I liked the new mystery, it changed things up a bit by having multiple actual mysteries going on at the same time and the big threat turning out not to be a big threat. The IT guy was definitely suspicious, especially once he showed up in her office and took her other computer. But I actually didn't mind that they kind of dropped it, since I was waiting for him to come back into the story on the other mysteries and was pleasantly surprised when he didn't. The misdirect with the shooting was a bit predictable since there was still time left in the movie and you know they were setting up a twist, but I didn't hate it. The IT guy was definitely deranged if he was ready to tamper with emails and murder just so his girlfriend would come with him into a new opportunity instead of discussing options like an adult I don't think she made the final "final" decision on the hiring, but as the head of the committee who did the interviews, I think she sent an email to the rest of the board with her recommendation that they hire Tabby and then it would go from there, which left a place for him to tamper with the message... except that she would know it wasn't what she sent. Kind of a dumb plan, but people are dumb. I wasn't sure what to expect with the relationship stuff. I like that they kissed and clearly have feelings for each other and clearly want to be dating.... but I was afraid they were going to be like the Murder She Baked and suddenly be engaged after not even being obviously "dating", so in some ways I'm glad to see progress, but I also don't need them to get married right away.... just be together and solve some mysteries!

I also think he just hasn’t had time since he couldn’t do it with the wife there and he was trying to find his ship and device...

I was so ready to come here to complain that Rose was robbed of a win, but it was great to see her and Symone both get the win. Their ads were funny, their runway looks were good, though I didn't think Symone's was somehow super elevated.... but I feel like that can be so subjective anyway.... But I'm not mad she was in the top! I'm okay with Tina going, though I like her more than I did earlier in the season. I still don't get Kandy, her runway look was terrible. Her commercial had some goofiness but the concept wasn't super clear from watching. I think I understand what Gottmik was going for, but the execution wasn't very good. Just calling her drink "Delusion" or something might have played better. I liked Olivia's runway look but her commercial was hard to follow. Utica's was sort of the same. You got the sad and then happy but it got to quirky to make as much sense as it should have, if that makes sense? I liked her runway look and her makeup. But I would have been okay if she'd been the one sent home too...

While in general killing someone is a bad thing and surely would upset Asta, but if it comes out Harry killed humanharry, Asta didn’t know him. They weren’t friends or had ever met before so at least there won’t also be the “you killed my friend” piece of it... It’s also possible they will twist things so someone else gets blamed for humanharry’s death.

I think we saw him with Darcy on the glacier doing the controlled avalanche.

Okay, the music, especially in the scene when they find the floating lady in the field, sounds so much like something I've heard before in another show/movie.... I can't figure out what.... anybody know what I'm talking about?

Just finished this show, glad to see there is a S3 coming. It definitely took a little while to get into... but the 2nd half of the first season and the 2nd season were a lot easier to keep watching. I would agree that most of the human characters are jerks, but they kind of grew on me. The Dean twist in the first season was surprising, but I did like that the killer wasn't completely predictable and also that Murphy wasn't crazy when she thought she found Tyson's body and then he was gone.... I was very pissed that Dean was able to just get away with everything, so I'm glad in the end he didn't, though I really feel for Chloe. She's awesome and deserved to have a good dorky dad like they made it seem in the first season. I hope if she isn't in the next season, we at least get an update on where she ended up... but I also would be happy to see more of her. I liked the bond between her and Murphy and that she was willing to trust Murphy. I'm concerned for Josh next season, I don't think they will go their, since I don't want our crew to all be killers, but I was worried he was gonna get a bonk on the head or something to stop him from turning them in. Hopefully the gang can just go on the run or something... I do think he was good for murphy, but yeah, she's not so great for anybody.... Max is a disaster, Murphy was right when she dumped him, that they bring out the worst in each other... I'll be tuning in next season, but I wouldn't mind if we got away from the drug running stuff... Josiah doesn't want to be mixed up with their shit, he can see how well that worked out for Nia.

