the 90s. I was very excited about it. More recently, my dog was a Nielsen viewer -- she doesn't even watch TV and can only work the remote with her butt. Her sister at least watches TV (she likes to bark at anything with animals or babies). I had already grown leering of the ratings system, but them using my dog as a sample point really did it :) I learned, but the one time I needed to change a tire I couldn't get the lug nuts to budge and I was wearing white jeans. It was a disaster and some nice man had to come help me. I've been complaining all week because while I'm not a mechanic I know my way around an engine enough to check fluids and top things off, but I noticed my car was leaking something on Monday so I opened it up and it might as well have been a rocket ship. It doesn't even have a dipstick, everything is electronic and all the sensors kept saying everything was fine. When I pulled into the dealership on Tuesday morning oil was pouring out of it, but still no alert. The car has 5500 miles on it, so it's unexpected that it'd have an issue like this and the sensors were saying everything's fine and I couldn't figure how to check manually, so I'm glad I went in even though I thought I was being an overly cautious idiot. I'm going to sound like an old (because I am!), but keep it. You'll need it for some kind of event or emergency. We had a power outage and my cell was dead and my car was in the shop so I couldn't go out and charge in it, so I was happy to have the landline to report the outage.
  12. Also, between this show and RHONY, I'm getting ads for rehab now. I guess it's better than when I was getting fibroid ads.
  13. She really does just keep doubling down. How does she think that's a good idea? Even if it isn't illegal, at the very least it's tacky.
  14. I'm not saying she should be forever tarnished, but I also don't think she deserves a parade for doing what should be the bare minimum. I think that while everything Ashley said was probably at least technically correct, it wasn't her place to say any of it. I agree that she probably felt backed into a corner, at least at first in Hilton Head. Then she didn't handle it properly the next day and kind of doubled down on being an asshole. She had ammo against Kathryn, not the group. I'm not saying they were nasty or confrontational toward Ashley, it's all much subtler than that. It's more like pointed comments not technically directed at the person, eye rolls, huffs, sighs, groans, giggles - all designed to make the outsider feel excluded while allowing plausible deniability for the mean girls. If you are not familiar enough with it to recognize the behavior, then lucky you. Actually, they dealt with worse. And it wasn't at the drop of a hat for all destructive behaviors, but anything that could harm me was stopped as soon as I was a known entity, even while abortion was being contemplated. I have addiction and mental illness on both sides of my family, so that may be why I have so little tolerance of using it as an excuse for harming others.
  15. I'd wait too to see how things shake out if I were her.
  16. Right? I thought it was from Vintage Logos For Hipsters, but that one doesn't have hops. I wish I had time to search and figure out which pack it was from, but alas, I don't.
  17. Thomas's legal troubles were from a decade before the kids were born and didn't directly cause the kids harm. I don't think anyone can say the same about Kathryn's drug use, not even her. I'm also so sick of hearing about how young she was. She was an adult. People younger than her have kids all the time and act more mature -- maybe not dumpster fire of a person Farrah Abraham, but that's a low bar . Was I doing stupid shit in my early 20s? Yep! But I didn't have kids to take care of. I know my parents used to like to party back in the day. In fact, I know my mom dropped acid while pregnant with me because she didn't know she was pregnant yet. Once she found out she was pregnant all nonsense ceased and those fools (my parents) grew the fuck up even though they were only 19 and 20. It doesn't deserve accolades, it's what you should do if you decide to take on the responsibility of bringing a child into this world.
  18. Good on him for getting his branding together, that's a hard first step. I'm LOLing though because his logo is totally from some logos for millennials pack on Design Cuts or Creative Market - I ope he didn't pay too much for it. The can concepts look nice.
  19. A few years ago there was a big rally not to call girls bossy anymore and I was like "why the fuck not, I'm a boss." Even more off topic, but one thing that drove me super nuts about the series Girlboss is it was implied that the titular girlboss was being treated differently because she was a girl, but it was probably more because she was an immature and irrational, shitty person. Maybe the message was all 'girls' are immature and irrational but allowances should be made for them, but I hope not. I'm not saying I haven't been flawed before, but I like to believe it's because I'm a human, not because I'm a girl. Ashley's an asshole, but the main focus of the girl power group was shit talking her and icing her out from episode 1. She actually tried to be nice to Kathryn at first -- she over stepped, but she tried. I don't recall her being really nasty until after the mean girl freeze out. It's subtle, but the groans, sighs, eyerolls, giggles, and indirect shit talking ("Oh, I wish we could ride faster" with a pointed look at Ashley, etc.) are all there from the girl power gang. She's unbalanced and a disaster, but she was poked and just because she's a loon doesn't mean the girl power gang aren't all assholes.
  20. I'm so sick of "you should never say that to a mother" and "that's no way to talk to a woman" etc. How about just that's no way to talk to another person? There's nothing magical about being a woman or spitting out a kid that means people should talk to you differently.
  21. I think most of the time the problem with lidocaine is actually a sensitivity to epinephrine. If you warn the doctor first they can use some kind of saline solution instead for simple procedures. I don't remember what they used last year when I went to the ER for dropping a knife on my foot, but I severed all the nerves, so maybe they just cleaned me out and stitched me up without numbing, lol. Before I knew the anesthetic was causing me problems, I just thought I was a baby with a propensity to get nauseous and pass out when having stuff done. I'd warn them and when possible they'd just put my head lower than my feet, hurry up and do what they needed to do, and leave me to lay there until I was no longer light headed and could get up and move around. I can use lidocaine topically, so it never occurred to me that it was the problem until one time a nurse told me what my problem was. I have problems at the dentist with novocaine and when I get my eyes dilated at the eye doctor too. At the dentist they just give me a minute to relax after the shots and at the eye doctor they use weaker drops. I think it isn't that uncommon and at least for me wasn't a big deal once I understood what was happening. Good luck on your surgery.
  22. I don't know if I'd put Porsha in the category of being incapable of any real meanness, she's been in several physical fights on TV and went around telling people that Kandi tried to rape her. It could be that Carole realized Bethenny brings all the drama on herself and just doesn't feel like putting up with it any longer.
  23. Or maybe it was Sarah Evelyn Bram who was the costume designer for the episode of Hollywood Medium that Carole was on https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4016808/ Or Evelyn Crowley that wrote the intro for and maybe transcribed this interview Carole did with Ellen Barkin https://www.violetgrey.com/violet-files/wiretapped/ellen-barkin
