I don't think the male judges are just random off-the-street people. Yes, the dentist IS random; however, if I'm not mistaken, the others include Jay (who works with the girls for fitness), the hair guy, the photographer, and I think someone connected to sports journalism...? These are people who do have experience with the team and the brand and, yes, they give a male's view to the process beyond the dance. I do think the random guest judges (aside from DJ Guthrie or even Melissa ) have been pointless (whoever that singer was).

Dancer.Lyfe - it should. It made sense here at the time it got started though, lol! It wasn't so much about Danielle but about how decisions are made and whether certain girls in TC this year are just there for MTT / CMT drama.

I find it so hard to tell how good these ladies are as dancers in this season's audition routine -- it seems choppy and awkward. I'm going to just have to wait for the season to begin (CAN'T WAIT!). The CMT marathon has been showing the trailer for the new season and I'm so happy the informed members of this forum have given us so much information that I can actually recognize a few of the ladies already from pix and comments here. I just wish the marathon showed us the original episodes -- not the altered-for-media-sale with the HORRIBLE music trax that they include (ugh). I'm know the conversation is quieting down, but I just want to weigh in once more on the Danielle audible (LOVE that someone use that term since it was the football jargon she needed to define in her interview): we only are privy to small sound bytes, not the entire discussion on the judges' evaluations. It is very possible that some may have been swayed in favor of Danielle after hearing of her injury and being told of the reception she received. She may have been #46 when they let in 45. I don't think if she was in the 30s that K&C would have been able to do what they did without backlash; she seemed to present well in her interview and had the confidence of some of the judges. I do think that the Cassie decision from the previous year had some measure of significance as it would have been very hypocritical to not do what they did the season before; however Cassie had 4 previous years under her belt to prove herself as a DCC (no matter how much people in here may hate her). In the case of Danielle, Kelly was very distressed at the table -- it was visible - and she didn't ignore the judges. It isn't as though a girl voted into training camp was dumped out because they gave Danielle the spot; Charlotte & Kelly, (and maybe Judy -- we don't know; there may have been a conversation on the way downstairs among the 3 of them discussing how unhappy they were with the decision) allowed an additional girl into camp and with that decision accepted the cost of another girl in TC (uniforms; another very big binder; etc). As for Judy's voice, I don't remember the name -- maybe Kendal? She was a pageant title holder...season 4 I think -- She was clearly liked by the judges (in first round only 1 no vote and it was clear who that was). She was pretty, a good enough dancer -- and I think she appealed to many of the men on the panel. I think Judy's concerns swayed them and she didn't get as many points as she would have if Judy was not respected and valued in her position. OK. I'm done ranting :-) Despite some of the heated discussions in the past few days, I still think this is the best forum I've encountered. And Kelly would be proud to see people getting so passionate about the girls (both pros and cons), the team, and the show. Does anyone know if post-field rehearsal was the usual slaughter?

...except those gambles become part of a squad that remains intact long after the cameras of CMT stop rolling and they must live with those decisions. Every season, kelly reminds viewers that she and Charlotte are responsible for the brand...but Judy is still an important part of that trio. In regards to Danielke, I don't remember Judy saying anything positive or negative about her. Obviously she knew about the injury. I think I just assumed that she was in agreement with that quick decision. Of course I do think some of the decisions are for some MTT drama, but perhaps not as many as other reality shows.

Judy in charge of the final cuts would be VERY interesting. On the flip side, Ashley Pro would not have even made it to training camp if Judy had the only say last year (and I really was pulling for that young lady!). She does stay very focused on the dance whereas Kelly has a broader view. But we would have been spared Morgan a whole lot earlier; Judy would have cut her very early.

Wasn't it Carissa in S-7 that didn't try out for SG because of financial issues at home? It didn't hurt her chances of making the squad as a rookie. Unless someone here has inside knowledge, I don't think SG auditions are required...it is considered an honor and is a heavier time commitment than the squad.

While I do think they can name a team 2 weeks into TC, I don't think the delay is all about the drama for the show. I think Kelly has shown enough genuine emotion about some of the late cuts ( Kalli F., Clarissa, Alexandra....and even Alex H in season 6) that there is a hope that with enough practice, they would get there. Without the time to see the girls' dedication, commitment, and passion through group leaders' comments, work ethic, and their appearance with the cameos, I think several of our favorites (like Mackenzie Lee or Ashley S-7) may have been lost early on. Then there are those like Morgan and Breelin that they just took a chance on but didn't bring back. On the flip side, Vivian would have probably made it on the squad if they didn't go on as long on S9.

They've waited until the moment OF the photo to announce the squad, so anything is possible.