I agree that Denali and Olivia were the least dramatic when it comes to making them look like each other.... though probably because they are both pretty queens that don't have as dramatic a difference in styles. It was fun to watch them change up their styles and for the most part they were good pairings. Like most people, I don't get Kandy and while Gottmik had 'attitude' the makeup didn't seem like anything special, though Kandy's makeup isn't really anything stellar IMO, so I guess it fits. Gottmik did a good job with Kandy, though I still don't really care for Gottmik's style most of the time. I really liked Symone and Utica, they did a great job with each other and really got to showcase something different. Not happy to see Denali go home, but I don't think the judging was completely off base...

I hope she's gone for good.... It was funny for awhile, but the storyline of his wife wore out it's welcome.

Wasn't it more pieces of his ship/ his device falling off as he passed over Colorado? And then he was able to land the rest of the ship in NM but had to travel back to CO to find the parts of his ship and his device so he could fly home. Like part of the engine fell off, but not all of it, so he was able to get to the ground somewhere, just not where the pieces had fallen off. It would make sense that the device was mounted to the outside of his ship somewhere so he could use it to destroy life on earth from the atmosphere...

I think it’s a combination of things in that he’s body changed to take on a human form/shape for the most part, but also there is a degree of mind manipulation that the kid can see through... And also some tv magic 🙂

I definitely think that storyline was shit and unwatchable, and the ratings seemed to agree.... so if it was the best way he could think of to incorporate her pregnancy and it wasn't meant to be an attack, then he is a much worse writer than he has been given credit for. That storyline was one of the worst things in the Angel/Buffy verse.

Not knowing exactly how things worked on the buffy set, one thing I would think of would be things like ad libbing during scenes or blocking the scenes. If someone is a favorite, they may be the one who always gets to keep their ad lib lines in the show and the other people get "nope, you suck, re do this the way we wrote it/ the way other actor played it" It's going to happen some times in a collaborative environment, but it would be easy for someone to "play favorites" and only the favored person gets to keep their extra lines/extra screen time/ better blocking so they are facing the camera etc. When it becomes a pattern and the person he doesn't like never gets to have input the way the rest of the favorites do, it's obvious and not a good environment. The same holds true when Joss was also writer on the show in that if you were his favorite, he can give you more screen time, more challenging screen time to equal "better acting" or whatever they consider for things like golden globes/emmys. If you aren't the favorite, you just get to be a punch line etc. Not all of the cast was guaranteed to stay on the show, either... so if you know so and so got killed off because they wouldn't suck up to joss/ turned down his advances whatever, it creates competition to suck up to him to keep their jobs. Whoever brings the most expensive coffee gets to live through the next episode, not the better character/actor. That's why he was so mad at James Marsters. His character became way more popular than Joss wanted, so he couldn't just kill him off or whatever.

Gal did not want a man’s face landing in her breasts. It wasn’t necessary for the storyline in any way and if they wanted something funny, they could have done it in a way that wasn’t demeaning to the only female character/ actress in the ensemble. She brought up that she didn’t like it and was then locked in a room until she agreed. That is not okay.
-
It sounds to me like this playing favorites had a significant impact on people though, not just oh I like you better... but I won’t call you fat ( he has called multiple people fat to their faces) and yell at you and slam you into walls ( he did this to James Marsters) I won’t write demeaning things for your character, I’ll give you more quality screen time etc. It pits people against each other to win his favor which makes for a toxic environment. It’s not just get more work done or be efficient at your job like at an office. One of the issues with Gal Gadot was the scene were the flash lands face first in her breasts, she didn’t want to do the scene and he locked her in a room to try and convince her to do it... her stunt double ended up the one enduring it. I’m not sure if that was her problem that she went to higher ups or if it was yet another problem with him.

I didn’t get the impression that Harry and his wife were hearing the song during the flashback, just that it was for the audience... But maybe I missed that part since her singing it was somehow important... It was strange how he responded to her singing... not sure if we are meant to get more out of that or just he was fascinated by it?

Young actresses trying to get a break into the industry had all the power??? Being attractive has perks, but it's not actual power. That's as bad as saying girls shouldn't wear tank tops in school because it distracts boys. If Joss wanted to sleep around he should have left his wife.... but also should have been man enough to say it wasn't proper for him to sleep with his employees. Even if they were throwing themselves at him, maybe hoping that it would make them his favorite so they wouldn't get treated like shit or so they could get more screen time, he was the boss who should have been able to say no. He could have them fired if he chose, he could have cut their screen time to nothing if they decided they didn't want to sleep with him. He had all of the power.

