  1. Seriously. Things Gary did that put them all at risk: Steal from a leopard, who could follow the meat smell to their boma Make them all have to smell funky meat for days Get the poop squirts all over their camp, increasing all their chances of GI issues. Not help with the tasks the team thought were most important (building a new Boma, building a shelter) in order to go get his funky funky meat that resulted in poop squirts, making them all in more danger from the local predators Im glad Lacey is gone. I also like that it was her impulsiveness that ultimately did her in. Classic. FWIW, it doesnt sound at all like anyone said anything that horrible about her. Just that they said the truth, which she couldnt handle. I really wanted to like Matt Wright, because damn, that guy is an impressive hunter/survivalist. But I don't like that he came in an poked the Gary bear. It seemed like Gary was worse once Matt showed up for 2 reasons, one that he wanted to be cheif provider, and 2 that Matt was belittling him some. Im totally on team Matt in the Matt gary fight, but I still think they are both bozos.
  2. I thought this date was fascinating. Because Becca seemed to love the beginning, but did not seem impressed at all by this explanation. IMHO, this primed her for the upset with the Jean Blanc thing. I think she didnt feel like she was getting the whole story, and I swear she was visibly uncomfortable with this. I think Garrett will still go far, but I think she became wary of him. FWIW, when you get divorced after 2 months of marriage, these are the possible explanations: You were "waiting for marriage", but found out you were wholly incompatible after getting jiggy with it Abuse You weren't living together before marriage and find out you arent compatible at all as roommates Im going with some version of all 3 based on the story about them being young, right out of college, and Garrett having a Basque last name, which could indicate a very traditional family. I also think that Garrett is playful but utterly unserious. That can be charming when you're dating, but when you're dealing with household chores and paying the rent, and he is just responding with Chris Farley quotes? That is seriously irritating. Venmo John sure is getting a good edit right now - I think they may be priming him for Bachelor. No one else is getting an interesting edit so far, so I'm curious if he is in the running.
  3. Seriously. She’s the one who was dragging on Colton, acting like she had the inside scoop but spilling no beans, what 2 weeks ago? yup. Raven wants to be important.
  4. Lol. that is nuts, though I do think she is clearly bitchy enough to be mean-girl-in-chief in a small high school. I also think she is young and socially isolated, so she doesnt seem to have matured. I looked up her bio, and she seems to be from bery rural Maine. The school nearest the island she reportedly grew up on has 466 students. so imagine ~50 girls in each grade. Prom queen and Hockey MVP make more sense now, right?
  5. Nope. they speak english (and many other languages, but primarily english) in Nigeria. Also, many Nigerian accents sound very British to someone not trained in the subtleties of East vs North London accents. A Brit would probably never say Nigerians sound english, but an American would. They sound a lot more british than other anglophone aftican countries, like Kenya or South Africa, but they do sound generally british.
  6. Im not sure that he is controlling as much as she is needy, and he likes supporting her and being her everything. Thats a dynamic that can go bad, certainly, but Arie seems to really like being needed. They are certainly lame as can be. and he is dumb as a rock, but I dont actually think they are a terrible match.
  7. He most certainly slid into her DMs. Hes probably got enough followers that she approved his follow request due to mutual benefit of geting more followers from the interaction. Then they met up for some instagram photo ops to capitalize on that opportunity. This is the world of influencers, and colton is most certainly milking that and is a clear famewhore. So there was a shot of a “Laerdal” label, and they manufacture medical training equipment like cpr dummies. so i am fairly certain this is a ruse. YMMV, but it wouldnt be the first time Fleiss faked injury drama. I dont think its Jordan. The guy on the stretcher wears goofy patterned boxers. Jordan apparently wears briefs. That said - it was someone with a similar body shape: long leaner torso, broad shoulders. That doesnt rule out many guys other than Colton.
  8. Oh man is Arie dumb. He doesnt seem to realize there is a difference between “unmiked and off camera” and “uneditted”. Of course the producers were trying to get him to go back. That was TV gold and they were doing their job. He doesnt seem to realize that going text-dark, plotting to break your Fiance’s heart with a TV crew while letting her think she was coming for a romantic weekend, and telling her that he is pucking the other girl, after texting her BEHIND HIS FIANCES back is the problem. Not that he stayed too long. She would still have been the Bachelorette if you had been a little more honest with her before you showed up. And Arie, the fact that things worked out for her doesnt make you a good guy. You plotted to break her heart in as public a way as possible. That makes you cruel. If you own it, and admit you were a bozo, people will get over it a lot faster Telling the entire viewing audience the equivalent of “Calm Down”? Not going to win anyone over.
  9. There is also this: Chris thinks Arie is dim: http://www.vulture.com/2018/05/the-bachelors-chris-harrison-insults-arie-luyendyk-jr.html
  10. I totally understand your take on her speech patterns, but I really disagree - she speaks the way I speak when I am being deliberate and carefully choosing my words. I think we are just really used to people discussing BS in chirpy tones, and this is the opposite of that. She discusses sexual assault, her dad dying, her mom dying, her husband beating her, etc. And Reality Steve is NOT a good interviewer, he is not making her feel comfortable and drawing her out. Though she certainly lays a lot out there. She seems like she is very broken though - to come on Reality Steve's podcast and lay that all out there - it's very heartbreaking. She seems like someone who by many accounts has led a charmed life, but has so much go wrong. I hope she is okay and has a support structure.
  11. It does fit with his: “recognizable name in the franchise”from “further back” than Arie. It also fits with “Im not sure I can publish my podcast” because that story might have been an exclusive and the info embargoed since they did a photoshoot for it. But Im not sure it fits with “Truth Bombs”. That said, I think it must be based on these tweets:
  12. Me too - That lipliner is not her friend. Here eyemakeup is too heavy handed, but IMHO its the lipliner that makes her look alien.
