  1. O.M.G.!! I'm glad it's not just me. I swear, with Voight doing the bobblehead thing and the shaky-cam ( I hadn't noticed the shaky-cam before), I started to get dizzy. Ugh! And, it begins to take away from the scene when he starts doing that. I love the show...I like Voight...but for the life of me, I don't know why or how the director allows him to do this ALL of the time! I mean, if WE (the viewers) notice, they MUST notice when they are watching him or when reviewing tapes of scenes. Goodness...
  2. LOL! True that. :-) I think that it's just so easy to get wrapped up in the characters and the stories (they feel so real!), and then some completely forget that ALL of the characters, stories, dialogues, etc come from one man's head....Julian Fellowes (with the help of a couple of playwrights). Bravo to them all! My favorite is when someone asks "why doesn't (fill in name) do such-and-such?" Um, because Julian didn't write it like that. :-D :-D It's all good, though. And amusing. Truth be told, I even have to catch myself sometimes.
  3. Attention everyone! :-) I just want to mention that it's Carson's and Mrs. Hughes' *RECEPTION* location that's being thrown about....not the location of the wedding. That is all. :-D
  4. They are also going to have a Masterchef celebrity special. Check out the last paragraph of this article. Note that Addison will be on this show. http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/graham-elliot-masterchef-leaving-fox-1201665505/
  5. I really don't think that's the case. I think that once all of the smoke cleared, Boden was exonerated, Patterson put in for his transfer and Riddle was moved to airport duty, TPTB allowed Boden to offer Severide his spot back. He had also done what was asked of him with regard to taking the management class. So, I'm looking at it as not every background detail can be included in an episode or story arc...we have to trust that the necessary background stuff happened. Remember...Riddle was pulling a lot of crap, and using Patterson as a puppet. Patterson prevented Severide from getting his post back and that was orchestrated by Riddle. With Riddle and Patterson gone, everything can go back to normal at 51. Yay! :-)
  6. Yep. I just finished re-watching the epi and Patterson did say that Freddie showed up during First Watch. Also, the Chicago PD detectives are actually in the Intelligence Unit, which is also what Gabby said when talking to Boden at his home. She mentioned that per Antonio, Intelligence agreed to search for Serena on their own time. I think that's reasonable. I suspect that anyone in trouble who had friends in law enforcement would reach out to them for help. Regarding Serena's request for an attorney...it didn't show that she was refused an attorney. Antonio said he would make sure that happened, but he just kept talking to her...he was not interrogating her. She didn't say anything, which was her right. However, she realized she was 'had'...especially once she had to look Boden in the eyes when he came into the room. But, you know....it's television. Everything has to be a bit more dramatic. :-D
  7. Yeah, unless that kiss is gonna help soften up that fool and bring him down off his high horse, I'm not a fan of the kiss either. I really, really hope the writers grow that relationship very, very slowly...and then detour it. With that said, I hope that Leanne and his dad can reach him in some way....to soften his demeanor and make him more empathetic. That's the only benefit that I can see with pairing Leanne with Cole.
  8. Does anyone remember who said this? I'll give you one guess. "GET MY NAME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH!"
  9. Chain of command, perhaps? I didn't think it was odd. It's possible that she is the first point of contact when something like this happens to someone on her team or related to her team.
  10. O-M-G! Ditto! I love Joe Morton, but I have had enough of him and B613 to last me three lifetimes. Personally, I prefer NOT to see Daddy Pope, Mama Pope OR Jake. But since Jake is being conjured up by Huck so who knows what's gonna happen next week. And of all of the 'gladiators' that we started with, Olivia is down to only one...the one that I don't like. She really needs to work on staffing up. :-D IMO, Quinn never really 'fit'...at least not for me. I'd almost...ALMOST...rather have Abby back in the fold as it almost feels as if they are trying to MAKE her fit into the Press Secretary character. Of course, I know it's wrong of me to compare her with The West Wing's C.J. Cregg but that character spoiled me completely. :-) Lastly, I hope they continue with the case-of-the-week format, Olivia and Fitz relationship issues, and a sprinkling of storylines for the other cast members. I think the show works much better that way, but that may take a while since Olivia's office has gone from a team of 6 to only 2. Ugh! And, as mentioned, there has been WAY too much of the B613 crapola for the past few seasons. Enough already.
  11. I've been binge-watching Mr. Selfridge for a couple of weeks and am THOROUGHLY enjoying it. I'm just a few epis away from the end of season 3, but can't wait until season 4 begins. :-) While I was Googling around for more info on the Selfridge family, I stumbled upon this one. (see link) It's a great interview with Harry Selfridge's great granddaughter. She sheds a ton of light on the true Selfridge story…starting with Harry's beard. Yep, his beard. But I won't spoil the rest for you. Check the story out in the Daily Mail. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2944115/Great-granddaughter-tycoon-Mr-Selfridge-says-wasn-t-womaniser.html
  12. Out of curiosity, I checked on the process that you site here and it appears that this procedure is only partially correct. Also, as stated above, the emergency brake *can* be used but that is not the full answer either, and you have to use it cautiously. I recommend that readers either Google the procedure, read their car manual (what to do may be mentioned) or maybe, ask a mechanic. (FYI: It MUST be mentioned that the power steering could fail or steering can lock if you turn off the engine…that's bad news, too, if you are moving fast…no control.) Lastly, it would't bother me a bit if the mods decide to remove my post and the above related posts since posting the correct and complete procedure is not pertinent to the topic.
