  1. I love the shunning of girl-on-girl crime, but felt that Lauren's harsh reaction to Christina in the kitchen was a bit mean in and of itself.
  2. I was surprised at just how angry I got at him last night. Already he annoyed me last week with his bonfire behavior (and put your damn shoes on in the Uber plz). But this week was extra gross because it was all right in front of Lauren. I get that she's not "taking a hint," but his hints are mixed in with confusing signals like his choice to charm her family. Regardless, he knows he's not interested in her and is playing that deeply obnoxious "What, I'm single" game. That he keeps it all inside the house speaks volumes about his need for attention, regardless of who gets hurt. I really felt for Lauren when she said he was the one who pursued her hard, especially after hearing him talk in a confessional about how he always tries to hunt out the hottest girl in each summer house. Dude wants to shit where he eats and complain about the smell. Carl seems like a decent guy otherwise and like a wonderful son, but he needs to knock off this nonsense.
  3. Despite my initial hatred and negative flashbacks to some of the things and people I do not miss about New York, the show sucked me in and now I'm hooked and even like all the cast members in their own ways. But it drives me nuts to see them talk about having to drive in a few hours when they are shitfaced! And when I saw the twins take the train I wondered why they don't all do that anyway. That is one thing I never understood when I lived there, was anyone's desire to drive in NYC in the first place. But even for those who do, it seems like a train's still a better option if you're going to be drunk the entire time.
  4. I think she says in the pilot that she wants/wanted to be a music producer.
  5. Is this a new thing, where guys have girlfriends or wives and think they support them, even when said women work outside the home? Because that's not really financially taking care of someone IMO. And Jax isn't the first person I've heard talk this way. I loved the lawyer; he reminded me of Dick Miller!
  6. I'm 100% with you, but my boss actually requested one a few years ago!
  7. Oh this is really disappointing. I actually am not into the original but was interested in this.
  8. Seriously! She looks fabulous dolled up, but also so great when she's casual. In other news, Stassi and Brittany's relationship has become one of my favorite things about the show. I have a huge soft spot for Stassi, and I think Brittany really brings out her best. She seems protective of Brittany and it's not easy to hang out with an ex and the new person, but never gives off a flirty vibe to Jax, just kindness to Brittany. It's nice.
  9. I wouldn't even go to luaus when I ate meat! So glad to see the non-Jaxes having Brittany's back. She is totally charming and he is lucky to have her. As big a jerk as he can be, I actually would feel very sad for him if he lost her. And I also think she seems like someone who'd be very doting and make all the sandwiches if Jax spent more time treating her well. Kristen has been looking downright stunning.
  10. I never watched any Real Housewives, but would love to see this! Is it the whole gang, or just Scheana?
  11. I'm from Long Island and agree. Even when I lived there, I had no interest in going to the Hamptons.
  12. "Jax starts out strong. He helps Brittany install curtain rods; agrees to be a part of Stassi's podcast and talk about why he's the smell of urine on a hot summer day in human form"... And then, just when I think no way can this recap get more perfect, there's a freaking POLTERGEIST reference!!! Love your writing, Jordan Veilleux!
  13. This was such a beautiful recap and so perfectly put. I'm a Gen Xer and haven't been able to put into words anything about this show, because it makes me feel SO much all at once. Thank you for writing these <3
  14. She started as Gretchen Wiener and has become Heather Duke!
  15. I think part of the disappointment from Jay over Rachel's behavior is definitely in part due to his thinking she'd be better than this, but I also see it as disappointment in what he's worked/working for. Since he is far from perfect, maybe Rachel's transition gives him even less to strive for in his career and fear over what it's done and will do to him -- because it's a monster maker. I found it interesting that Rachel was doing coke. It would explain beyond just the power high why she is more aggressive this season. Last season she seemed to drink a lot, and I often wondered what was in some of the seemingly N/A bottles she walked around set with. But did she do coke, as well?
  16. I just watched the one with the girl with the baby -- it's the pizza girl from "Friends"/Batista's girlfriend! But I didn't like her on "90210," and will need reminders about who the others are. Nikki was definitely my favorite Brandon girlfriend, then Emily. And I really loved the San Francisco story back in the day, but was still pissed about Brandon saying at the Senior Breakfast that no one ever meant more to him than freaking Gabrielle Anwar. Then three months later he's all ditching poor Cindy and Casa Walsh to find love of his life Emily? Whatever, Brandon!
  17. I started in S3 and saw scattered S1 and 2 eps. Even with just some knowledge of the earlier seasons, I was super annoyed by Katie's slut-shaming of Lala when she took her top off/said sexual things. Now that I've binged out on S1 and especially S2 on Hulu, it's like, are you freaking kidding me? Those girls were shown (fully, not just half-) naked WAY more than Lala ever was. And it wasn't like they spent their time discussing purity or even Ayn Rand :-D How much is editing, how much is drama for the cameras I don't know, but that really bugged me, especially now that I just watched the Cabo eps.
  18. Omg, that is perfect. PERFECT! Not sure I'll ever watch an '80s adventure movie in the same way again :-D
  19. Even though I was hooked on this show from episode one, I'm a bit taken aback at just how much I've grown to truly love it and care about the characters. - So happy to hear Katie Stevens sing again!!! The lack thereof has been my least-favorite part of the past season or so. I dug the harmonizing between her and Shane on that summer song. And was "Somebody to Love" a bit of a dig at "Glee," or just coincidence? - Didn't realize Shane's new love interest is trans, and I can't wait to see where the show goes with it. - While I'm enjoying Lauren's Greek chorusing many fans' complaints, I dig that Amy doesn't necessarily know how to "label" herself. Her scenes with Felix IMO have chemistry, though I do agree they are better off as friends and she seems to have more chemistry with women. - Speaking of women, how hot did Amy's mom look in this ep??? - And omg, McKaley Miller!!! I was going through peak "Hart of Dixie" withdrawal when she showed up in "Scream Queens," only to end up dead within the first five minutes. Seeing as she made it all the way through this ep, I have hopes that she might stick around! So did Karma and Amy hug in the end? My DVR maddeningly cut off right as they went towards each other in the hospital!
  20. You made my day with the Lila Fowler reference! I totally watched all of S1 yesterday, like a fiend.
