  1. I wish people would stop insinuating/flat-out saying that Ariana would get married and want kids, just not with Tom. Not every woman wants those things!
  2. I read them talking about their Vegas trip on Twitter and felt exhausted. Just one of the things on their long itinerary would have been enough socializing to last me a month or two!
  3. I LOVE "Impractical Jokers!" I'm right now proudly wearing my "Scoopski Potatoes" shirt! It's a hilarious show and they seem like legit nice guys. Joe's Twitter is constantly about uplifting others and I love him. Yay to IJ!!!
  4. Not sure about Wendy, but Jill's first meeting is in the first ep we meet her. That's one reason I maintain my unpopular opinion of wanting the kids around, at least a bit. I love the overall shift to the AA ladies, but Christy's a much more sympathetic character as a mom, and part of the whole dynamic has always been that yeah Bonnie failed her, but she failed her kids too. That's a HUGE part of so many people's stories in AA and I think the show is missing out on a lot of material by abandoning their parent/child relationship nearly completely. I'd hoped to see them all grow together.
  5. Thanks, and back at you! And yeah, I totally agree with everything you said <3
  6. I found this ep interesting in that for such an alcohol-centric show, it was like an ad for AA, if AA relied on promotion rather than attraction! James is getting fired for behaving like a troublemaking alcoholic; Lala is abstaining because she knows she has it in her too; James's mom is nine months and eight days sober...I had no idea she'd quit drinking and was so stoked for her that I went and found her on Twitter to say that's awesome, and she was really sweet in response. I'm nine months tomorrow, so to hear her out of nowhere say that made me burst into tears. I really hope James can follow her lead, because he's young and really does have so much potential. Alcohol really is "cunning, baffling, and powerful," and his inability to make the choice to abstain when he has SO much to lose if he drinks is a huge red flag. He and Lala kind of danced around the "will they or won't they" with sobriety in S5 and I hope she sticks with it and he gets there. It would be really cool if Lisa paid for him to go to rehab, a good one where he could work on his music and see how full his life already is without this destructive-to-him substance.
  7. This ep was so good but so hard to watch. Anna Faris KILLED it, forced to just keep on going through this tremendous humiliation. Violet needs to go to an Al-Anon meeting, stat. My heart broke for Christy, but I loved the scene at the end with her and Bonnie; I lost it. <3
  8. She did call Lala a slut back in S4 but even then, it felt out of character for her.
  9. Same here. And the baby stuff is only making me less interested in Amy. I really do love America Ferrera and the show though, so I'm hoping they get it together with her character.
  10. In the minority here, but I LOVED this show. I binged it last weekend and fell in utter love. I was little in the '70s and a child actress, so it brought back a lot of memories with the feel of it.
  11. Maybe he could send telegrams like they did on 90210!
  12. Oh man. I'm so sad it's over. Not much to add except that I love the couples that ended up staying together. When Leon and Leah were standing there looking at their place, I actually cried out loud, "Don't do it!" in this super whiny, embarrassing voice. I'm so glad they stayed together and got Alex the Dog. I'd be 100% down for a spinoff of them. And I love Laura with Tathiana. I always thought her best chemistry was with Aubrey in past seasons and was really happy she ended up dating strictly women this last one, with Tathiana being who she ends up with. Lorenza Izzo rocks. I thought it was kind of cool that the two adults the show mainly focused on in the beginning didn't "end up" with anyone right now. I was so, SO happy Rae ended up staying with Jeff. Just because you have a kid with someone doesn't make you right for each other. I thought all that was handled super realistically and Tommy Dewey did such a perfect job with all of it. The scenes where he and Rae had these like, intra-relationship breakup cries -- it was so artfully done and I felt so hard for both of them. Taking them to Austin with Jeff was a good decisionr IMO. Michaela Watkins's reaction to the Tom Petty song was perfection. That mini-sob from your gut when you're kind of done crying but something hits you unexpectedly -- she made me do it too. I'm glad they ended with her single but fine with that, and having shown so much growth. One of the pics I'd seen from S4 led me to believe she gets back together with the exhusband, and I'm so glad that didn't happen. I'm going to miss you, "Casual." Thank you for the unexpected television love affair when I really needed it. <3
  13. Agreed. It wasn't popular, but I actually really enjoyed "Jax and Brittany Take Kentucky," but hated the J/B drama of this last season. So I'd MUCH prefer a spinoff dedicated to it and an S7 focus on the other folks.