NB's statement also talks about how he took the good with the bad, so even if things weren't necessarily professional or always positive, he thought the bad stuff was worth the good... (assuming that's what he meant by "bad") which he wasn't a super well known or experienced actor when the show first started, and Joss was the guy in charge... I can see going along with whatever and thinking it's just regular how things work or ribbing the actors or whatever.... But I do wonder if the experiences on Buffy contributed to some of his addiction issues...

Or just give her a bracelet or something.... using her tattoo as an excuse for something else CC did wrong is just making excuses. If it was that big of a deal, I'm sure CC could have even covered up herself... They cover tattoos, scars, blemishes all the time...

I thought the undercover job was after his wife was dead.
-
So could he not tell his kids that he was undercover? Like did they not know that was why he was gone??? I get keeping things secret and whatever, but telling his family it was work shouldn't be a problem.... Hell, I would have told the kid in the morning that his stupid text message put me back undercover and now I have to go deal with it. That's why he's grounded.

Here is what he said : Without going into specifics, Prinze hints that the later seasons of "Buffy" may have been rough for his bride. "A lot of people owe Sarah a lot for doing that show," Prinze says, "and she doesn't always get the credit she deserves. She's a very strong woman, because she deals with a lot of nonsense, and instead of that nonsense, she should be thanked -- and she's not. That's the reason she won't be coming back." "Sarah's the most appreciative person in the world, and if that environment would have remained the way it would six years ago, she would go back, because she's loyal. But things change, and people's egos get in the way sometimes. They make poor decisions." "I don't agree with it, but I understand it, and I just pray I'm never guilty of it." Prinze asserts that, whatever happened, Gellar gave 100 percent. "And even if she's not, nobody knew, because she commits. She's badass." That doesn't sound like just the grueling hours to me... it makes sense with what Joss's ex-wife said in her essay a few years back... He started off as a humble dude who wanted to make good TV, but quickly as he found success he turned into a not so nice person-ie egos getting in the way. Cheating on his wife because he could and it made him feel powerful... I do wonder what happened to the women who said no to his advances once he got in the habit of "young women throw themselves at me" There is a report from James Marsters a few years ago where he talks about Joss throwing him up against a wall and yelling at him because Spike was more popular than he was supposed to be.... That's not a healthy working environment.

Maybe he should have written a better season 3-4 if he wanted good ratings for season 5... The conner aged up storyline and then the possessed cordy/beast storyline were trash. You can't blame that on a pregnancy.... They didn't have to write it in... considering shows have been easily working around pregnancies for what, 40 years? If he's such an amazing writer, it should have been easy. There are stunt/body doubles for reasons... Contract negotiations are one thing, but retaliatory firing is not okay, even if they waited to make it look like it wasn't because she got pregnant or got a tattoo... a tattoo that would take 4 seconds to cover up... or even could make sense in the story like Buffy's cross necklace.... Joss Whedon is a dick, it doesn't mean he needs to be arrested or in jail... but it does mean people can choose not to watch his stuff or work for him... especially if this all coming public means he no longer has the power to blacklist people for doing something he didn't like.

But a lot of people didn't keep working with him... After Buffy/Angel, CC, DB, SMG and many others didn't ever work with him again. He clearly has his favorites, which are probably the people he didn't treat like shit, or the people that wanted the job/attention enough that they put up with it so they keep working with him, but a lot of big names have never worked with him again. There is even an old interview with SMG's husband around the time the show was ending where he talked about how she wasn't going to continue the show because the environment was so unpleasant... There was also talk about how she had to announce publicly she wasn't going to do another season so they couldn't badger her into continue working. Her statement on this without saying much, says a lot. I'm sure some of the praise was also for the same reasons Ray Fisher praised him at Comic Con- it was part of the job, Ray was still on the pay roll and had to make nice in front of the crowds so he couldn't actually speak the truth. An up and coming actress wouldn't compromise her career by saying it was a horrible experience to work with Joss. And he was smart enough to not abuse the people like ASH who wouldn't fear his 'power' over the industry.
