But I'm pretty certain that you'd all be Leviathan chow if Dean didn't ultimately team up again with Sam and do his world-saving thing. And Jess, thanks for letting Sam go with Dean so they could both start but then stop the Apocalypse. I know this is still a difficult time. You think you're ready, and then it still a little surreal. Plus a flurry of activity and then nothing to do and then another flurry, rinse/repeat. Can get kinda head-spinning. We're around if you need us. Keeping you in my thoughts.

I think #1 on Rowena's hit list is Dean. The only way IMO she would help Sam remove the curse is so that Dean can be killed. And at this point, she's probably fantasizing 1001 way to torture Dean before death. She said "Winchesters" but it was Dean who turn Crowley around on her. In her book, he SO needs to die. Even more than Crowley. Because killing Dean would hurt Crowley. More importantly, because of Dean, she lost her ludicrous gold tea set, being called Queen Mother, and access to Crowley's wealth for those gorgeous frocks. This shit matters to Rowena. I've never seen a character embody "wanna-be Royal" as much as she has. And of course Crowley has some of that in him. The little up-pinky with tea came from Rowena. Calling himself "King" of Hell. He could have gone with High Overlord of Evil ...but he went with King. Because that is the value system he and Rowena grew up in. Anyway, if Rowena is helping Sam, it's tied to killing Dean and getting MoL secrets. And I don't think killing Dean is at least an equal goal. I keep thinking Purgatory was unplanned. Because if Dean was intentionally going to Purgatory, he wouldn't have shown up empty handed. He looks like he just popped in there and Benny hands him a blade. I'm really curious about the blonde girl. Who is she and how does her story fit?

Personally I think Purgatory is a reasonable solution for him. He'd be a BadAss killer, running around hunting Leviathan and Monsters with reckless abandon.

I'm thinking Sam fiddling with that box did something. Which, Magnus being able to screw around with a portal to monsterland doesn't completely shock me. He was really powerful**. BTW, Dean's NOT wearing the leather jacket from Purgatory, so they didn't do a Quantum Leap thing. ** Hey! It's potentially a literal use of the phrase "a wizard did it"! ETA: Boogertron in the house for "The Prisoner" (10.22 I think) it was NOT for Supernatural, it was a throw-back-thursday for the TV show. (update 9pmish Eastern) ETA#2: Apparently Julian Richings (Death) was in Vancouver this week (tumblr tip, trouble finding original source, confirmed via Julian's twitter). No guarantee he's on set but that would so ROCK. Yes, I would want him to tell off Dean. IDEC. I think Death likes Dean and would do so only if it he felt Dean was worth it.

But then look at the front of the box...it's got "gears" behind the MOL symbol. It sure feels like a clock. Hanging my buttcheeks way out...time-travel? Three years in the past? But that would leave Sam with the dog and the vet. And who is the young girl (quick! someone write a crack-fic about Sam turning into a blonde teenage girl...PLEASE). Also of note, this does not seem to be IN the MOL bunker, what with all the spider-webs old house feel. I must admit, I'm pretty excited about upcoming episodes. The Angel Heart setup seems boring but I'm going to bet we get a good epsiode. And where the hell is Metatron?

Listening to the WoL Podcast, they brought out an interesting point regarding this episode. They think Dean KNOWS he's going to turn demon so the whole death analogy is the "death of Dean's personality". Consistent with Jensen comment that just because his vessel might live, "Dean" may not. That is, however, inconsistent with the first time he was a demon because he seemed at least Dean-adjacent to me. Maybe he's thinking if Dean goes full-on Demon, like Cain-class Demon with the super skillz set.

I can't believe I missed it the first go-round, but rewatching tonight, I heard the Dean Family theme at the end when Sam said "Dean's in trouble." That song always activates my FEELS. And yes, catrox14, you are right about that look on Dean's face. It's very telling and exceptionally well done.

I support this life choice.
