  1. I'm currently watching ER mostly spoiler free for the first time and I'm halfway through season 9. My unpopular opinion was going to be that I hate Abby, but I see yall agree! So I'll change it: My unpopular opinion is that the character of Luca is horrible and the actor isn't much better. This is like a soap opera recast. He's not Doug, but he's Doug and he is terrible. I've given him enough time I feel and I just don't understand his purpose and why he has so much screentime. He is HORRIBLE and so is Abby. I loved her at first and I do enjoy her at times, but she is so DARK and miserable. I'm sick of this mess. When her mom showed up this season I took a two day break because I couldn't bear more Sally Field.
  2. Going back to the Noah Wyle/Sherry Stringfield thing, I'm watching ER for the first time and as I watch I look up interviews about certain things and one thing I noticed with Kelli Martin is that Noah Wyle has admitted in multiple interviews for treating her terribly. He says he regrets it because he didn't realize her sister died a week before she joined the show, but at the time he let fame get to his head and treated her badly. He also forced them to end the Lucy/Carter romance. With that in mind it makes me wonder if the Stringfield rumors might actually be true.
  3. Thank you. It’s frustrating the way they do soaps. I wish they’d tell them in advance so you can plan out the end properly. I wonder if they’ll try to move it to Peacock and if that’s why they’re so quiet on it. It would be similar to how they used Passions to launch DirecTV.
  4. I have a question about the renewal. To my knowledge the show hasn't been renewed. I saw Ryan Qwan had posted they're keeping their fingers crossed. With them filming ahead I believe they're almost to the end of their order which I believe runs through August with the new season starting in September. I guess if they keep filming that means it'll be renewed, but it definitely worries me that we're so close and don't have a renewal announcement yet. If the show does end up going off the air they deserve a chance to properly wrap things up.
  5. I enjoyed it, but this show doesn’t work being released weekly. I get why they’re doing it to help spread out content, but this show doesn’t lend to that format. This is MADE for binging because each episode is more of a piece of a puzzle and doesn’t have a clear beginning, middle and end. I feel like in order to understand it I’ll have to rewatch it once it’s over.
  6. I enjoyed some of this, but overall I agree it was a mess. I felt like they sidelined Wonder Woman as a character. There were far too many scenes without her. I also didn’t like the idea of her losing her powers (especially within such a silly plot). Seeing Wonder Woman get shot and not even trying to use her bracelets was stupid. They also overdid it with the lasso. I felt like the WW on the original film was more confident than what we got here. This felt more like a Wonder Woman who just arrived, not a seasoned one who had been around for decades. As for the villains, I liked both but they didn’t have time to develop both. The highlight of the entire film was of course Lynda Carter as Asteria! Sad that such a short scene was the highlight, but it was. I’m glad she’s still playing an Amazonian and that they allowed a woman to be portrayed as strong at that age. I hope they give her something to do in the next film similar to Michael Douglas in Ant Man. Lynda just has that it factor and honestly she should’ve probably played a bigger role in this film. It only highlighted Gal’s limitations as an actresss. I’d love to see them working together though.
  7. I don’t know that I could’ve found her guilty at the first trial, but I feel her Dateline interviews sealed the deal for me. I also feel like those interviews would kill any type of an appeal. It’s wild how many people will interview for these shows either knowing they’re the killer, or without there being a main suspect. It just seems to risky to me. I’d only consider it once the case is closed.
  8. I was caught up on everything Bake Off on Netflix so I decided to watch this and have mixed feelings. I wanted to love season one, but lord was it slow, difficult to understand and poorly edited. For such long episodes and a slow pace I found it difficult to keep track of the challenges and what exactly was going on. I also didn’t like how they barely showed the food when judging. The best part of the season was obviously Nadiya. Now season 2 I didn’t plan to watch since season 1 was so bad, but I tried the first episode and it was drastically better. The format is clean and easy to follow, the families are more diverse not only ethnically, but in terms of food and the Hosts/Judges are good. It also moves so much faster but without losing the details I felt I missed in season one. The only thing that wouldve made this better is had Nadiya remained as a third judge/host.
  9. I just finished The Good Wife and I started this naturally and was pleasantly surprised by how different it was despite feeling like it’s part of the same universe. Visually it looks more expensive and cinematic and at least from the first two episodes, it feels more elevated than the tiring soap opera of Alicia as the original went on. The biggest thing I loved was that they had so many black characters and that it took place at a black law firm. I was also shocked because based on promo material I’ve seen I didn’t realize that. Now reading this thread and doing research I’m disappointed that it seems Erica Tazel left and we also have Cush and Delroy’s exits to look forward to in season 5. I know Audra McDonald joins, but at least as of season four, do the black characters still have a strong presence or is it left to Audra to carry the torch? I’m going to enjoy what we have, but it’s disappointing because from the episodes I’ve seen these are the most captivating actors in the show. I just cannot fathom how you decide to write off Erica Tazel who is excellent.
