  1. Hmm, interesting. My take on Kail is vastly different than yours. I disagree that she is a nasty and vile person. She has made her fair share of mistakes, but I often see the best intentions with her. Oh wells.
  2. Yeah, Suzy was there for Kail...when she agreed to watch her child and then got drunk. Super duper there for her. I am personally happy that Kail has distanced herself from her mother since she's a toxic and selfish human being. Kail was slowly becoming more like her and have seen her become less like her as she is no longer around her mother. And someone who is a social worker who works with families who have been homeless and are in poverty, she met the criteria for that program at the time because she didn't have a consistent and safe place to live. She didn't have the MTV money at the time and she followed the rules to qualify. She didn't steal a spot from someone else. She would never qualify today, but she did then and didn't manipulate anyone into getting that assistance. It was also very clear the program knew she was on MTV since they met with her on camera, so they would most likely lose funding if they went along with Kail trying to manipulate them, etc. As others said upthread why they don't understand why Jo often gets a pass, I never tend to understand why Kail doesn't get the credit for things she does right...and IMO there are a lot of them.
  3. Yes. Oh god. Sorry Coral....one, that my brain mixed you up with Tami and for posting that wrong. egads.
  4. Even though Dean didn't want to wear the drag outfit because he was afraid of comments back home....I was happy and surprised that no one refused to do it because "it's so gay" or made fun of it all the time. That was a refreshing change. And yes, I guess I am a prude because I don't think it's okay to fuck someone in a room when your "i barely know you" roommate is there. And when she calls you out for it the next day...you don't get to yell at her and make her the problem. Own that you did it. Speaking of Kailah, I felt bad for her in the after show when they showed the clip of her worrying she was pregnant and then taking the test while her roommates laughed and mocked her. Nice guys, nice. It also reminded me how much Real World has changed and it just now about drama and the suck of human beings. Back in the day...Coral became pregnant and shockingly had an abortion while on the show. That was when the show was actually about putting strangers together and documenting their struggle and experiences.
  5. I remember some of the TM girls saying they created trusts of their own for the kiddos...because they felt it was the right thing to do. I think it might have been a radio show that Kail and Amber were doing. They said that not all the moms did that, but they both felt strongly about it.
  6. Yeah, those schools don't care a lick...as long as you pay.
  7. Even though I already knew Corey got custody...I was still overjoyed watching it happen. Those girls deserve a real home and Leah just can't provide that right now. And yep, it was clear how high she was when she called her sister to pick up the girls. She can't do the basic things like put food and drinks in the fridge and picking up her kids. Those girls belong with Corey. Jenelle doesn't know anything about actually being a parent. Anyone who have even spent a second around a baby knows that Kaiser wasn't tired. He looked sick, but a kid who you try to put down and they just stand there and scream...nope, not tired. Jenelle wants the status of being a parent, but wants none of the actual work of parenting. Chelsea continues to be adorable. I do wonder though what Adam would need to do in order to be able to have Aubree more in his life. Do I think he has completely changed his ways? No, however I think he has done what the courts and Chelsea has asked of him. He got his license back, which means he can continued to not drink, not get DWIs and not get caught driving without a license. I do think Chelsea should take him back for child support since if you make them...you should support them, but I also think that Adam should get more time if he wants it. Do I think he really wants it? No, but he did what was asked of him. I am happy Aubree has Cole though since he seems interested in doing the dad things. I don't wanna discuss Adam's little nekkid pic. Nope. It's unpopular around these parts, but I still like Kail. I think she's done a great job with Isaac and it shows. As for the after show...Leah does look better. She looks an old school 60s receptionist, but she looks healthier. I do hope that she maybe turned a corner and maybe losing her children actually got her to seek help. Or...she could pull herself together for a day, but usually with addicts, even when they are trying...you can tell.