  14. I think this may be the first season where I expect the reunion to be more interesting (and more authentic) than the season itself.
  15. I've been into makeup since the '80s and still would have no idea where to begin with all that stuff they were using! Oh that made me so mad! Hot sauce rules all!
  16. I don't think Bonnie and Adam needed to have any plans, even for sex, to be thrown off by Christy's presence. It's easy as a couple to get used to it just being you two and having your space and routine, when someone else's presence just puts a wrench in things, even if you'd be doing the exact same things.
  17. Jax also at least acted like he was in love with Stassi. Granted he had a shitty way of doing it and he's the one who sabotaged them with the cheating in the first place, but he did seem legit crazy about her (and still kind of does). Patrick treats Stassi like gum on his shoe. In general, I found this season super uncomfortable because of three women in the main cast slobbering over men who treat them like crap. Patrick reminds me very much of both Stassi's dad and Nikolai to a lesser extent.
  18. I think it's a cool name, but was JUST thinking about how interesting Christy's name choices were -- like even though she was a big ol' mess when she had them, their names showed sign of her romantic soul :) I also always wondered about how/if she was sober when she was pregnant. Maybe they've addressed it? I know several alcoholics/addicts who quit cold turkey for nine months of pregnancy, but then started right back up again after they gave birth or were finished breastfeeding. I always wondered how anyone could have the strength to be sober for that long and then go right back to old ways, but it truly is a cunning and baffling disease.
  19. I adore Jill and Jaime Pressly's portrayal of her, and hope the same. Of all the characters on the show, I think she's gone through the most in front of us and even though she's fictional, I feel very protective of her! Also I feel a kinship because for one week, she and I both were on the same chip <3 My husband's been watching the show with me since I started going to meetings, and I'll be like "It's another Jill's sad in bed ep, those are always good." Because as hilarious as she is, JP can do some really heavy emotional lifting, acting-wise. But after all the hard times she's been through, I'd LOVE to see her emotional life flourish, whether with a man, a child, or both! Not because every woman wants or needs those things, but because she does. Still, I think she needs a few more chips before having a new person enter her life in a major way. You're not alone, and whether you meant to or not, you did AA work just by sharing that, because you helped a fellow struggling alcoholic! I hope that you get back in the flow and while being firm with yourself, don't beat yourself up either. And I agree about Christy's having a sponsor closer to her own age, and also think it's good that she has one established strong boundaries and made it clear that her role was as Christy's sponsor, not friend. Marjorie showed that she can set boundaries, like that time when she tried to help Christy learn to turn off her phone. But their relationship is also very personal and we saw that Marjorie is very attached to her, sometimes selfishly, like when she pretended to be the murderous man in the raincoat. I think it will be healthy for both of them to continue with the evolution of their friendship as equals in the program, rather than have a sponsor/sponsee relationship.
  20. French Stewart! I miss him on the show. And I just rewatched that ep too! Love that one. Allison Janney brought a lot of humor to it, but one thing I love so much about her is her vulnerable face acting. Her switch from excited and happy while painting her toenails to "Well of course, that was dumb to let myself be happy" disappointment comes through with just a shift of her face and tone of voice. I felt so bad for her. But in a way it was kind of good to have the realism -- sometimes people are just cads, and having a blue-collar back story and a ton of charm doesn't mean their waters run deep, or that the attention they lavish on potential "conquests" will translate to kindness once the sex is over.
  21. "If he's going to yell at Ken and I" -- Oh, Lisa.
  22. Stassi said he was, in I think S2 when they were having some sex with the ex. Other thoughts: The music in the hotel room scene with Kristen/Katie/Stassi sounded like the "Game of Thrones" theme and I wondered if it was intentional, and a shoutout to Stassi's limited playlist she mentioned a couple of weeks ago. Brittany, I like you but you're the one staying with a cheater. Stop putting it on all the other women. Like in S4 when Lala was "a little bitch" and now the imaginary "some ho" Jax could be Facetiming with. No, Kelsey. PLZ FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NEVER COMPARE JAX TO NELSON MANDELA EVER AGAIN. Kristen eats Caesar salad? That's not usually vegetarian. Maybe it is at that place? Schwartz busting out a Joey Lawrence reference = awesome.
