  1. I enjoyed Paging Mr Darcy - Will Kemp makes everything better i tolerated the Alisom Sweeney movie. I didn’t like her character, the aforementioned footwear choices, her costuming, Ben Ayers’s hair styling, and lack of chemistry. The only memorable part for me was the brief recreation of the Colin Firth emerging from the pond in the wet white shirt. Disappointed for Alison and I generally find her delightful. American in Austen looks like it might be fun. Sense & Sensibilty looks stupid.
  2. I’m also wondering about that family tree who was Susannah to Elliot? If they married who were their children? I love this show, I’m intrigued and pulled in by it. Every episode is like peeling back an onion, I think about it a lot, I just don’t post because I don’t have much superficial to say. There is no snark. in some ways it reminds me of the early days of Lost. I hope this ages better.
  3. I love this one. Their chemistry is wonderful. My favorite line is when she insults him by telling him he’s “not crafty” (as in arts & crafts not as in deceptive). Her delivery is fantastic. And him defending himself about how she thinks he had it so easy when he sets her straight on how he grew up poor and how hard he had to work to make a Successful career out of an ort of natural talent.
  4. Ball Hammocks. just leaving that there, do with it what you will
  5. Favorite Lassie quotes: by Josh Malina in the werewolf episode, describing Lass: "Robert Goulet dressed like Mr. Bean playing the scarecrow in a summerstock production of the Wizard of Oz dedicated to Tony Randall." Bwah! And I'm plenty old enough to remeber both Goulet and Randall. Such a spot on description. Lassie: All romance ends in despair, or death, but mostly despair. Gut wrenching despair. All people are essentially just out to destroy any chance of happiness you ever had. Lassie: People have sex and they kill each other. That's reality. Any of his "I'd rather" retorts to certain events - I'd rather learn to play the harp - I'd rather go to the mall with McNabb - I'd rather spend the rest of my life at the Lilith Fair - I'd rather fall in love with a Vegan. It's all in the delivery of course. And after Marlowe, oh the way he glowed! And how funny the first time she comes to his place for dinner, when everybody comes to the door to warn him and he answers the door wearing garters. But before that, lighting the hand grenade candle. And the guns all over the house, and of course the uzi painting with flowers coming out of the barrel. Their wedding episode hilarious - half the guests wearing ankle monitors or handcuffs, the orchestra all packing heat. When the nob comes in, the shot of McNabb/Morningwood tripping up the stairs ripping his tear away pants off. That's comedy gold.
  6. New Psych fan here with lots of thoughts, but I'll keep it short. Sort of. I happened to be watching a Hallmark movie that ended and din't change the channel and the next thing I know there is Carey Elwes on my screen!!! So I kept watching and thought the show was hysterical. I don't know why I didn't tune in when it first came out, I was familiar with Dule and Corbin and a little with Maggie. I'm glad that was my first episode though, because if I'd watched the first one as my introduction I probably wouldn't have continued. So I checked to see when the series would be starting over again, and when it did, started recording every episode. Problem is, I have limited DVR space, so I had to binge watch every single day to clear room for the next day. So unlike a lot of your who watched as the series unfolded, for me, it was a lot of Psych all at once and my perspective is probably different. After the first round of bing watch, I recorded it all again from the beginning for a 2nd opportunity. As much as I enjoy to bro-ness between Shawn and Gus, the early seasons, I quickly tired of Shawn. I'm generally not a fan of physical comedy (ala Jerry Lewis), so the s****** movements and over-the-top gestures were a bit much. I like that it toned down in later seasons. I didn't like any of the "scary" episodes, but I did think Ally Sheedy was brilliant. The concept started to wear a little thin, but then was rescued my Marlowe and Woody. Both of those characters added a lot. I thought McNabb was underused a bit, and just a wee bit more Officer Morningwood would have been welcome. I also struggled with the incessant pop culture references. Maybe because so many of them went over my head, but also, it just got tiresome. I will continue to use the word brilliant, and Shawn best performance was in the one where Gus's college buddies come together for a funeral. Watch JAmes' face while he listens to Gus sing for (purportedly) the first time. The raw mix of joy and wonder and respect and awe and pride, it just all comes together. By far my favorite character turned out to be Lassiter - Timothy plays him brilliantly. Next post I will share my favorite quotes. My favorite episodes included of course American Duos and Black and Tan. But Shawn and the Real Girl is one of my favorites. It skewers Bachelorette et al perfectly. And I loved it when the SAndra Panitch re-do actress says that at first she thought Gus and Shawn were an item because they were so into eachother. More thoughts will undoubtedly sprout up after I post this. edited to add: how did I forget to mention Lights, Camera, Homicidio as another favorite episode
  7. How about the moron in the Fresh Pet commercial who says something to the affect that while he’d heard of dog food, he’d never thought about the fact that dogs eat food, WTF? You’re too stupid to have a pet. Start with a goldfish and go from there,
  8. Cindy Busby is on my no list, and it’s a short list. I was home sick a day earlier this week and thought I could binge watch Hallmark for the day. Tuned in and there were back to back CB episodes. Tuned in during lunch the next day and oh look it was her again, and yep, same thing the next day. I ended up watching the movies and mysteries channel instead, which leads to this.... For those who have enjoyed the chemistry of Lacey and Will Kemp, they have a new dancing movie coming out in a couple of weeks. Not for discussion in this thread, but I haven’t seen promos on this channel only on the M&M channel. while so many of the stable of actors are getting on in years and they need new blood, I am seeing some pleasant male leads. But so far not liking any of the new women, especially Fish who previously did the whale movie.