  8. I saw the follow up post as well. I didn't think the Dr. was saying they should get the wheelchair repaired with a Make A Wish. I think it was just a stream of consciousness telling Corey and Leah that they should think about starting things like that while Ali can still enjoy them, etc. Leah is such a suck of a human being. She should not be responsible for any of her children. As a mandated reporter, I wanted to pick up the phone and make a call watching her episode. Having nothing for lunch for the girls, feeding them nothing for breakast, texting while driving, the kids being cold and then Addie eating sugar at the table. Hearing Grace call her out for her lack of actual parenting was almost satisfying if it wasn't so sad and pathetic. I literally loathe Javi. While Kail gets on my nerves, nothing like Javi. I think he's pretty emotionally abusive to Kail. I knew he was going to tantrum when she called to tell him she was going to eat with the gang. I knew he was going to order her to come back home and I have Kail credit for hanging up and doing what she planned to do. I am surprised they are both still married and still think that marriage is a ticking time bomb when Javi gets back from deployment. Chelsea and her family are absolutely adorable. It seems so weird to say, but I feel proud of her. She has accomplished so much for herself and her daughter. Of all the teen moms....I think she's the only one I would consider a grown up. Ironic given her constant baby talk, eh? Jenelle is just a trainwreck. Nothing new there. She doesn't seem to understand that just because someone comes to your house and pisses you off...that it doesn't make it justifiable to assault them. I also find it laughable that she thinks she is going to be able to get a job as a medical tech. A quick google search or anyone who owns a tv is never gonna hire her....this charge or the bajillion that came before. Sheesh. I also think it's rich that she keeps saying how much she wants Jace back, but she shows time and time again that she can't handle the actual parenting. If Barb didn't love Jace to pieces,.....she should give Jenelle what she wants and give him back to her and count the minutes that it lasts before Jenelle sends him back.
  9. Well it seems like the format of the show this season is just to see who might be good and who might be a hot mess at the challenge. Jenna the ignorant racist. Boo. It's the cliche casting move and of course they also cast one or two people of color that the racist "I was raised this way and I don't know any better" girl gets to spew her racism all over them and often they have to just sit there and take it. But sure, it's entertainment...who cares if it is purposeful and vile. Shame on you MTV.
  10. Unfortunately a diagnosis for mental health is almost always made after the first visit because it has to have a diagnosis code to bill insurance. It's one of the things I hated when I was doing clinical care and all my work had to be billable time. While there was usually something that could be diagnosed at the end of the first session, I hated that I had to put that level of judgment on someone after meeting with them for at most an hour. As for Catelynn being in treatment, good for her. I think that she needs time away from everything in order to truly understand where her issues come from. When she says things like "I don't know why I have anxiety" "My childhood was okay", etc...it's clear just how much she is in denial about the trauma in her past and how it has shaped the decisions she has made and continues to make. I also never get too judgmental about any of the TM girls (or guys) not going out and getting jobs. They have a job that pays them a crap load of money. Teen Mom is a full time job. It is disappointing that Catelynn and I guess Tyler (but honestly...I don't give a flip about him) couldn't have used this time to focus on their future and their education, but there is no need nor probably a want to go out and get the kind of jobs they would qualify for. If I am being 100% honest...and I am pretty well educated and have a pretty decent job....if someone decided to pay me $250K to follow me around and film me, I'd probably consider ditching my job or at least I would consider doing it part time, etc. Edited because too to and two are not the same things. ;)
  11. I wish we wouldn't see her again either since she is a suck of a human being. However, MTV knows where their bread is buttered. It is drama like Farrah that keeps people coming back to watch it all burn down. Gawd, how boring would the show be if it was all people like Maci who basically have to create drama because it isn't a big ol' hot mess all the time. I would love to see them drop Farrah and mean it...because until that happens and until people stop crawling back, she's gonna continue to think she is something hot and special. Tyler. You are a jerk. You are sick and tired of your wife and her depression? Boo. Amber is such a fool. I do wonder how much it'll take for her to realize this. Sadly, I think she won't wise up until she ends up preggos and Matt has another baby with another woman.
