Not caring for John David doesn't take away from the definition of who/what a Constable is. "The constable is one of the oldest forms of law enforcement, dating back to the Roman Empire, possibly earlier. As most everyone knows, our government consists of three branches, the executive, legislative, and the judicial. Each of these branches are separate and individual and each has its responsibility to the people of the county. A constable in Arkansas is, by the State Constitution, an officer of the township in the county in which he/she has been elected. Other executive officers are the State Treasurer, the Secretary of State, the County Sheriff, the County Coroner, and all State Militia officers. The constable has the broad and primary responsibility of seeing that the laws of the County, State, and Country are faithfully executed." Read More Here

John David is a Constable. He is in law enforcement. Jinger is a photographer. That's an artist.

S10.E02: Jessa Says Yes to the Dress

I totally agree. Hubby and I still do that, too. -
Baby 1, 2 and 3 out of 4 were solely and exclusively breastfed. But Baby 1 and Baby 2 are exactly one year, one month and one day apart. I was STUNNED when I found out I was pregnant. Stunned.

To be fair, the Duggars have never said TV was ungodly. They have typically stated that it can be an intrusive influence.

There's nothing earth shattering or major or even that big of a deal here. Amy says she doesn't date/court the way they do, but she can see the merits of it. To each his own.

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events

I COMPLETELY agree with you. -
You don't necessarily have to be conservative to be pro life.

That article is satirical.

Six months along looks very different on different women. I barely showed at all until a week before delivering my first son. I only gained 11 pounds throughout my entire pregnancy, but he was a healthy almost seven pounds. My younger sister, on the other hand, gained nearly sixty pounds with her first pregnancy and her son was still seven pounds - just like mine.
-
I guess part of why it's hard (for me, at least) to understand why people say Jill is so in-your-face about her pregnancy is that she (and/or her posts and articles written about her) aren't coming to us, we're going to them. If they upset you (I don't mean this poster in particular), stop looking for and at the postings and articles.

In all fairness, we don't know how Jim Bob feels about Anna's sister. That article is pure speculation without so much as a quote from the Duggar patriarch.

Actually, being a true Christian means only the you've repented of your sins and have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. -
Jill in her tank top and flannel shirt, looks like the pregnant women in her age group that I see all over the place (I live in a major metropolis).

19 Things I Hate About You: How the Duggars Infuriate
duggarshow replied to Ljohnson1987's topic in Counting On
My family is waaaaay smaller than the Duggar family (I have four children). We have a family closet in our basement, too. The washer and dryer are in there, too. It reallhy does make laundry and dressing much easier. The Duggar's are the only people I've ever known other than us who have one. -
Well said!

So did mine. I think it's fine, too, and up to each parent. :-) -

I didn't frame anything as anything. Neither do I need to justify anything. I simply expected and received instant obedience from my children when they were children. It was a safety measure for them, not a control issue for me. Also, how you feel (or apparently don't feel) about my children is entirely beside the point. I'm a little unclear on why you felt the need to add that you don't care about them. We should be able to have an intelligent discussion without attacking one another. My point is and was that instant obedience isn't necessarily a bad thing. -

I didn't use blanket training with my (now adult) children. I did fully expect - an received - instant (and I do mean instant) obedience from them, though. My reasoning? You might not see or notice the car or the other running kid or whatever danger I (as the parent) can see that you (as the child) can't. If you're running and I tell you to stop, you need to stop immediately, not when you feel like stopping. It might be too late by then. My children are four of the most intelligent, happy people you'll ever meet. They have rewarding careers and a large circle of friends. Instant obedience didn't stop them from doing or achieving anything and it didn't hurt them. It did save their lives a few times, though. -
To be fair, the family didn't crash anything. They were invited.

Michelle seemed appropriately grateful to me. If she didn't like it, she didn't like it. I LOVED it, but it's her hair. -
Racist? Really? Wow. That's quite a leap.

Those people should be ashamed of themselves. Kudos to you for being able to separate that one church from all of Christianity. It takes a strong woman to walk away from A church, instead of walking away from THE church. God bless you.

Jim Bob isn't lying. He never said he spent $200,000 on the wedding. Nor did he ever state that is cost $200,000 of TLC or anyone else's money. One of the tabloid tv shows made that claim (I think it was TMZ). At least snark fairly.
