  1. I noticed that, too! Wow, this 3 Billboards movie is really making the rounds.
  2. Looks like it. I think that's why Hemsworth offered his arm. Hell, I'd take it if I hadn't stumbled. Lol at Taika Waititi sitting at the Call Me By Your Name table.
  3. Ikr? Was Mary Elizabeth Weinstead even there? Glad if she wasn't.
  4. No, they've been broken up a while. I think she's with Norman Reedus (Daryl from The Walking Dead).
  5. Allison Brie is so cute. I was wondering if they were going to cut to Dave eventually.
  6. Well, hello Chris Hemsworth and Taika Waititi. Looking too yummy.
  7. She really does look great. Not loving the hair, but the suit is sharp.
  8. Yep, that's how it ended. Crap ending to a crap season. I was also confused because I forgot that each hour counts as 2 episodes, so there were 16 total. I thought Erica's was pretty cut and dried; she's going to jail because they have recordings of her taking the money. And this was after she vehemently denied doing so, to her own attorney as well as the opposing attorney. Erica knew she was screwed, hence her collapsing on the floor in tears. Not sure if they'll book her for the full 10 years, but she's definitely doing time. Anna went back to her old life, I guess. Bria's was more ambiguous. We saw the life she wanted to have, but it's left unresolved because she's still in the desert. I'm glad she's finally rid of her ex, but she got rid of him in the weirdest way. This season was such a mess. It was either crazy or boring, but never interesting.
  9. It was ok. Fine for some mindless viewing, but I can see it being a candidate for cancellation if it doesn't improve.
  10. I know a lot of them have passed, but not all. I was thinking of Marla Gibbs, John Amos, Mackenzie Phillips, etc.
  11. I wish they had done more with Lionel Richie's tribute. The last performance usually brings the house down, but his felt too muted. I wouldn't have chosen "All Night Long" for Leona Lewis. Maybe "Truly" or "Hello." Best ones were Carmen de Lavallade and LL Cool J's. Got choked up seeing Wade in the Water and I loved the poignant spin to "He's got the Whole World in his hands" for Carmen's tribute. I cracked up at the audience trying to move to the rap songs. But that tribute was excellent. I wish they had had that kind of energy for Lionel's tribute. Imo, Norman Lear's would have been more poignant if they'd had former cast members from his shows do the scenes, besides Rob Reiner.
  12. Same here. I'm over all the songs. Frankly, this really dragged, but it got better in the second half. I loved the rave and seeing Marshmallow! I loved that part! What a great shadow effect and really added to the vibe. Also liked the snowflake visuals and how they all looked different.
  13. I do remember Jessica hedging around the topic when she was in bed with Melendez a few weeks ago. I just think this recent discussion with her father really confirmed it for Jessica that she doesn't want kids.
  14. Man, I thought Shaun was going to throw up during that confrontation with Glassman. But this was coming. It would have been better if Glassman had made the therapy a condition of Shaun's employment. Like he has to attend at least 3 sessions to see how it goes, or he's fired. Neither of them handled that particularly well, but Shaun really broke down. Can Claire use the testimony of her patient to confirm that Coyle harassed her, and to help get Kalu reinstated? Poor girl has been in the shit for the past few weeks. And despite what happened in the end, she did handle the situation well. She clearly stated that's Coyle's actions were inappropriate and that was making her uncomfortable. Jared screwed up, but I can appreciate that he realized that he had been judgmental with Claire, and that's how scumbags like Coyle get away with shit like this. Eerie plotline given what's going on in Hollywood right now. Jessica's plot is the weak link, imo. For one thing, she has the same facial expression in every scene; mildly bored or amused. And I don't care about her father, or that she doesn't want kids. She just doesn't add anything to the show.
  15. The new IPad Pro commercial makes me feel very old. I don't mind the little girl riding around the city with her tablet, but the last line has me shaking my head. "What's a computer?" Sincerely asking: I know a lot of people use their smartphone as their PC, but are actual computers obsolete? I thought they had one (or a laptop) in nearly every classroom. It would have been different if she'd said "What computer?" versus what she actually said.
