  1. Kadeem.... My thoughts exactly on a second viewing. Vivian showed her crazy and Kelly questioned her ability to handle the pressure. I think had she just said she was off her game because her name kept getting called, she would have at least lasted another night. Of course, there is no way to know for sure. But Vivian yanked out that poem so early, kelly had to realize this was for attention and drama (and air time). I like Ashley, but I fear she or Callie will turn into another Emily from Olivia's rookie season. Selected for looks and then constantly called out.
  2. How funny would it be if Vivian showed up the next night and said, but you never said it was my last night? And I'm a special snowflake who listens to every breath that passes from your lips!
  3. Haven't other girls gotten called in for the first time for the entrance and then cut? Damn getting old sucks. My memory is not what it used to be. Or it at least put people on their radar...?
  4. If the runway show is filmed twice, how did Sean's model get through without the dress changing color last week? And don't they keep the same models?
  5. And I am not about knocking kids, but these are model aspirants. Emily's little girl was a little drama queen who wanted attention. While the other girls stayed in their roles regardless of the critique, Emily's was exaggerating whatever the judges were saying. The others stayed in character, even during a negative review. It was only at the end that Sandyha's said she wasn't thrilled about the peplum. Damn you PR for making me root for Korina to win this one. With two days I think iit could have been great. Undeniably kinks was gorgeous, but very close to the girls original dress.
  6. Sandyha is all about female empowerment in a male dominated society. She got the perfect doll. Nothing about that onesie conveyed strong female. I expected Tim to give Sean's doll to Amanda since the producers are protecting her a bit. I'm glad I was wrong.
  7. I don't think it was Megan Flaherty, but I do think it was around the same time. Someone got cut and was angry they kept her in TC so long and Judy was upset because they did that to see if she could grow. This season, I think IIRC that several of these girls on the bubble were asked by Kelly if they wanted more time to see what could happen....and I think Alexandra was in that group. Again, IIRC she said, of course. Then again, I could be wrong and it all could have been a lucid dream. Nothing and I mean NOTHING bugs me more than when someone defines a word without you asking him to. It went downhill from there. And the: I wasn't the only one. ??? Seriously. Try that on a cop who pulled you over for speeding. It is the same words of a child who gets called out for talking in class. Vivian, get over yourself. I agree with above posters about the mirror checking. I can only imagine there would be some preening if you transformed your body. But the biggest transformation was before the first audition. It was the fat of youth, not her college years. She should be used to it by now. There was not a marked transformation in the past year. She just toned this year. But even with the mirror watching. I get the impression there was something else she was projecting in the locker room or behind the scenes. And don't even get me started in that self serving poem. O. M. G. I did like Kelly's reflections on chandler's and Alexandra's departures. It seemed genuine. And despite chandlers wrinkles, there is something about her that clearly touches people. The girls in the group hug begged her to come back next year. I get the impression that she is like a Mackenzie. Someone that is good for the team. I think kelli Fullerton would have been the same if not for the technique. If Breelan makes the team it will be for hair diversity. She has a good look. But unless she can mature, she will be a 1 and done.
  8. Bye, Vivian. I have no words. Just...nope. No words. I think Melissa R sees herself in Breelan. Her mentorship has focused on the ladies who seem in danger of letting the psychological component to this process lead to their demise. That is why I think she has targeted a small group....those girls who may not have the confidence to pull through. The others I think meet with vets or each other to practice the moves. Melissa R seems to be the cheerleader for the potential cheerleaders. And while at times it seems staged (obviously) I think this type of mentoring serves a function ...and is less uncomfortable to watch than previous staged meetings between TCCs and vets. My heart broke for Alexandra and Chandler. I hope they continue to work on their technique to return. Their graceful departures made Vivian's even worse.
  9. My DVR didn't work so I have to wait for On Demand. But in following this thread, I am devastated over Fade. Based on what I am reading, it appears the judges criticized that designers referenced other designers. I don't understand the issue with this. If you did an entire collection or even a single garment that is a 3D carbon copy of another, yes it is unoriginal and stealing. But is it really that bad to be inspired by another designer? Is it really possible for something aesthetically pleasing to be completely original? I didn't google the exact quote, but I believe a philosopher once said that if you had 1000 monkeys typing for 1000 hours over some course of years ( and I know I have these numbers wrong...but it is the point of the thing) that one if them would by chance recreate the entirety of Shakespeare's Hamlet. I just don't know how many times the wheel can be recreated. And while I don't like Sean's smug arrogancem it sounds like his dress did something unexpected. The designer McQueen used robots and surely had more than two days to conceive and design it. It isn't as though these designers know what the challenges are in advance and can come in with preconceived ideas ( except perhaps for the textile or inspiration challenge). How some of them come up wit these so quickly I will never know. But that is why they are ALL artists IMHO. and I fully know that I will be thinking of that Afro circus giraffe when I finally see S's pinwheel dress.