  9. I looked tonight at tomorrow’s schedule. Sure enough, there’s a movie with Alexa PenaVega and Luke McFarlane. Description: Sparks fly between a ballet instructor and a hockey player.... edited to add: this is funny, when I got home from work I turned on Hallmark to see Lacey in a movie with Carlo Marks, followed by.........wait for it....drum roll please.....another Lacey Chabert movie, this time with Will Kemp. i like both the of the movies but this exactly what I was talking about. With their vast vault they could have shown something with different leads.
  10. My issue with the construction wasn’t that it was only 8 months later, it was that up to that point no discussion about starting a charitable foundation, any fundraising, etc. but magically they can all of a sudden build a $10m giant building.
  11. Kris Polaha hair is a big ass NO. And he’s too old for that woman they’ve paired him with. i watched Game of Love. It was ok, made so mostly because of Brooks being so beautiful to look at. I wonder how he would pair with the luminous Heather Hemmins? I have two asks of Hallmark. First, stop programming movies with the same lead back to back. If I just watched a movie with Lacey and Brendan, the next movie should not have either of them in it. No matter how much I like an particular actor, I don’t want to see them with one romantic lead then an hour later a different one. Space it out. second, whomever writes the blurbs for the TV synopsis needs to stop writing “Sparks fly.....”. I’ve seen this in a ridiculous number of them. As in Sparks fly when a big city developer tries to steal the small town girl’s farm, who just happens to be his high school sweetheart. Not only is it over use, it’s rarely true. There are some pairings that have great chemistry but not enough to warrant to use. And never if the movie stars Luke McFarlane or Erin Cahill.
  12. I saw a new movie tonight, Unexpected Grace. Michael Rady is aging nicely and he always gives a nuanced emotional performance. I sobbed so many times through the movie, it was very heartfelt. But in the last 10 minutes, it kind of fizzled to a neatly tied up but improbable ending. It just came out of nowhere and there was no foundation for it. Fairy dust just magically made it appear I guess.
  13. I don’t think Colton was cheating. I'm thinking Money was spent on psychics, PI’s or maybe a ransom for info, none of which led anywhere. if Colton died 3 months after Jacob that would be end of January and this episode was New Years. So there’s a month of build up to that event over the next few episodes,I think they advertised 4 remaining.
  14. It has Brooks Darnell. The man is smokin’ hot. There are maybe 3 people in the universe who don’t look stupid wearing their hair like he is in the previews. He is one.
  15. I I have a complaint since there was so much discussion here about fashion. When they went to his parent’s house, she was wearing a sleeveless dress where the bodice was all white but then just above the waist there were some flowers that presumably went down to the hem. I really wanted to see the flowers but I don’t think we ever got a look at the dress in a full length shot.
  16. There is something about him that I find weirdly attractive. i worn buy his insurance but I’d love to uhm dance with him or whatever
  17. I don’t care for Cory Sevier, neither looks or personality. For me he’s quickly becoming the male version of Cindy Busby and Jessica Lowndes. But as you say Hallmark likes him for some reason.
  18. I’ve assumed that it is recent, that whatever prompted her to declare him dead is what also motivated her to have a memorial service. I wonder if we will see Nick(?), Alice’s beach boyfriend, in the present time. Curious how he turned out.
  19. Doesn’t sound black to me, assuming we’re talking about it saying “I smell like poop and flowers”
  20. Cottonelle, with their continuing “down there care” says we’re supposed to wipe our ass if we had a date that’s going to result in a sexual encounter. I always take a shower for a date. If I’ve pooped earlier in the day and don’t feel I’ve wiped sufficiently i’ll re-wipe, date or not. but for a date, it’s a shower. And to imply that unless you have a date there’s no point in cleaning up, well ewww. Just ewww.
  21. My re-watch picked up on a couple of things I missed first time around. Maybe others noticed but I was only casually watching at the time. when Kat and Alice show up at the farm in present day, and Elliot sees Alice for the first time, he’s startled and to me clearly recognizes her as the girl that showed up in 1999. And in 1999 when Alice is in the kitchen with the family and saying goodbye to Jacob he tells her to be careful so the white ghost witch who steals children doesn’t get her. I’m assuming this woman is the one from 1814. I’ve speculated that Jacob went in the pond and dad died trying to save him. Or that Jacob went in to the pond and time travelled and never came back. Perhaps he was foreshadowing and got abducted by the ghost woman. We know from the teasers that Elliot knows about the time travel, but I don’t know if Kat and Del do.
  22. I meant they would repeat the teaser repeatedly which they did. i was able to record the repeat of the episode on Saturday night. My DVR is full so I don’t record until I know there’s something worth giving up my older stuff for
  23. Episode was better than the previews. I’m in. i just saw a teaser for next week, but I’m already on “tape delay” so I can’t rewind and listen. I’ll try again, Hallmark will repeat it a gazillion times.
  24. I think goatee man is Christopher Russell. He has a square jaw and is a tall hunk. Could be Sam Page he sometimes sports a chin stubble. did you know there is a word for made-up European kingdoms? At least according to Wikipedia. It’s Ruritania and it’s an interesting read regarding its use in legal proceedings. It’s been around for over a century. As for the veil movies I found Lacey’s to be meh but Autumn’s was better because I thought the new couple had chemistry and the ‘girl’ was a bit quirky. Plus, Paolo.