  12. It also unfortunately seems to be a pattern with Jenna. When she was on this season they mentioned part of the tension between her and Brianna is the past is that Brianna hooked up some either one or some of her boyfriend(s). Jenna is a funny, pretty girl who is a lot smarter than she pretends to be for tv. I hope that she finds a way to break this pattern because she deserves someone worthy of her.
  13. Interesting, I have the opposite take. BB has all those live moments and the ability for fans to watch 24/7...so a soft edit or a likable edit is much less possible than with a show like Survivor. I also think it is early....and I remember Caleb being likable during the beginning parts of BB and then showing his more true colors as time went on. As for the bolded, haters gonna hate.
  14. I'm spoiler tagging it since some people might not want to know what the theme is for the next season....or who the contestants are...and what have you.
  15. Something I never thought I would see....Abram agreeing with Johnny. He couldn't nod his head enough as Johnny was going on about how Cara was using Abe to get farther in the competition and so she had no interest in being honest with him. It was also just so awkward to watch Cara Maria's reaction to Johnny calling her out. Her aggressively trash talking that she did win and that she sent Bananas home...while Abe just sitting there. It just felt cruel. Now, I don't actually agree with what Johnny said...or at least I don't think it was the prime motivator. I think Cara knows how Abe can react to things, so she really didn't want to deal with him going crazy while they are all trapped together on a show. I think she hoped to be able to get home and then deal with him then. That was my take on it. Also, god...their relationship is so messed up. Those two just need to leave each other alone and move on. I love that Johnny is willing to use Nany when it helps him and his alliance, but when it doesn't...he has a million excuses, including his girlfriend not liking her, to cast her aside. But then again, that is how Johnny operates. If people don't know this already when they choose to work with Bananas...that is your stupidity.
  16. I was pretty meh about the finale. I agree that it would have been more dramatic to have the teams head off very Amazing Race style...so you could actually see how behind or ahead you are as you continue to compete. There was no tension for me in the final challenge as Cara and Cuz were working frantically on their puzzle because I had no idea where they were in the competition. I pretty assumed they would win though because I think at that point the other two teams both had their little "memories of the challenge" clips. Jenna and Brianna sure petered out fast, eh? They went from first to worst in about 2 hot seconds. It's too bad because I liked the idea of them setting the pace since I don't think the other two teams considered them to be much in terms of competition. I was glad that Cara and Cuz won. This has been a long time coming for Cara and she really pushed through. I also like Jamie a lot. He seems like good people.
  17. Not a surprising reaction on first read....but give it time. The more you are exposed to Caleb.,..the more unattractive he gets. Beast Mode Cowboy gets on one's nerve real damn quick.
  18. I bet he is on the lease and he wanted to be asap. You don't have to wait for lease up time to add another household member to the lease as long as both parties agree. If he was on the lease then it would give him rights as a tenant. Amber wouldn't be able to just throw him out on a whim. He also wouldn't necessarily be on the hook for the rent either since both would be jointly and severally liable and Amber is probably the better litigant to prosecute.
  19. I personally couldn't give a flip whether Maci actually got her degree or not. She has a full time job and one that probably at least pays decently. In comparison she is light years above and beyond her counterparts.
  20. On Maci's LinkedIn page it lists her position for Check Into Cash as Social Media Specialist. Of course it is not absolute confirmation however it lists that she got her Associates in 2014 as well on her LinkedIn page. As for Taylor...I have no idea what he does for work, but they both had to work on Bentley's first day of school, so it does seem like he does go somewhere to a place that gives him a paycheck. He used to be a motorcross racer, but had to hang up his bike when he got injured.
