S16.E38: Live Eviction #14 / HoH Comp #15
shelley1234 replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Past Seasons
Derrick has some serious Jedi mind trick powers. Almost everyone is basically loyal without question to him. I never saw Caleb as loyal and close to Derrick as he conveyed in his final interview with Julie. I thought he'd stay loyal to Frankie (which let's be real would have been better for his game), but in the end he was all about Derrick. I do wish though since Derrick was openly throwing the competition to the audience and the house guests couldn't see each other....that he just sat down in a corner and didn't play. That at least would have amused me. -

I am absolutely IN LOVE with Caleb and Cody telling Frankie off and reminding him that he isn't Jesus in this game. Of course Derrick played both sides and no one even noticed. Derrick hearing the HOLLAS from his wife and daughter was super duper sweet. Caleb doing a fake Judy chop to Derrick was HILARIOUS. Derrick once again played each person perfectly to get what he wanted and not at all make himself look like the target he is in the game. Silly silly rabbits. Derrick and Victoria making the whole "we are mad at each other" thing was a genius move in the making for Derrick because it allows him to not be loyal to her and have her have no idea. Caleb's dad calling him a 99% liar amused me. I also had to laugh at Victoria basically rolling her eyes at Caleb when he was telling her how in control he was in the house. Victoria knows better. She more than anyone knows who is running the house. How much did Caleb think he was running the house after he was evicted? *snickers* Sorry dude, it's always been Derrick. That Veto competition with them being fake detectives is just punking Derrick hardcore. I wanna see how Derrick explains his Final 2 deal to Victoria. I am sure he will tell her that they still have their secret alliance and that Cody is in the dark, but you could see the wheels turning for her as Cody was talking. Of course, the only way this could bite Derrick is if Victoria actually won something and well...you know. -
Rosie tweeted a link to it today. Neither one seemed to take offense to what the other had to say. http://www.wendyshow.com/2014/09/17/sherri-shepherd-speaks/#.VBnu2kvfncY

Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out

Frankie's interview with Jeff for me was interesting. One, it is the most likable I have found Frankie in a long time. Two, I think that much like the other house guests, they seem to realize how much of a hand that Derrick played in everything once they are evicted, but not beforehand. I swear, Derrick has some Jedi mind trick powers. And three, that Frankie said he planned on taking Derrick not Frankie to the final 2. http://www.cbs.com/shows/big_brother/video/kU9fgZ5k7hnY7XastyY3yV0W1WVC6PLw/big-brother-live-chat-frankie-grande/ -
We disagree on what is horrible, so mileage may vary. The description seemingly with glee of how the Zingbot should rape another house guest is absolutely disgusting to me. I absolutely understood why Victoria's family watching at home was so upset.

It's clear that Whoopi does not like people disagreeing with her opinion. The idea of shaming a 4 year old is such a poor parenting move. I have to wonder if the other ladies of The View knew Whoopi was bringing this up as a topic and what her opinion was. I think Whoopi seemed generally shocked that everyone didn't agree with her side of it. IMO, if Nicolle and Rosie both agree on an issue....it's probably a pretty universal opinion. I'd love to see what each of their contracts say and how they may differ from one another.
-
Holy Bejesus....well that's just horrific.

Nah, it's a game show. I would be annoyed cause he is a suck of a human being, but I wouldn't be losing any sleep about it. I think the perception of Frankie to those who don't watch the live feeds or BBAD are probably pretty different. I don't watch the live feeds, but I've heard the snippets of quote he has said and seen clips out there on the internets. He absolutely disgusts me.
-
IMO, no need to bring it back up. I think it showed a level of pot stirring that I hoped that Rosie was beyond. I love Rosie and am so glad she's back on The View, however I do think she is like a moth to a flame when it comes to drama. What Sherri said was stupid, stupid, stupid and no one is questioning that, but what Rosie said in my opinion was mean. Elisabeth deserves what she gets in my opinion since she is often willing to take a pot shot at Rosie as well, but I thought it was just callous to make specific reference to a comment that highlighted a lack of education on Sherri's part. Sure, it was a fact, but she didn't have to bring it up to highlight that the new show was gonna be different, be smarter. Only my opinion. I've stated it and I am taking the sage advice of our moderators and moving along.

Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out
shelley1234 replied to Stinger97's topic in Past Seasons
The conversation between Derrick and Victoria is heart breaking. I remember being that age though and being so self conscious about every little thing and especially being on tv where you know every little bit is going to be scrutinized. Poor girl. I like that Derrick can be a positive male role model for her and let her know that someone will love her for her someday. It's sweet and very "big brother" of him. I think along these lines as well. I think Derrick's cred will go up after being on the show. He also isn't still actively working the beat as a cop and is basically in management. I think he'll go back to work and wait to collect that kick arse pension that cops get. He'll enjoy the "fame" he gets from Big Brother and probably winning it, but I don't think it'll change his life all that much. -
I read the article and it just doesn't seem smart to me and I always assumed Rosie was nothing but smart. Rosie didn't need to take pot shots at the old hosts to say the new show is different. It's also interesting and it's been a common thread with Rosie how she referenced the personal events in her life (i.e. her divorce) and how it affected her on the show. She said the same thing about her own show back in the day and how Columbine just sent her off the rails and that is how it happened that her gun control rant with Tom Selleck ended up happening. We all like to say we can separate our personal from our professional and no one does it 100% effectively, but Rosie seems to be incredibly poor at leaving home at home. She is someone who just seems to feel and experience things deeply and then reacts accordingly. While that probably makes her a better performer or actress, I don't think it's a benefit here. She seems unable to not lash out when things are going on in her personal, private life. Just an observation.

Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out

True, which is why if he was able to...I think Derrick would try to convince Cody to keep Caleb and sent Victoria packing. I don't see him being able to do it, but you never know. I think it actually works in Derrick's game to send Victoria this time around, but I think Cody will get Caleb out now, who he considers his biggest threat. -
He has said and done really horrible things in the house. He also seems super famewhorey and just a walking caricature. There is a video out there that puts together all of the crap Frankie has done (I found it on twitter), but I won't post it here since most comes from the feeds and not the live show.

Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out

I think Derrick takes Cody too. I think Victoria knows that too and seems fine with it. Derrick true final 2 deal in the house is with Cody and he will bring him along. Derrick just needs to know that Cody will do the same, which I think he will. Victoria works the jury votes for him from the house. -
Hmm this has me thinking.... Maybe Derrick is finally gonna be willing to send his girl Victoria to the jury. If she goes there then she can make sure she works the votes for him there and then Derrick would go back to being the house guest that both Cody or Caleb would pick as the Final 2. Caleb and Cody would be too threatened by each other which is ironically hilarious.

Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out

Frankie tried to save himself by trying to sell to Derrick and Cody that he was angry at Caleb for trying to get him, so he would be his target. Then in his POV speech he said Derrick should go up cause it's not fair he didn't. Cody didn't use it and Frankie realized that it's over. Frankie's eviction speech was 1000% about Frankie talking about all his fans and how much he loves Ariana. He got voted out 2-0 and gave everyone a speech on the way out. He told Victoria to try to win something finally. He said to Cody that "he's had better" and he said to Derrick that as the last remaining adult to not kill his fish. (I forgot what he said to Caleb....who remembers). He said he loved them all and left....skipping like a school girl. He came out to Julie and threw glitter all over himself as only Frankie could. He got mostly cheers. Disappoint. And then he said that he knew he was a HUGE target and didn't blame them. He did say that he thought he was close to Cody and felt he would learn his true colors when he watched the season. He said he respected Derrick's game and knew once he wanted Donny out that he would come for him sooner or later. He hugged and held Julie's hand while he heard his final goodbyes...which were a bunch of sickly sweet "we had to get rid of you cause you are a big bad target." That's the cliff notes. Good riddance buddy. -
I have been waiting for weeks and weeks to see Frankie sent packing and it FINALLY HAPPENED! I loved Cody's swagger step to tell Derrick he won the Veto. It was adorable. Frankie tried to save himself, but he knew the fix was in. If things went according to Shelley, I would have loved Cody to use the Veto, but use it on Victoria just to let Frankie know FOR SURE that he was going home. Frankie's speech was 1000% about Frankie. He's such an egomaniac. Boo. I was disappointed that Frankie got mostly cheers, not because I'm evil and want to see him boo'ed...which is partly true, but because it highlights how bizarre Christine's boos were. Frankie has said and done worse IMO. Frankie did put on a good face when leaving the house and didn't show any bitterness. He seems to be like the rest of the jury and has decided that Derrick is a shoe in to win the game. Derrick for HoH! YAY!!!! Go get it son! Unless he wins POV, Caleb's time in the BB house is ticking.