  13. How about Marie (with the red/pink streak in her hair) of Tim & Marie? She was awfully, awfully mean and annoying…almost unbearably so.
  14. In other news…... I was reading another message board and these were posted of Jeff and Hayley. Jeff and HAYLEY, you say? Yep…. https://instagram.com/p/0jHjNcTd4X/?taken-by=jdweldon https://instagram.com/p/0g8d_aRlFj/ https://instagram.com/p/0g7nSPRlDz/ https://instagram.com/p/1CSYobzd4E/ https://instagram.com/p/z0ymqeTd5D/ https://instagram.com/p/0gp4R4RlCd/ Who knows whether they are dating or not (apparently, they both live in the Tampa/St. Pete area) but I hope he's prepared for something like this one day… Boy, oh, boy. :-( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qn__Eo4h58
  15. LOL! Yeah, it was a flash but I caught that, too. Hmmm….perhaps she's going on and on a wee bit *too* much? Note to Jackie: Jackie, dear, just let it happen, if it's gonna happen. Something like, "He's really a great guy, and I'm hoping that we can stay in touch after the show," would have been PLENTY. But, don't push it. Or, you could push HIM away. <sealed, stamped, and sent off to Jackie> :-D
  16. Some good, original ideas. :-) I'm thinking that they (TPTB) will probably keep the Save, but tweak the rules for using it. I would propose that instead of having the receiving team hang onto it for so long, they change the rule to have it expire after the 4th or 5th leg. That's plenty long enough for a team to have such 'insurance'. [This change would be similar to having Fast Forwards on every leg (many seasons ago) to 2 (or so) FF in a season.] And the other teams won't have to suck up to the team with the Save….plus, it levels the playing field once again. Having it through 8 or 9 legs (?) was unnecessarily long.
  17. Truth be told, I liked the bikers, too…and a lot more than I liked the scientists at that point in the race. However, in this instance, Brooke was the instigator and the rest of the teams went along with HER plot.
  18. As mentioned by others, Brooke and Robbie were definitely the ones who began the plot to u-turn the bikers when they were all on the ferry, and the others chimed in. Below is a link from CBS's recap. Read the paragraph under "PLOTTING". http://www.cbs.com/shows/amazing_race/episodes/213698/ I think this should resolve the confusion.
  19. This was a continuation leg (aka, double-length or to be continued) which means that the pit stop is only to pick up the next clue and any other instructions. The first to arrive do not win a prize and the last to arrive do not have to complete a speed bump. So, there was really nothing that happened that was 'unfair' to the other teams. There is more information in this link in the section on Double-Length Legs. (I hope the link works) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Amazing_Race#Double-length_legs
  20. I have no idea why they edit the way that they do. My point was that they can't put everything in so some things get left on the cutting room floor. That is all. "Why assume they are editing anything out?" I thought you already agreed that they edit for everyone?
  21. Regarding taking the SAVE home as a souvenir: He may not have necessarily meant to do that all along. I understood it to mean that "since we haven't had to use it and have to turn it in, I get to take it home with me, right Phil?". Regarding Jim's calm demeanor: That may have been the case but, remember... the show is heavily edited. They show us what they want to show us, and leave out what they want to, as well. How do we know that he didn't say to Misti, "Honey, you didn't notice that either?"
  22. This has been brought up a lot on the forum, and has been compared to using it as Survivor's immunity idol is used. My feeling is that as weird as it may have appeared (and especially since Jim and Misti were not that well-liked when they came in last that time), I hope that TPTB do NOT change it to become similar in use as the immunity idol. This is not Survivor. They've done quite well over 25 seasons without mimicking Survivor. But I do think they should take another look at the Save as they've done for other aspects of the race. I'd be surprised if the creators/producers have not already had a pow-wow about the pros and cons of this new addition, and if it worked as they originally intended. "Will the team coming in second to last get the boot over the save using team ?" No. After the Save has been handed over on a legit elimination leg, it then turns into a NEL for the next to last team. They will NOT get the boot.
  23. I don't watch TAR Asia, but there was definitely a high rope walk between twin skyscrapers on TAR US, Season 19 in Panama. That happened during the episode where their previous location was in Belgium and they had to dress up as detectives from a cartoon and look for TinTin for their next clue (which sent them to Panama).
  24. Thank you for mentioning this. My sentiments exactly. I'm of the belief (while watching TV) that you just can't take anything literally. Almost everything is done for the sake of drama, comedic effect, etc. To expect tight, literal meaning will only garner disappointment and a feeling of 'sloppy' or 'lazy' writing (as I've seen some call it on other message boards). My opinion is that unless it is a biography, autobiography or documentary, suspension of belief (and not taking everything) is required. I'm just watching it for entertainment anyway. To respond to queries from previous posts: I don't think it's all that odd that certain characters haven't been seen in a while. They are just not a part of the story arc at the moment. It's obviously Cary's time right now. All characters can't and shouldn't be in every arc or it may appear too busy. The former Lockhart-Gardner has to have a new name when it comes back, right? Perhaps the Kings are working on that and new related stories. Anyway, however unrealistic some parts of the current story arcs seem to be, it's quite entertaining….including bad guy, Lemond Bishop.
  25. True. Thanks, Lingo. I should have elaborated.