  10. Regarding an individual who wins fan favorite every week, it is funny that we seldom comment on Alexander aside from his open mouth, dazed look. It is almost as though the FF is producer driven as well. But that would NEVER happen, right?
  11. Kelly was roasted again on The Soup. This time over cutting Megan for being too stocky for the uniform. I am paraphrasing slightly, but Joel McHale said the only thing Megan is too fat to be is maybe a stalk of wheat.
  12. Good points, RealityGal. The truth is, we will never know the real truth.
  13. Char openly mocked Amanda in the workroom by a sarcastic parroting of something Amanda said, and then said to everyone that she was mocking her. This followed with these smug little mean girls smirks shared with Korina and Char...and having Amanda excuse herself to go find something and leave the room to cry. I was impressed by Amanda's dignity in the situation, actually. She didn't cry in front of them. And, yes, we did not hear Char say that Amanda's win deprives the other judges, but Char pretty much confessed it after getting the save by saying she understands Amanda more bc they both got second chances. I do not believe Amanda made up what was said at all. We didn't hear it bc PR is not wasting the manpower or money by having the cameramen in their rooms at all time. I think they get there in the morning and that is all we see...unless they are expecting drama. You can bet that Kini went home that night and bitched to one if s roommates about Sean. PR would have shown it if they bothered to tape it. Just MHO Weary Traveler....sorry that I echoed you...we must have been typing at the same time, lol!
  14. Mackenzie's kicks were low but I think between Brittany (not Schram....the one with the high voice) and other vets on the squad, Kelly and Judy knew how much she was working on the problem. In addition, Mackenzie's dancing rivaled some of the vets during training camp...and that was in the words of Kelly and Judy. She brought something to the team more than just great power and projection. Her personality was good for the squad. Judy told Christina in week one that her kick technique was wrong. I still don't know why the girl did not seek out a vet to help her....or that former DCC who occasionally pops in who is primarily a kicking coach. If you keep practicing with the wrong technique, you will not improve. Speaking of kicks, I'm surprised that Alexandra wasn't called in for hers. After a second viewing, I now see Chandler as Sydney 2.0. I can't unsee it now. Finally, I think Vivian's shtick is to be the victim / to get a pity play. Last year, her audition backstory revolved around her being chubby in her youth and having to struggle back from that. Then she got reamed by kitty over Tin Man. (And I still think that was totally bs. If that wasn't planned on her part, she would not have had a new routine by auditions...which is why she didn't revise her solo this year when criticized again). Now it's the boyfriend. And after her crappy rehearsal, she actually had the audacity to disagree with Kelly, claiming she is a more powerful dancer now ?!?!
  15. The randomness by which some of these atrocities are winning make me think that Swatch is a silent judge. I think whichever one he pees on is labeled the winner. It makes as much sense to me as how the judges are actually awarding their wins.
  16. Britney needs to have a hamburger and fries. What fun house mirror glasses are Kelly and Judy wearing?!? But she always knows what to say without sounding practiced or rehearsed. She is a great ambassador for the organization. And I wonder if Paige needs a different workout rather than a different diet. Chandler looked so tired. Not a pleasant close up! Poor girl! Vivian. Oh Vivian. Please stop. I wonder if the salon wanted to cut Loren's hair but were afraid of too much change for her too soon. Christina reminds me of the high school girls I coached....always having an injury to avoid doing things they weren't strong at or didn't want to do. If she was still in pain 4 weeks later, she should have sought out a PT. Poor Nicole B. Clearly she was hurt...but still you must plaster in that big DCC smile and pretend all is well. I don't think I've ever seen a girl break the link up though. Even when Clarissa jumped too early seasons ago, Alex stayed in formation next to her. Nicole must have been in pain or very worried about a serious injury. Mary looked beautiful after her make over. So did Alexandra. Wished we could see more dancing. Too much cutting away. I would have especially loved to see the dance by the new choreographer.
  17. I am now convinced more than ever that this show is in tight budget mode. It explains why there are only one day challenges...even for a gala dress to highlight million dollar diamonds. And they threw a field trip in as part of that same day to give them even less time (unless it was edited to fool us). AND I am now convinced to save money, Alex won the fan favorite week one..,and they aren't even using the results of polls any more so that they can use the same graphic and voice over every week to avoid wasting the resources to do another.