While I think Victoria is a grown up and all...it kind of is the picture representation of Derrick's control of Victoria in the game. And the 2nd pic where she's touching him. Basically cause I am of the opinion that she knows he's married and knows nothing will ever happen, but she's still pretty much head over heels little girl in love with him...it's rubs me the wrong way. Duck lips are never okay. Nope. Never. Gross. -

Did you all check out the photo booth pics? Frankie continues to annoy me with his stupid heart symbols and his duck face. This one of Derrick and Victoria gave me the creeps though...and you all know that Derrick doesn't give me the creeps on the usual: http://www.cbs.com/shows/big_brother/photos/1002362/photoboothing-with-the-final-five/62502/secret-alliance/ Also here is an interesting tweet from Evil Dick: @EvelDick So you all are splitting your votes between Donny & Zach... exactly how that douche Frankie is gonna win. Fitting for this season #BB16 -

Is it Big Brother time yet? No? How about now? No. Now? Now? -
I don't question that Whoopi is hands down more talented than anyone else on that stage. She can blow them all out of the water. It's my opinion that Rosie is more famous and in the reality tv culture we live in...that has little to do with talent (even though I believe Rosie is talented). Ever since Rosie had her tv show...her name recognition and fanbase went off the chart. It doesn't surprise me at all that people are chanting her name as the show begins. Of course, some are excited to have her back and some are just awaiting how long it'll be before she loses it again. ;)

S19.E01: Week 1: Performance & Judging
shelley1234 replied to radishcake's topic in Dancing With The Stars
Alfonso is 43, so he's not far off. And it's not like he was in fit dancing shape as this contest started. Sure, he has a short hand and will be able to pick up the dances and moves better than most. I felt the same with figure skaters or even when Mario or Joey Fatone were on the show. They had a leg up, but it wasn't like they were professional dancers. Alfonso's biggest problem is that in the same way that I don't know who these little reality stars or youtubers are....their fanbase doesn't know who Carlton is. He can be a great dancer and get great scores, but it is fan support that keeps you in the game IMHO. -

It'll be a breath of fresh air once it is official that Frankie is out of the house. I'm interested to see if he sees it coming and how he leaves the house. Does he make nice with the current house guests? Does he throw a tantrum? Does he walk out like Christine and say nothing? I think that Frankie is uber conscious of the viewing audience, so I don't think he'll wanna whine and bitch too much. (Unfortunately or hilariously Frankie didn't seem conscious enough of the feedsters since all that horribleness is gonna follow him for a while.) -

Loyalty in Big Brother is interesting. Of course only one person can win, but loyalty can come into play more in this show than some others. One, loyalty can keep you safe in the game, as long as you are loyal to the right people (aka people that are loyal back to you). Secondly, with having to get votes from people you sent packing, loyalty kind of plays there as well. If you stab someone in the back in the game they can stab you in the back in the jury. If I was ever on Big Brother, I would not do well. I am opinionated and I have a hard time not telling people exactly what thoughts are going through my noggin. I also am someone who is incredibly loyal to people, so I'd get burned in no time. There are few people with the loyalty of Victoria who get rewarded and actually get to stick around. til what??? BA HA HA HA HA!
