This brave man has died. He stood up to for his beliefs, he stood up to a tyrant and I believe that tyrant finally found the way to kill him. 😢

My thoughts exactly. Sweeney and Ayres worked so well together in Chronicle Mysteries, I had high hopes for this one. It fell horribly flat. Alison doesn't do wimpy characters well and her character was just blah and, to be, came off a little whiney. Also am not a fan of Ben's curly top. I think the biggest thing was the script just wasn't very good.

The Last Thing He Told Me - General Discussion

I loved this book, hope the movie can hold up. -
The first "campaign" for an Oscar happened in year two of their existence. Mary Pickford invited the judges to her mansion, Pickfair, for tea (actors didn't vote in those days), plus she was a founding member of the academy and guess what, she won. Campaigning has always been a thing, some are just better at it that others. 😉 This is a pretty interesting article. https://www.digitaltrends.com/movies/academy-awards-oscar-campaigning-history/

I have to agree with this. Her parents film careers were winding down as JLC's was coming up. By the time they each passed away (2001-Mom; 2010-Dad), they were mostly doing occasional guest shots on TV. Both parents hey days were in the 50's & 60's. Will a name give you a better chance of getting in the door, sure, but to have a 40 year career with your own hit movies kind of kills the nepotism argument in my mind.

I am particularly happy that all the acting awards went to first time winners. There were years when it seemed like the same people just kept winning (looking at you Tom Hanks). Can we bottle up Ke Huy Quan's enthusiasm for being alive and sell it? Loved Indy and Short Rounds hug. Spielberg kinda looked like the proud Papa. LOL So very glad Navalny won for best documentary. He mustn't be forgotten and left to languish. Overall, this is one of the better Oscars in the last 5+ years.

I was so lucky to see Ms. Lansbury in 3 broadway productions. She was fabulous in each one. The woman's range was amazing be it films, tv or broadway. I still think her character in Manchurian Candidate is truly one of the most evil ever.

I had the extreme good fortune to meet Ms. Newton-John on a couple of different occasions. She was exactly like you'd expect her to be warm, kind and generous with her time. I feel so lucky to have had those opportunities. Fly with the angels. -

RIP Larry Storch. For those who are old enough, his most well known role was on F Troop. He was 99. -
One of these times he'll go missing and never been seen or heard from again. 😥

Well, this is a new scary wrinkle. His attorney went to visit him in the prison he has been held in and was told there is no prisoner by that name there. No one, at the moment, knows where he is.

Overall, I enjoyed the show, but I'd primarily tuned in to see the Life Time Achievement award to Angela Lansbury, which never came to pass. Even though Ms. Lansbury didn't make the show, it would have been nice to show her the respect she's earned and done the presentation during the main telecast. As much as I adore Hugh Jackman, he's just not Harold Hill. I was surprised by Billy Porter, his outfit was pretty calm. I also thought the tribute to Sondheim was flat.

Her countersuit wasn't about the OpEd directly, it was for three statements made by one of Depp's attorneys during his representation of Depp. Her claims were that all three statements were defamatory. She won on one statement and lost on 2. Also, he doesn't get 15mm. There is a cap on punitive damages, he gets $350,000. There is no cap on compensatory damages, so his final tally is 10.35mm. AH's award was for compensatory damages, so it is the full 2mm.

RIP, Ray!! There wasn't anything he did that I didn't like him in. Maybe the movie as a whole wouldn't be the best, you knew he'd always bring his best work. -
Hooray, Ducky was on my screen. For a man almost 89 years old, he's still great. Good overall episode.

The Kardashians (Hulu) Season 1

Because Kourtney wants to be Kim and Travis just wants to be relevant and the only way to get that attention is to grope each other in public apparently. JMO, of course.