  10. You said it perfectly. This is a manufacturing competition for Amazon and *not* a design competition. Having a workroom and the odd seamstress element which isn't shown means that the entire first half of the show is boring until they reach the runway. I don't blame the designers for having a lack of urgency as much as I blame the format. Since it is a manufacturing competition I wish they didn't have a workroom and had a different type of setup for the first half. There has to be a way to do it that is interesting. If anything, I want them to edit the first half down some and give more of the runway/judging because I just can't watch them looking around like they're half crazy trying to figure out how to make a pattern or write notes for a seamstress we won't see.
  11. IIRC, in one of the recent judges episodes of Chopped, there was an episode where Amanda won. All I remember is thinking Maneet was robbed. The entire episode they kept hyping that Amanda always loses so the momentum was definitely on her side. Interesting she ends up against Maneet again and beats her lol. Overall I have enjoyed this show and hope it comes back. Even with the spinning wheel the things they're tasked with seem manageable and the food in the end is generally good. Because the standard was high I didn't really care who won unless a personality really spoke to me like Darnell.
  12. I noticed that Hulu has now added what seems like every episode so I'm going back to the beginning to see stuff I haven't found in repeats. The first episode was very sluggish compared to how it is now. You had 30 minutes in the appetizer round and the ingredients were octopus, paprika, bok choy and oyster sauce. The contestants were so baffled by this basket and I just couldn't understand lol. These are Asian ingredients and there was no curve ball. Nobody decided to go in an Asian direction either. For the second round it was Asian (and easy) again. Duck breast, ginger, honey and spring onion. I'd be curious to see a newer episode take these same baskets to see if you'd get more innovation from these easy baskets. Also interesting is that someone cut their finger and he wasn't made to get a band aid or even wash his hands. He even commented he needed a band aid, but he was holding his cut with a paper towel. A second season episode that bothered me featured a chef who made two dishes with red onion and Scott went off on him because he hates the taste of red onion. The chef was very confident in his use of them and you could tell the judges hated him. Then in the final round the other chef was making a cake which didn't cook in time and he had 5 minutes left but basically pouted and gave up. Then 30 seconds before the round ended he decided to try to make pancakes but he just gave up and didn't plate it. Then the judges asked his competitor if they could taste it and he said no. They STILL gave the win to the guy who threw the fit. It was baffling to me. I can't imagine rewarding someone who threw a fit and gave up.
  13. This episode was a lot better than the first one. I'm so happy Martha went home. I just cannot fathom not knowing how to sew, make a pattern or sketch it seems. She seems like someone who had money to start a line, but I don't believe she designs anything. At home she probably can verbalize an idea and an actual designer creates the design for her. A person like that can't have success on a show like this. On the subject of Naomi, I loved her lol. I do agree she is very direct, but I think that's because she takes fashion seriously. It works for me because the panel is very balanced. Every judge feels useful to me because their perspectives and personalities are unique. I feel Naomi is balanced out with the other judges. For me the only part of the show I enjoy is the runway and judging. Due to the seamstresses doing most of the work I find the first half of the episodes to be pretty dull. I miss seeing them make the clothes.
  14. I love Heidi and Tim in their respective roles which is why I watched, but I'm not sold. I felt the first episode they were trying too hard to tell us this was edgy, different and grand. SHOW, don't tell. The constant mugging for a bigger reaction turned me off and made it feel cheap. I also HATE HATE HATE the execution of the seamstress idea. With Martha for example, how is she a designer if she doesn't design anything? I may have missed her sketch, but I didn't see a sketch just heard her mention an idea. On Next In Fashion they had seamstresses to help with the collection, but they could only execute what the designer said and I believe the designers made the patterns for them. With this I just didn't understand. If you can't make a pattern OR sew, how are you designing? It also makes the episodes feel looooong and boring. I wish the sewing was more of a collaboration with the seamstress more as a backup to help tailor and with time constraints. Now the positive for me was the judging panel. They were absolutely stunning and what I wouldn't give to take all of them and put them on Project Runway (perhaps with Naomi as the host). After the boring first half of the show I felt it came alive with the runway and I loved the casual nature of the judging.
  15. Has this been confirmed anywhere? I find it hard to believe they'd put it on a Friday where it would have little chance for success. I imagine it'll be paired with RHOBH which is up there with RHOA in terms of ratings. I also don't expect it as early as April since they're in the middle of filming.
