  1. With regard to the IRS issue, they got their current exemption in 1993. LRH died in '86. LRH had gotten temporary status in 1957, but lost it 10 years later. The IRS gave them back the status in 1993 following 25 years of litigation. "spews coffee all over computer monitor"
  2. During the round table episode, one of the questions Leah asked all of them was why they stayed and across the board they said they hoped it would get better, but it didn't.
  3. Leah & Mike with ET after their Emmy Winhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tFCI7smzNM I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when Miss Cabbage heard about this. LOL BTW....thanks for sharing the Miss Cabbage name. I shall use it with glee.
  4. I don't know that it's so much the rise of David Miscavige, it's more like the over throw by David Miscavige with his goon squad. This is a scary being. It made me sad when JB talked about Miscavige going after Mike. At his core, I think Mike's always been a good guy and anyone like that I'm sure Miscavige saw as a threat. I truly wonder what he's done with Shelley.
  5. Laura ripping Sonny a new one has always been a thing of beauty. Too bad no one is allowed to do that anymore.
  6. I broke down and recorded yesterday's show to see how they remembered Lee and was not the least bit surprised that they did as little as possible. While I loved seeing Carly Schroeder, who's grown into a lovely young woman and the interactions of Scott, Serena and Lucy and Laura, it was overall sadly missing everything. It was sad that they had to play the scenes in a microsized hotel room, where there was apparently no room for Laura to set down her huge bag. It was sad they couldn't bring themselves to include a flashback or ten. It was sad that Morgan got and apparently still get days and days and days of mourning, gnashing for teeth and wailing and Lee Baldwin gets a passing glance. As for the rest of the show....can't comment, fast forwarded through all of it.
  7. So, Burton's back. Welp, guess that ensures that I will probably never watch another episode of this show. It was a breath of fresh air when he was gone. Budig's out.......hope she doesn't let the door hit her. Another one of those newbies who was so jammed down my throat in the beginning that there was little to no chance her character would grow on me.
  8. I'm rewatching and I'm going to go shallow here, but when did Leah start to mimic Rinder's not quite Australian anymore accent? She is now pronouncing happen as hoppin' ala Rinder.
  9. The gentleman who was the Guardian made my heart hurt, his guilt still seems to run deep. I think he is the perfect example of someone who had been so completely indoctrinated, he could no longer see the difference between right and wrong. I also agree with everyone on the panel, he needs to forgive himself, Ms. Cooper has. I liked everything about the Australian reporter and I am extraordinarily impressed with what he and a single legislator were able to accomplish and that their perseverance and doggedness paid off.
  10. OMG, the Geary picture. LMAO. I really wish we would have discovered that Joe Scully, Jr really didn't die because of bad water, but that he'd settled in Europe and Tracy ran into him instead of Lunk. Joe and Tracy were a fun pairing, imo.
  11. While this isn't specifically about GH, if the strike comes to pass, it could have an ominous impact on GH and all the other soap. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/17/business/media/with-a-hollywood-writers-strike-looming-heres-what-to-know.html?_r=1
  12. The running gag about the house lost it's humor after Stuart was fired (another reason to loathe JFP & the Gooz). He always had such a good dead pan delivery, that it worked.
  13. Yeah, damn it us bitter Luke & Laura fans. Hate the look on an almost 70 year old man. It would be adorbs on say my 10 year old nephew. :)
  14. I was simply basing my observation on what the audience had been told and had seen of Toby's recruiting CJ to the campaign. I probably misunderstood the whole thing. LOL
  15. The day in the life episode of CJ, Toby says he found her in New York working for a PR firm. One of the best scenes ever was when Toby went to CJ's home in California to offer her the job and she fell into the pool.
  16. While Justice's cake was cute, he'd done much better decorating (see waffles). Kaniyah, oh man her cake was more than a hot mess. IMO, Aidan did the best job on this particular day. While swiss buttercream may have been his plan b, he did a good job with his decorating. Also, he attempted something the others didn't, more than one flavor in his cake and ultimately, I think that's what won it for him. While I enjoyed a couple of the kids this season, hopefully if they're back for Season 4, casting does a much better job.
  17. I thought it was rather interesting when Val congratulated the 3 finalists, the boys were all bouncy/happy and Keniyah, Miss Always OTT, was under enthusiastic to say the least. She just kind of stood there.
  18. I think Tracy believes that since she was married to both of her son's father's at the time they were born, it puts her leaps and bounds above Olivia, who was never married to either father. Tracy has always been a snob.
  19. I did my own mini-marathon this weekend and honestly, Jason should have been gone long before now. I think they kept him for comic relief, the problem with that is.....he wasn't funny. I'm rooting for Justice. He comes off as just a genuinely nice kid.
  20. I believe Edward and Lila both came from old East coast money. Husband #1, Crane Tolliver on the other hand, while loving Lila, maybe loved her family money even more.
  21. I'm on chapter 5 of the audio book. I have little doubt drivers around me think I'm nuts when they see me laughing out loud.
  22. Okay, I admit, I'm not watching but has Olivia "Mama Boyardee" Falconari been sent back to Bensonhurst with the return of Olivia Jerome? Otherwise, wouldn't all those Olivia's get confusing?
  23. And that is one of the reason's I haven't watched since Thanksgiving.
