  1. “Please don’t think that I’m here to gossip,” says Sally to Hope. Why would we think that?!! Just because you literally JUST met her and are sharing personal information about Steffy and Liam along with your speculations? D’uh, that’s what gossip is. “It’s just, you know, once I saw you, I realized here’s somebody that cares about Liam just as much as I do,” she continues. Try ‘met you’ in place of ‘saw you.’ Sally’s so-called knowledge of Hope and Liam’s relationship would be based on gossip and hearsay. If the writers want us to buy Hope’s “goodness” they shouldn’t have her engaging in gossip with someone she just met (ditto on Sally). And, if we’re supposed to buy the insta-friendship / insta-connection between these two, they should have found a better way. On a positive note, I love Hope’s blazer, including the combination of it with the striped blouse.
  2. I've always liked SC (including his time on GH) and this story line has been done well - I'm surprised at how quickly Steffy was found out. Certainly not excusing Steffy and Bill's ONS, but this show has a history of sweeping such things away with everyone happy-go-lucky and interacting as if there was no big deal. I'm waiting for the show wrap this up in its usual bow. Brooke slept with Ridge while married to Eric and didn't know which had fathered Rick; ditto for her pregnancy with Bridget. She also had an affair with her daughter's husband resulting in the Hope pregnancy. Siblings swap spouses at an unbelievable rate, and the family trees are beyond ridiculous, even for a soap. While this may indeed be the end of Steffy and Liam, I don't necessarily want her to lose the baby. In fact, there may be more soapy goodness in having the baby. It would be a page right out of B&B's playbook to have Bill and Steffy get together with Bill the stepfather to his grandchild.
  3. As a longtime soap watcher, I understand the need for SORAS, but B&B's use is too unbelievable. Brooke is the perfect case in point. Rick is her oldest and is now portrayed in his mid-30s. However, Bridget was 18 (at the youngest) when Brooke had Hope (the result of her affair with Bridget's then-husband Deacon). Using SORAS on Hope takes Hope's age plus 18 for Bridget, so add a few years on that for Rick and now Rick is in his 40s. Even rewriting history to have Brooke have had Rick in her early 20s, this puts her in her 60s. With Ridge as her contemporary, now Eric is in his 80s. Do they de-SORAS Hope? If so, what does that do to Liam and Steffy's ages and back stories? No wonder the show can't have Bridget and Hope involved in story lines at the same time. Even worse than B&B's fickle use of ages, is their fickle use of back stories. At this point, they should go the route of American Horror Story using the same actors, but starting new plot lines each season. To me that would be better than rewriting character personalities to match whatever narrative is the current flavor of the day/sweeps. I liked Ingo Rademacher on GH, but the rewrite of Thorne isn't doing it for me. I'm tired of throwing "you're not a real Forrester" around. Regardless of paternity (another in-the-moment plot point needed to connect the newly created character of Massimo after scoring the coup of signing Joseph Mascalo) Eric raised Ridge believing him to be his son. It would have been one thing to have changed the paternity in Ridge's youth, but as a grown adult, he should be considered a Forrester. The snide comments made by characters is trite and vapid. With the current story lines, there are no characters worth rooting for, including Sally and Liam. Sally is just another character who changes to meet the current plot lines. I'd much prefer character-driven story lines. Sorry for the rant, but as a viewer from Day 1 it's been disappointing to see what's become/becoming of this show.
  4. Typical. I had to fast forward through that Q&A. I can't stand that question, nor can I stand the mostly insipid responses. My other pet peeve Q&A is when the judges ask who should be aufed. I watch for the creativity and for the mentoring critiques, not the drama that the producers love to create and promote.
  5. I'm right there with you. I quit this show once before for several seasons after Gretchen won, and I can do it again. Overall, this season was disappointing. The only reasons I stuck it out were liking the personalities of most of the designers (honestly, if Rick, Roberi, or Laurence had won, I would have been happy) and being able to debrief the episodes with a coworker and fellow watcher. Like many have commented, the Erin win seemed predetermined early on. I think PR needs a shakeup of the judges and judging.
  6. Great insight. And, yes, with all that she has worked for and/or opportunities she's been provided, she should indeed aim higher. It's almost as if not only did the Palladino's want to ignore S7, they wrote these episodes as if they happened right after college, not 10 years later. Maybe this was their S7 with Rory still in college.
  7. It crossed my mind that Rory may have deliberately gotten pregnant. She was with Logan throughout most of her college years and who knows how often over the ten years since graduation without getting pregnant. Your thoughts support a planned pregnancy. Disappointing.
  8. Good catch! Not only that, but since they couldn't secure CMM, why bother? There were certainly many, many other memories of Chilton that would have given Paris cause for the freak out.
  9. This, a thousand times this! Agreed, Rory has a lot of growing up to do. For all her, "I'm not backs," and looking her nose down on the other 30-somethings who had returned home, she has squandered the opportunities that prep school and Yale should have afforded her. While the wedding scene was absolutely delightful, romantic, and perfect for Luke & Lorelei, IMO, the best storyline of all four arcs was Emily coming to terms with Richard's death and her future.
  10. Currently watching Summer and it's at the musical. All I can think is that this is the Palladino's big FU to the fans, their way of getting even, I guess, with the CW for Season 7. I have put the TV on mute. I can't believe I bought in to all the hype for this reunion.
  11. Exactly. Also, the first thing that came to my mind was the doll house. As "bad" as she remembers her childhood, I couldn't believe there wasn't one nice memory she could think to share. And this should probably go in the Unpopular Opinion thread, but... Overall, my initial reaction was, "What the hell did I just watch??!?!?!!!" The storylines were not at all how I imagined the characters to have grown and developed over ten years, especially Lorelei. She's in a long-term relationship, but neither brings up the issue of having children, just assumes the other doesn't want them. That's not the Luke/Lorelei end game espoused. The Sookie storyline and revolving door of chefs was lame; I agree on the too much Kirk; the boyfriend of Rory's gag was inane; Lane's band rehearses in the living room, seriously? And so much more. For someone who has been so disparaging of Season 7, ASP and DP, wrote Winter so much worse. IMO, the only bright spot was the acting from Emily Bishop. Hopefully, the next episode will be better.
  12. So much this ^ and, yes, the plaid skirt under Erin's coat was made by Cornelius. While I haven't been wowed by Cornelius' designs throughout this season, I feel he should not have been aufed, which is the only reason I support the save. Without Cornelius' skirt, Erin wouldn't have had a finished look, and I agree with the post that said the pockets ruined it. Also, her looks each week are all the same. I'm surprised the judges haven't called her on that. I've been liking Dexter, but his outfit was nothing special, and he was the one who fashioned the hair, makeup, and accessories that the judges didn't like. Cornelius made his look, assisted Dexter, and made the skirt for Erin's outfit. Either Erin or Dexter should have lost. Lastly, I wish PR would call a moratorium on using the "thrown under the bus" phrase. Ugh.
  13. My first thought when the Under Bakers weren't eliminated was that the Food Network just wanted to keep them for the potential drama. Like you, that is not why I watch these baking/creating competitions. They should have been eliminated on the basis of their unsportsmanlike conduct.