  16. Thanks for starting this thread! I didn't think boring and batshit crazy could go hand in hand, but this show proves me wrong. What kind of craziness was Anna doing with the apple? The closed captioning actually read "chomping". Guess there was no other word for it. No idea what's going on with Bria. That whole plotline was manic, and she seems to be operating on only two brain cells. I wonder if Ian is working with the ex-husband, or he's just trying to cover his ass, since he's been screwing his charge. I would have felt sorry for Kayla's boyfriend for getting caught up in that mess, had he not been total scum. Speaking of which, great parenting, Bria. Leave your 13 year old stepdaughter with a pervy 18 year old. But hey, at least she got the car! Paul has another woman in the wings? I am shocked! Shocked, I tell you!
  17. I’ve been wondering the same thing. Especially if their main goal is to keep the child with them permanently. Why aren’t they looking at adoption?
  18. Damn, that trailer was something else. I'm so ready for this.
  19. The writers did say things would get worse for Kevin. As much as I don't want to see him raked over the coals further, Kevin got seriously lucky. I can't blame the Pearsons if they call him out on that. Even if Tess hasn't been in the car, Kevin put his and other people's lives at risk. That said, I hope this was his rock bottom.
  20. I said I wasn't going to cry and wouldn't you know it, I ended up all weepy during Deja's farewell. This show, I swear. Although Randall's episodes tend to be the best (more fleshed out plots and top notch acting) I still think that Kevin's was the most illuminating of the three. Nothing really surprised me with Randall or Kate's stories. Still, seeing Randall at Howard meant a lot. Knowing how much inner turmoil the kid went through, it was nice to see him so happy, and you could tell that he felt welcome there. I was pleasantly surprised at how it went with Deja. Randall's been a self-righteous ass most of the season, but he finally started focusing on what was best for Deja. Still, the whole thing felt so black and white. Is there no probationary period when it comes to returning a foster child to their parents? I wasn't expecting Linda to approve Deja going back home so soon, but after a few weeks when she knew Shauna was truly settled in. While I didn't love the plotline, Lyric Ross did an impressive job with a difficult role. I look forward to seeing her work in the future. Also, Beth is absolutely gorgeous. It's not really relevant to this week, but it still applies. And her and Randall's relationship really is what people strive for. I was shaking my head during that last scene. If Kevin hurt Tess, there's no way he would be forgiven, even if he was unaware that Tess was in the car. Looks like there was too much emotion at Randall's house so Kevin made a quick escape. But driving under the influence (and in heavy withdrawal) is just so stupid. He got lucky with the police showing up. Tess' "I hate my house" really intrigues me. Does she just mean everyone's upset because Deja is gone, or is something else going on? That last bit with the little boy was subtle, huh? I wonder who's gonna end up fostering him? Seriously, that scene was overkill. Randall and Beth's conversation already made it clear that they were going to try fostering again.
  21. I originally thought Erica and Bria were the idiots, but I was wrong. Most of the characters are idiots. Why is Anna having a baby for a woman she just met, who apparently treats her poorly? Erica isn't much better than one of Anna's clients. And does Anna know anything about the guy who's getting her pregnant? She really is a moron. This was the first episode I felt bad for Bria, on two occasions. For one, that degrading conversation with Paul about privilege. Hearing a WOC downplay her own suffering to a wealthy White man was painful to hear. Especially when you consider their current stations in life. And her having sex with Ian. I get that Bria hasn't made his job easy. But like Paul, there's a power dynamic between Bria and Ian, and it tips on his side, not hers. I'm not liking this at all. After hearing the positive reviews of the first season, this is really disappointing. Boring plotlines, poorly written characters, and the sex is cold and clinical. For people who supposedly care about each other like Anna and Erica, it doesn't work.
  22. Yeah, I didn't like that, either. If Jessica was implying that Claire boffed up everything, she was in the wrong. Losing the specimen resulted in the lawsuit, not Claire's apology. People aren't stupid, and the patient knew what was going on. The doctors couldn't buy any more time, hence the surgery that almost was.