  13. Eh. Lacey is tough, but she also takes unnecessary risks. I am certain she was put with SHane for a reason. I think the producers wanted drama, and they paired them to create it.
  14. Lol - he is such a hype man. I love the way he has backtracked: "I hope I can give you this podcast" *eyeroll*
  15. Please report back - I just cant with Reality Steve. I enjoy the gossip, but not his writing style or podcast shenanigans.
  16. While I think he is exaggerating, I don't actually think he is entirely full of shit, though I don't condone his food approach. Here is why: 1) The recommendations you cite above are the CDC recommendations for prevention of food borne illness in the whole population. As in, those with compromised immune systems, included. They are heavily weighted for safety. There is wiggle room for healthy people. 2) Different climates and different food prep styles come with different measures of protection. IE, if you pressure cooked something and it stayed above boiling point for an extended period, there will be less bacteria available to then reproduce in the 'danger zone'. So the food will last longer than if you saw, served a rare steak. Also, Leaving food on the counter in swampy houston isn't the same as doing it in iceland. 3) This is gross to think about and admit, but my mom used to make a pot of soup and leave it on the stove for days. She always boiled it before serving it again. her "food safety" approach involved always boiling it for several minutes, leaving the lid on while it sat on the stove, and boiling again before serving. We, as a family of healthy people, never got food poisoning from these soups. And frankly, I dont ever remember having food poisoning as a kid, so it is theoretically possible that this lovely pot of "germ soup" trained our stomachs to be tough. When my mom went through cancer treatment, I specifically told her to cut this maneuver out. And I sure as hell don't do this. And I wouldnt recommend it. But yeah, I kinda believe there is some truth to his statement, gross as it is. I also think that if you're dealing with meat that doesn't go through a massive meat handling facility, gets cooked thoroughly, and then nuked before consumption? You might be safe. You also might just be lucky as hell. And ultimately, on Naked and Afraid XL, relying on luck as far as GI issues go seems like a poorly devised plan. BUT, the reality is if it smells ok and isnt slimy, it's probably safe to eat in this environment.
  17. That first guy is a bozo. The second guy is one of my all time favorites he survived in the Lousiana swamps and was a BADASS. His first partner got sick right away and quit - turns out she had west nile - so he lasted a total of 25 days after his second partner arrived on his day 4. He was also supportive of his partner and not disrespectful at all. im rooting for him. He is the bomb.
  18. What a creative April Fools joke. Oh wait. no its not. I think I pulled that one when I was 17. A good joke would have been him posting a pic of some sleuther’s pic of production of Becca’s season of the Bachelorette, with a “Changed my mind again - here we go” caption. But I doubt Lauren would find that as funny as I would :-)
  19. Lol. Did you read any of the comments that Ashley I and Kevin made? Whatever you may think of Ashley, she is smart and eloquent. And Kevin, well, didnt come across that way. He seems to have used the word “ignite” where he meant “extinguished” http://people.com/tv/bachelor-winter-games-ashley-iaconetti-and-kevin-wendt-explain-why-they-broke-up/ Which, well, i imagine if you are doing a relationship by phone, and one of you isnt eloquent, and the other has a Masters in Communication, coukd quickly extinguish whatever spark there was.
  20. The Chris Bukowski stuff was particularly interesting. He “kept going on to rehab his reputation”, but apperntly never bothered to... say not get completely wasted before filming even began? Smh. I find the notes that “these people are scrupulously background checked” juxtaposed to the signs of clear problem drinking among several cast members, especially since we know a few, like Bachelorette Meredith, are alcoholics, concerning
  21. Well... he also went wrong: 3) Not giving her a damn clue what was about to happen 4) firming things up with Lauren (per multiple reports) before moving on from Becca... i dont mind that he ‘switched’. I mind how he did it. He didnt have to crish her publicly to get her the sympathy needed to be the Bachelorette. (Melissa Rycroft allegedly knew, and she was americas sweetheart anyway - and Jason reportedly had no idea if Molly would take him back). I remember being mad at Jason for kissing Molly on the ATFR, not proposing to her!!!
  22. She LIVED in Dallas, where she moved to be with her ex fiance. HAD an apprently wntry level phone sales job for about 5 months - she started in February and went on the show in September? - for which she had no relevant experience. She moved colleges after a year, apparently following her folks from Washington to Virginia. Im being unnecessarily mean here - she actually has a lot on her resume- the home health aide and EMT work is impressive - im just pointing out that “independent” might be a stretch.
  23. Her parents are also deluded. Go look up her moms twitter if you want to see the twitter log of someone with a willful ignorance of reality (pamela burnham virginia beach twitter) will get you there. I think i saw some commentary about Becca and Lauren being very different people - and it stated that Lauren voted for Trump and Becca is rather (or comparatively) liberal. I think It will be interesting to see how that all plays out. Arie was raised by European immigrants, though between the car racing and the traditional male/female protector/protectee relationship he seems to espouse, i think he is possibly less liberal than i might have assumed in his non-religiousness and him being an immigrant. We will see. His past relationships: (lived with a gf before marriage, got an ex pregnant out of wedlock, history of cheating and womanizing) dont scream “traditional family values”
  24. I agree. I think they will make it to the altar. I think arie will be continue to be intrigued while she is busy and distracted from him with wedding planning, and ehile their parents are propping thibgs along. But i think they last like... months after that (maybe a little longer if she gets pregnant) Either Arie realizes there is no chase and she is super boring and withdraws from her (how would you notice?) or something goes wrong and they cant deal. Coping skills dont seem like their strong suit. There is something about her running home to mom and dad from Dallas after the failed proposal that just has me going... hmmm?
