He'd approve even less of 50 Shades of Kale. (Also a real cookbook).

Chelsy Bontrager Maxwell has a new blog post up on her blog and she implies that she was at John and Abbie's wedding.

Josie's dress looks so dated to me. Diana Ross had that dress in 80s/70s. It's way too big. But Josie looks good. Her face looks more mature. The other girls' clothes at least look in step with the times. Jennifer is still in that bridesmaid dress from Kendra's? wedding. Hannie looks a lot like Jana. I don't think their eyebrows needed as much trimming as most of them seem to have had. Our society is obsessed with eyebrows, but I think most people's eyebrows look fine the way they are. It's clear their manager or whoever decided they needed mostly invisible brows. Hopefully it's just make-up.

Well, that explains Jill's cooking. She's was raised with certain tastes and seasonings and now she's used to them.

Jeremy gets a few points from me for calling his mother, his role model. I feel like most fundies would be so locked into gender roles that a son would only consider his father a role model.

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
Temperance replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
That footage is a decade old from the old 19 K & C. -
@Christina87 I'm in a similar place in life and I'm trying to stay off social media more so it doesn't get to me that other people are "doing better" or "hitting life milestones" when I'm not. I know a lot of people who had success meeting in on-line dating groups and meeting people is tough. The advice I get from other people is keep doing activities or joining groups where you're likely to meet people. Sometimes I'm more depressed about the way things are going for me personally and sometimes I'm worried about the world in general. Anyway stay strong everyone. I'm also sending Good Vibes and going with The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow from Annie.

Josiah and Lauren: He Has To Marry Somebody
Temperance replied to frenchtoast's topic in Counting On
Lauren didn't say anything. This article is crap. Of course she's IBLP and married to a Duggar, and the stupid people who run this website want to make it news these people don't believe in birth control. Notice it's not Lauren who's talking, but a "production source" exclusive. This source is so close to the couple, they don't know if she's pregnant or not. Also anybody who is having sex with the intent of procreating is "trying for a baby". The phrase "trying for a baby" is not limited to infertile couples. It's often used by people who've been together awhile and having been trying not to get pregnant, who decide they're ready for kids.- 6.4k replies

I think their hair looks fine. Michael Bates is wearing her hair just like Jessa's and Annas. They obviously like their hair down.

Steve Maxwell has offered his readers a challenge. In his Seriously, Steve? column he offers this riddle: Young adults are lost without it. Adults may have it, but often it is misguided. It seems rare to find the elderly with it. Having it gives hope. Money often gives it. Sports often give it. Marriage proposes it. Death kills it. Jesus Christ embodies it. What is it? Steve's answer next week. Any predictions on the answer?

Joy and Austin: This One Time At Family Camp
Temperance replied to frenchtoast's topic in Counting On
It would make sense for Jill given that she's had difficult labors/c-sections. I can't tell if joy has a nose piercing, but it would make sense as she also had difficult first time labor. -
Yeah pressure as in my headship said we're naming him Robert the IV. I think I'd rather have a nickname that people won't mix up with other people. For example, I'm glad they're not calling him Bob as his father goes by Bobby. In my family, it's tradition to pass the names down, but it gets confusing. I know several guys who are the third and go by Trip/p. Tripp as a nickname for the third is very normal to me and so I can't side eye Kade that much. People are never sure what to do with fourth. On Archer, a character who was the fourth went by IV (ivy). On the subject of unique names, fewer and fewer people are using the most popular names and names are getting more distinctive, diverse and interesting. I think Kade is a fine nickname that wouldn't get much flack, but then I know a few Caden/Kadens. In the south, going by a nickname is more traditional and several of the Bates family members go by their middle names.

In the Fanta soda picture, Jill looks a lot like her older sister Jana. Maybe it's just the expression.

I think Jill looks great! And I'm impressed by those tall shoes!

Forgiveness for me is different from acceptance. What you're describing sounds like acceptance, not forgiveness.

Jessa said that after visiting Jinger when Felicity was born. Ben said that they might have "three in four years of marriage" (didn't happen) and seemed excited about the idea. Ben said that when TLC aired an episode aobut last year's anniversary (2017) and now they've been married four years (in 2018) and still two kids. It's hard to tell, but Ben seems like he might have baby fever too.

I think it's more just Jill appreciates that look from when she was young. As the old song said "But she's still preoccupied/ with 19, 19, 1985."

What does this refer to?

I doubt the entire 3rd generation of either family will end up fundie or not. If Jim Bob and Michelle and Kelly and Gil Bates are 1st generation, then the second generation is 38 people plus spouses and the 3rd generation will be 200/400 people*. The point is it's hard to control that many people and I have some hope that people from both families escape fundamentalism and end up doing what they want. *(Jim Bob and Michelle think they'll have at least 200 grandchildren and they may not have that many or they may have more. Kelly and Gil will probably have a large number of grandkids too. Currently the Duggars have 12 grandchildren and the Bates 8? soon-to-be-9?so about 21 in the 3rd generation already with probably many more to come.)

I like Johannah's hair. The curls look better than a lot of the old Duggar curls. I also thought she might be a Bates girl for a minute, since she looks those sisters.
