Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp
Temperance replied to frenchtoast's topic in Counting On
They still bought the house from her parents. It's probable that they got a good deal on the house, because the sellers are her parents. Or the house is a bribe to keep quiet. Compensation to keep doing the show. Compensation for doing the show already. Compensation for the fact Joy has been on the show since she was 11. As for paying more than is listed on the deed, no paying with your souls wouldn't be listed. -

I got the sense they genuinely loved the trailer and were happy enough there. I didn't get the sense they really needed to leave and they had the houses he was flipping to live in part of the time. Some people are really into living in small spaces. That would explain the tiny house movement. -
Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
Temperance replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
There are a lot of assumptions being made here. 1. There is no evidence (concrete) of any wrongdoing. There is a vague accusation that something has gone wrong, but we have no concrete proof something has happened. 2. If wrong-doing occurred, we have no way of knowing what kind of wrong-doing occurred. 3. We have no proof that anyone has been living with Josh and Anna other than their own children. I got the sense that some relatives visit both Josh and JB and Michelle. They may be staying at TTH. 4. We have no reasons to assume that any particular person is a victim in this case. (We know a lot about his earlier crimes, but not what's going on.) I have no particular sympathy for Josh, but I do have (a lot) sympathy for the possible victim who may not be a victim at all. They deserve to not have blind speculation drawn to them. -
I don't think Kanye listens to anyone, especially not his wife.

I was just coming to post about the revelation they bought the house from JB and Michelle. Austin is the only in-law or child who has also hinted that Derick might be telling the truth about the payment structure. Guess JB and Michelle needed to give Austin something to quiet him down. -

No, Will is Michelle's nephew. I've posted this before. Will (Emily's father) is the son of Michelle's sister Pamela. -

Who is Crystal Ball Katie? I'm surprised Derick didn't say anything. There's a rumor someone asked cousin Amy about it (on the internet), but I don't know anything official about that. -

I agree I don't want Josh to have hurt anybody particularly minors/innocents/unwilling partners. Hiring a lady of the night would be a different story. I also would be good with tax fraud. I'm beginning to think it's not true. -

I wonder if ALERT is why the boys look older than they are. I also didn't remember Justin is a blonde.

MacArthur had already said some nasty things about Beth Moore and women in ministry. Now he's making comments about the evils of any women in charge of any thing. "If women are in charge, we're in trouble. When women take over a culture, men become weak; when men become weak, they canbe conquered. [W]hen all the men have been slaughtered, you [women] can sit there with all your jewelry and junk. You’ve been conquered, because you overpowered your protectors. Don’t misunderstand this: This is what we are living in today. Empowering women makes weak men. Weak men make everybody vulnerable to danger." “If you look carefully at our nation, you would have to agree that it’s childish, young, inexperienced, ignorant women who are ascending into power. When you overthrow the divine order, the results are always disastrous. And again, it’s not anti-women any more than it’s anti-children. But it’s a divine judgment on a nation that its young and its women are in power.” This guy is the head of Jeremy's seminary and a mentor figure for Jeremy. MacArthur is also older than I thought since he's 80 years old. As for what he's said, we've had plenty of trouble with the men in charge. Either gender can be a good or bad leader.

Leavensworth Kansas had it's annual Veterans' Day parade. The parade is a tradition going back 100 years. A lot of people marched in it. Supposedly hundreds came out to watch the parade despite bad weather (snow + freezing temptures). The only people photographed watching the parade were Steve Maxwell's youngest daughters Anna and Mary. They were featured in the Ft. Leaveworth Lamp online.

If Jeremy negotiated for it, it's possible TLC is paying him and Jinger separately. I think for the most part Derick is telling the truth and good for him. Yes he was an adult, and he should have known better, but he clearly seemed infatuated with the Duggars when he met them. I also think that perhaps he thought they were getting money in a more structured ways. Who knows how JB structured payments? Maybe they did get money independent from TLC and didn't have enough to over unexpected medicals bills? Derick turned to TLC and JB to help and they didn't. If Derick asked JB to cover some medical expenses and he didn't, that doesn't sound very Christian to me. But maybe Derick didn't want to beholden to JB? I remember for JB and Michelle paying for some dental work for then married son Josh. Derick is not the most sympathetic guy. But if he's telling the truth, there are serious implications for the Duggar kids including the ones who are still minors. Derick may chosen as an adult to marry Jill and be filmed, but the Duggars were mostly minors. They were all minors when the first specials were filmed. The Duggars lifestyle deliberately isolates their children from anyone who would help them question their parents' authority. They've been raised their whole lives to blindly follow their parents, which may keep a lot of them from speaking out. It would be easy for JB and Michelle to take the same teachings that keep them fundie (for the most part) and use that to get control of the money, even the adult kids.

Those bangs look like bangs Michelle had. -
They haven't made any official announcements, but I've been thinking the same thing for at least a month now.

It would be about 4 months from October to February... February is about 9 months ahead of November. 4-5 months is considered a perfectly reasonable amount of time to be trying for a baby. If the couple/woman is under 35, it's a full year before any kind of infertility is diagnosed. Even for women over 35, it's 6 months before any kind of infertility is diagnosed. (In both cases, exceptions might be made for women with known complications like PCOS.) Most doctors and medical professionals recommend waiting 6 weeks-3months to start trying again after a miscarriage. It gives the body time to heal. So Lauren is indeed being melodramatic with the "it took us months".

I predict she will give birth 11/8/19.

Josiah and Lauren: He Has To Marry Somebody
Temperance replied to frenchtoast's topic in Counting On
Bella is actually an international name and not just a Spanish/Italian name. Someone who claimed to be Russian said that it's actually fairly common/normal in Russia (not sure if it's true). I can say that I do like the simplicity of the name. It's an easy name to pronounce/spell. Bella is usually a nickname, most commonly for Isabella. In the Twilight series, the main character is Isabella "Bella" Marie Swan. Bella on it's own however is quite a popular name. Just Bella peaked in 2010 and 2018 at #48 of the top 1000 names for girls in the US. All of the Duggar girls born this year have popular names Ivy (#86), Bella (#48), and Addison (#35). -
The Lonely Js Club: James, Jackson & Johannah

No Michelle had two sets of fraternal twins-- something she was proud of. Since her main identity is her ability to procreate and her fertility, I guess she thought it made her extra-fertile. Jana and JD are obviously fraternal and the -iah twins look disimilar enough it's clear they're fraternal twins. Jason (the next brother) looks exactly like Jedidiah. Jed and Jason look like twins. -

I'm glad Jeremiah is around. I've been worried they sent that young man to live at ALERT. -
The person tagged in this post in a professional photographer. He doesn't seem to be a close friend so probably he was tagged for the picture.

The waiting to announce is a Duggar family thing. Kendra's daughter Addison was born Saturday Nov. 2 and they announced Monday when US Weekly was ready. Lauren had her baby Friday and announced today. If M6 is born this week, she'll be announced next Monday. -
I've from the North and I agree. I was just asking what bad weather meant, because I'm way north of them and we haven't had any weather like that yet. (Knock on wood) Also these people are too boring for a hot thread.
