  1. He borrowed the idea from the Harold Hill "Think Method" in "The Music Man." Remember the good old days when Grey's would have a cliffhanger and when they resumed main characters would die?
  2. All this, yes! I think also, for Gregory, subbing was initially just a temp gig, a stepping stone until he could become an administrator, so that kept him at a distance in addition to his natural tendency to be like that. But, sometimes in spite of himself, he's becoming a good and increasingly involved teacher and the kids adore him - and he's found his calling.
  3. I don't recall anything that would support the idea of him being homophobic. Where/when was that? I do like his character arc. It seems like little by little, he's opening himself up to things. And the dynamic between him and the kids is really sweet.
  4. That's a really good point. And his dad is like that, which may be why he's guarded with them, aside from being naturally more reserved. It will be fun to watch him open up (if that's the plan).
  5. Don't worry about it. I wasn't a Parks & Rec fan and many people were. (I actually liked the first year of P&R and then they switched it up - if I remember correctly they seemed to just throw away the first season - and redeemed Leslie Knopes and such.)
  6. Okay, I'm less alarmed. I just don't want to see her hilariousness lessened as I adore her (a lot of which is because of the actress). And as someone pointed out, it's like with the young girls, she found her peer group. Didn't the genius student say something like she's a kid and she doesn't have a job? He was spot on. With each episode, I genuinely feel like I've spent a day at school - in a good way.
  7. Oh no. They're giving Ava a heart of gold. This is my pet peeve with American comedy vs British. American comedy doesn't just let people be jerks, it has to "redeem" them. So British comedy is often funnier. But imagine if Basil Fawlty was really sweet. Wouldn't be as funny. Ava's clueless selfishness worked well in contrast with Janine's earnestness. I still like Abbot, though. And I Ioved Barbara's "I think we broke that boy" line. But this is the episode I liked least.
  8. On next season's "Darcey & Stacey" (if there is one), it would be really interesting if they had to live on what they actually earn vs. their dad's money. A wake-up call of sorts. There's much less time and energy for manufactured drama when you've been working all day.
  9. Awww. I'll let you know when I open my non-practice!!! :)
  10. Aspen and Aniko are as stable as they are probably from having a stable life with Mike. Not just financially - at this point he seems pretty emotionally stable, which Darcey isn't. Darcey and Stacey seem to have never learned to endure feelings of unhappiness (which we all have - it's part of life). Rather than just get through those feelings, they do something to their outsides. They think their lives have to be larger-than-life - and how many people actually get that? That's my amateur I'm-not-a-therapist take.
  11. I think you've hit the nail on the head.
  12. Seriously, we have to listen to that and get short-changed on Mike ragging-on-them time?
  13. There's going to be another season?????????????????????????
  14. These grown, 46-year-old women are increasingly ridiculous - or it's just becoming increasingly harder to ignore. Do they care about anything in the world besides how they look? And regarding that, I really do think they look 10 to 20 years older than they would have without all the surgery.
  15. I noticed that with the way she kept saying, "Oh, gosh" at the start of sentences. But she speaks both languages so well, it's hard to tell which is her native language.
  16. Watching Pillow Talk and I realized I had missed the part where Jimena said she asked a loan shark for money. Holy shit. She keeps endangering her kids. MIKE, RUN.
  17. I actually liked Kimbaaly tonight once they got past her sex ultimatum. Her son is very level-headed (and handsome!), which makes me think she's been a good mom. Then I thought it was really adorable that she got so girlishly excited about the impending sex. (I also really liked her white dress.)
  18. Wow, I was empathetic toward Jimena at the start of the season, but now I think her real self is being revealed and it ain't so pretty. She's really emotionally checked out. She basically sees Mike as her Amazon shopping cart. The whole brazenness of "First boobs, then wedding," blew me away. I hope Mike isn't dumb enough to take her up on this. Mahogany kind of reminds me of Pam in "The Office."
  19. I hadn't even thought of this!! Which may go to show how men sometimes aren't looked at with the same protective eye where this is concerned. I'm kind of annoyed at myself for not being aware enough. Good point.
  20. I love Gregory's journey of falling in love with the kids and with teaching. I'm so glad they are doing it so that the Gregory-Janine storyline it seems they're aiming for kind of takes a back seat to Gregory's journey. I wouldn't be surprised if this show makes many people want to teach. It has that effect on me.
  21. Can you watch it On Demand?
  22. I love that they're giving shout-outs to local businesses! Now I feel sad for Tarique. He's totally unaware of her dissatisfaction and that others are encouraging her to split with him. He was so much fun entertaining the kids. He could actually do that for work - there are people who make their livings entertaining children. He could get some money from arts councils and do fun classes and such in addition to shows, and record songs for kids, as well. I loved it when Gregory's kids took their cue from Gregory that it was okay to dance. It's like when they all drew pictures of him. I love how much he means to the kids.
  23. They're not on the Designers page at all. Verrrrrry interrrrrresting... https://miamiswimweek.com/designers/
  24. This. She's a grown woman, she needs to navigate her own relationships and life. What is it she brings to these relationships? Although I guess they wouldn't show that since it's the D&S show.
  25. Do they even design them? I thought maybe those two other women were the actual designers but I missed their introduction. I'm so enjoying Georgi's snarkiness. He and Florian should be on Pillow Talk together (minus D&S).