  18. One of my friends said something that I hadn't considered....in all of the genres the contestants are asked to do, they are not challenged to do tap -- unless they are tappers. It made me reconsider my feelings on Val being in the top 4. But tonight, I feel she should have placed 4. Well done, Ricky, and congratulations to all of these talented dancers.
  19. I agree that he is probably in the anger part of the stages of grief. But this is a dance show. How about focusing on those 4 poor kids who have to awkwardly stand there when the judges start blathering on. And he is the worst because he is ALWAYS talking about things other than how they dance. Giving the choreographers feedback is appropriate...albeit sometime it is drivel (like telling Travis to "shut up"). But those kids want to know what they did well and how they should improve. And if there is extra time for filling up with judge talk, add more of those choreo tips. When you are in the public forum, you need to watch your words. He didn't. I feel his pain and frustration....but he needs to keep his POV in check for a more appropriate time to share.
  20. As for Amanda trying to sabotage Korina with the pants....it is passive aggressive enough for her ( I don't think it is in her nature to be overtly bitchy or cruel) but I really don't think that was her motivation. If she had immunity, perhaps...but if the pants were a complete disaster, she would have been blamed. Amanda gives the vibe ( pun fully intended here) that she is confident, but I don't believe it. I think she is putting on that mask bc she came across so insecure the last time. She also does try to be friendly, even when people are directly cruel to her. I see this more as her way of trying to prove she is a good person to Korina and not worthy of her scorn. Also, if they did make the top two by some alignment of the stars, you know she, unlike kino, would claim ownership of both two garments to make her the clear contender for the win. And if they were in the bottom two, Korina would have thrown her under the bus and backed over her several times. I think since this was a true 11th hour save, she used her own models measurements out of stupidity or rushing. If she wanted to sabotage Korina, all she would have to do is nothing and let the model walk out sans pants. That would fully be on Korina.
  21. I wonder....if we challenge Korina to the ALS ice water challenge, maybe she will melt...?
  22. ...and you know we all now be subjected to Nigel giving some convoluted explanation in lieu of apology this week as he tries to justify his stupidity. Yes, Nigel, your opinion is nothing but ignorance and stupidity.
  23. DCC Fan....thank you for pointing that out. I knew it was Veronica in my head. I haven't idea why I typed Vivian's name...
  24. What an uncomfortable episode. Vivian irked me discussing her fan base. While I know this came from a place of not wanting to burn bridges as a DCC ambassador, many other vets also have fans. I don't want to dislike her...bc I was pulling for her last year....but I do get a sense that she believes her own hype I actually scoff laughed when Cournet left and Kelly intimated that her job was too stressful. She could have meant trying to do both, but that isn't how I took it after viewing it twice. I agree that the editing monkeys are flinging the poo here. You did not see Kelly and the vets in the same frame in the office so I call BS on some of their reactions. Case in point, it seemed like a weird response by Brit S to say, "understandable" to hearing. " I don't want to cut you". I also noticed on the second view that even though we did not hear her call Danielle's name, Danielle was the first reaction shot to hearing , "these are the girls I need to see in my office". I personally liked Ashley's suggestion to do articles to show that they are more than just objects. Some of the comments are lewd and cruel on Facebook...I actually felt bad when Brit S said they were not 2D and had feelings. Yes, they are in the public eye but they are not the ones selecting the photos to put on FB. The irony is that they are not allowed to personally expose themselves to the public. I guess this part hits home. As a teacher, I know how hurtful sites like Rate My Teachers can be....and how mortifying comments can be when read by friends and family. I cannot even begin to comprehend not only how these ladies must feel to read them themselves....but even more to know their loved ones see them too. ...and I do recognize my own hypocrisy by participating in this forum. The Hannah thing contines to confuse me. Why did Kelly not give her the same warning as Vivian? She did tell Vivian how much the Club values her ...and I know she has been singled out in the swinsuit calendar....but ITA that there was something off with Hannah. And I don't think it is that she is over DCC. Her shock seemed genuine. Vivian was singled out by kitty for blanking out but hannah was winded and technically off. Was that the reason? And is my memory wrong, or wasn't Hannah the rookie kelly remarked on by saying, "now that's a body" last year ? Hannah seemed aware of her weight...maybe she thought she would get a warning like the four did last year....? Like I said, just confusing. As for Meagan? My heart broke for her. Please forgive lack of capitals....I hate typing on my phone!