I have no opinion about this girl and won't until I see her on the show to actually hear her and watch re dance, but IMHO I think there is a difference between personal racy photos and those that are done for a job. Does anyone know for certain that a girl who waitresses at Hooters could not ever be picked for DCC? I know Kelly said they wanted Danielle to stay away from that, but it is a corporation and a uniform, not porn. Karrissa, Ika, Carla, and Taylor (s6) had personal photos, most of which were of the girls partying. Carla's was just unfortunate since she didn't put them in Facebook but her dancing would have gotten her cut anyway. With the other 3 it seemed the issue was more about poor judgement and the fear of having the girl (and by extension the DCC brand) be viewed as partying. The costumes for this Trasssax or whatevertheheckitis are just that-- costumes. Costumes of questionable taste for sure. And as some of you have mentioned, the DCC swimsuits are more revealing. If she's made it this far, it has to be overlooked. She's being judged for her dancing, not her modeling. But they have to soften her. Her makeup and style make her look 10 years older.

Did they have the field rehearsal yet? That normally ends with at least 1 cut. Was season 7 the only season where that didn't happen?

yes...Alexandra was cut just before Chandler and Vivian. ...I think the rehearsal just before.

Chandler was cut very late (along with Vivian), close to the squad photo...is that who you mean in S9?

Wasn't Kaimie OTeeter (forgive my spelling please) cut at the end of a practice but before the girls were dismissed....I thought I remember the squad being announced the same night...?

I Wonder if Angela is a problem for show group because she is from out of the country . Is Jenelle on the team?

Kinzie & Jacie (along with Lacey, Erica, and Melissa) definitely have. I believe Kelsey and Jenna have too. I assume Holly. It's difficult to figure out because the last show group photo that is up on the website is old enough to have Brittany E and Cassie; the website has not been good with updating (or archiving) information.

No guest judges this year like DJ Guthrie....and I agree that any vets left behind would feel slighted.

Although Kinzie isn't featured that much on the show, based on the Halloween performance video, the stadium cameras like her (and Samantha - I will miss her). I'm so glad she made the banner with Jacie! The CMT teaser says, "tempers flare" -- I'm interested in seeing how that plays out (another "toxic" TCC or is it K, J, or Kitty?). With the show starting in less than a month (yay!), may I suggest a drinking game? (shots of lemonade are fine) - anytime Judy says, "That's a mess", Kelly says, "Dreams come true" (making or destroying), or either of them say, "clunky"?

I think something in Breelan reminded Melissa of herself as a TCC and that is why she gravitated to her. As for not working with Chandler, Chandler wasn't on the radar of problems until Kelly's friend Tina made a comment and then the field practice. Melissa was there more as a big sister mentor, not someone to help the girls with their dancing, IMHO. She wasn't there enough to affect any real changes beyond boosting their confidence so working with Breelin in her "oops" expressions, Chandker on a frozen face, Ashley Pro on her overwhelming anxiety and Caila on her confidence was about all she could do. She was not is a position to help, say Alexandra on her dance skills. I have wondered if she could have helped Ashley Paige if she were a TCC last season. She may have been able to coach her through the stiffness and the tough facade that Ashley showed.

Not an good picte...and while the article was interesting, I wonder if the organization will have a problem with the implication that the cheerleaders have it harder than the players. I actually agree with that sentiment...but the execs seem to get very ...sensitive about any perceived slight (e.g., melissa kellerman and the cute tweet)

Kelly's job is year round. This is a logical time to take a vacation. And I bet the girls are grateful for having the pressure lifted on cuts while she is gone. It probably means that they will be able to focus on learning and improving their P, P, P, and style without a looming cut ..but for filming fun, Kitty and Melissa can always visit the ranch and sit alongside Judy!

Is anyone else now seeing Kelly's twitter of the kickoine as a photo not a video?

I think that is Kinzie too -- her kicks are a little lower than normal (she is one of those who I think could kick her nose) and her jump is somewhat like Vivian did in front of DJ G last season (little jump and a slide into a half split) -- that HAS to be an injury. She is not someone with flexibility problems. Which one is Taylor? I can't pick her out.

I would love to be in Group 2. It may have been because of the nature of the choreography and needing more technical dancers but in the Halloween halftime number, Samantha, kinzie, and Melissa were high up in the triangle. I think kinzie was with Samantha just behind Jayce who was point.... Jennifer k was up there too. I know she is a great dancer and we only hear sound bytes rather than getting to know anyone who didn't struggle in TC but I always felt she bordered a little on arrogant instead of just confident.

Really REALKY stupid question, but are financial considerations also part of group leaders? I thought that leaders get gifts for their teams on home game days....or am I misunderstanding how that works. So glad Jacie and Kinzie are paired up together- it seems they had been a strong friend pair since rookie year