  21. What does smoking pot have to do with chewing on one's nails???
  22. While Maci's job at Check Into Cash isn't real glamorous, it's a full time job and one that allows her the flexibility to still be able to do the job that is being on Teen Mom, so I am not gonna knock it. I think Taylor also works a job as well, but I don't know what he does. I can't stand Ryan. You don't have to like Maci to be a parent and he just is too non-plussed to do it. That's a shitty thing to do to Bentley and that makes Ryan a shitty dad and an asshole. If I was his parents, I'd kick his ass out of the house and let him fend for himself for a while and maybe he'd learn some responsibility or maybe even a wee bit of humility. Amber is also an asshole IMO. She knows exactly what she is doing constantly mentioning wanting to take Leah to Florida in front of Leah when she didn't talk to Gary yet. And if you ask Gary last minute if you can take your daughter away for Christmas...you deserve for the answer to be no. I have always felt that the "therapy sessions with Tyler and Co." are incredibly scripted. I think it helps the storyline of whatever is going on with Cate and Tyler and the gang, but it just never comes off as genuine to me. Also, maybe it is just what I want to think because therapy sessions should not be taped and put on tv...because...ethics. Farrah. She's made of suck. Sophia is also even extra creepy....with the having Simon marry you, but with Daddy Derek's face. What the what????
  23. As someone who has spent my whole career working with people with a variety of mental illnesses and histories of trauma and abuse, I have never questioned the depression and anxiety that Catelynn has reported experiencing. I've unfortunately seen people fake mental illness for whatever gain and that just isn't what it looks like, in my experience. I also think it is unfortunate when people sit in judgment over whether people are "really" depressed or if they are depressed enough, etc. It's hard enough without the dime story psychology.
  24. I was impressed with Jenna and Brianna in this challenge.....they just kept trooping through and little to no complaining. The finals always pushes you in every way possible and those two just took every challenge and went after it. As for Cara and Cuz...they would waver back and forth between who was whining. I did feel for Cara in the beer challenge. She tried to puke and wasn't able to make herself. I have drank a lot of water and felt very full before...and it gets painful. I guess in addition to running miles and miles to prepare, she shoulda practiced puking on command. And even though I agree with Jamie that Cara sometimes gives up on herself...she still kept going. I have seen a lot of people in a finals just give up. She didn't do that. Sure, she felt super frustrated and was a whining little brat...but she kept doing it, she kept going. I personally love that Cory and Mitch are in last place. I think they thought that because they were a guy guy duo that this was going to be easy for them. Yeah, not so much. I still think this is anyone's game....and from the previews, I imagine the gross food aspect will kind of level the playing field.
  25. I agree with this here. I think Catelynn's anxiety and depression is very real. I also think that the tv show, while it has brought her a lot of financial security and opportunity, it is also a factor that drives her anxiety. She clearly has self esteem and body image issues and having to live her life on tv knowing she is constantly being looked at and judged only compounds the problem. I think she'd still have issues given how she grew up, what she has gone through and who she married, but it is made a bajillion times worse that she goes through it with the preying eyes of a television audience. I also see that as directly related to her weight. Sure, it seems like she is just lazy and not willing to put the pizza down and go for a walk. However, one of her coping mechanisms IMO for dealing with all the issues and stress in her life is to self comfort with food. A good therapist would look at her anxiety, depression, weight and eating behaviors and connect the dots. I was going to respond to this, but then I saw the response below and it says it perfectly. Also, self disclosure, I am also a social worker. I got my MSW with a focus on clinical and worked for many years in a clinical setting. I am now working outside of my clinical role, but I wouldn't say that my education and training was not appropriate for the type of work/therapy that was seen with Catelynn. Now, as a clinician I would never have a videotaped session for tv, but that is my boundary and belief about how effective therapy can be with the world watching, but that's a different topic for a different day. I will agree though that Catelynn could use a counselor who is more interested in working on practical ways of addressing and handling her anxiety than what I have seen with her current counselor, but I don't think that has anything to do with her being a social worker. Preach.
