  1. But will it be Jaime, or will it be Arya, with Jaime's face?
  2. I'm looking forward to their reunion, also the Hound + Sansa's reunion. Not necessarily a SanSan shipper, but I can accept there's something going on under the hood.
  3. Where's the law that says she had to apply for the job? ;0
  4. Even with all the Frey scalps under her belt, Arya has still probably been responsible for less deaths - directly or indirectly - than any male military character on the show. Jamie has probably killed more with his own sword, he has definitely ordered more kills than Arya completed. Rob is responsible for at least 2,000 deaths among Stark soldiers, as a sacrifice. Ned swung the axe himself a few times. Most of these impersonal, in times of war. But Arya is out of her mind? No, I really don't see it that way. FWIW, Dany is spoken of in similar fashion. It's incredibly sexist.
  5. You've pretty much answered your own question, right there. Arya was cheered because she applied a revenge that was based on justice, with the added bonus of reducing Cersei's allies. Sansa was jeered because the revenge she wanted to apply was unjust and it could have come back to bite them in the ass, with the added bonus of successfully undermining her King, if he'd had been swayed. As it is, she demonstrated a division to be exploited.
  6. Margaery would have walked out of there alive, if not for the Sparrows. The point was, Marg had an excellent handle on how to be diplomatic with pretty much everyone (BUT Cersei).
  7. Realistically, Jon is King in the North and isn't supposed to need to defend his decisions against Sansa's public disagreement. Period. Sansa is lucky Jon is Jon, and that he didn't come at her like O-Ren Ishii and chop that smack-talk down for good. But. Wasn't it interesting how Sansa said she learned from Cersei? Stop a minute and recall what Robert did when Cersei got in his shit in front of Ned? She'd have done a lot better to learn from Margaery. Not only that, but it also was paralleled in this very show's opening scene, when Arya made sure the Frey women didn't drink. I didn't care for the scene with the Lannister soldiers because it was sooooo heavy-handed - since when has any Lannister soldier not been a sadistic asshole? But I reckon they were lightened up so that Arya could have her Ah-hah!! moment and learn to forgive them for fighting for Cersei. Funny contrast - she dressed like a boy for season 2, and was nearly tortured by Lannisters who would have raped her without blinking, if they knew what was under her knickers. But as a young woman, they were non-threatening? Ooookay. Loved the dragons returning to Dragonstone, beau visage. Wish Jorah and Sam could have had enough conversation to give that story more of a jump start than a spark. With only seven episodes, you'd think they'd have at least gotten some things in serious motion and not used everything but Frey Toast for setting up ...
  8. As long as he can pay them the gold they want, they won't give a shit.
  9. If he gets to the throne, he'll have two armies: Lannister army and the King's guard.
  10. HBO finally has show description on the data guide. FWIW. Episode 1 only
  11. Hmmm ... http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2017/05/game-of-thrones-season-7-cersei-jamie-valonqar-death-fingers-neck
  12. Agreed, and perhaps this is GRRM's Winterfell knot that's partly keeping the last two books from being finished.
  13. Show Arya was 11 in season 1. Book Arya was 9. Most sources put her at about 17 for season 7. She's ready for more mature storylines now, even though some members of the audience may be uncomfortable with it.
  14. To quote (or paraphrase) Paul Westerberg, 'when a photographer wants you to come outside so he can take a photo of you by this tree, it's not about you, it's about the tree.' These are great photos, but they have nothing to do with Game of Thrones and the characters. They're about the very talented photographer.
  15. What I expected in the books was for LF to marry off Sansa to SW or some other titled Lord, and then marry himself into another property, eventually marry Sansa after a couple of suspicious deaths, then she would kill him and have all the titles and lands, herself. The show has so far given her the title of Lady Bolton, although the significance has yet to be explored, ie, are the Bolton lands producing enough to pay for an army? I have been expecting show Sansa would also wind up with the Vale, one way or another. As for Arya, I just don't see her as a 'globe-trotting assassin' when all is said and done — everything she has been doing was with the aim of rejoining her wolfpack.
  16. Weren't there spoilers claiming Bran spends most of the season in his own head, more or less?
  17. Putting this here: (OhOkayWhat) I'm kind of sort of leaning this way. The current linear trajectory, based on the Maggie prophecy, the best guess might be to say that somehow, Jamie gets killed, and Arya takes his face to Cersei's door. Feels like great revenge. But then you start to think about things like character arc and journey, and the Mercy diversion. What was that all about, if not to give Arya something to stew over?
  18. 99% chance she'll clear Tyrion. 75% Sansa. ... but the Petyr connection is tricksy.
  19. Re: Cersei/Sansa: While D and D have an awful track record of people sharing pertinent information, one might think that Jamie would share with Cersei, what he learns from Olenna, about Joffrey's death. ie, who is, and who was not, responsible for it. At some point, Cersei should stop giving a rat's ass about Sansa, unless she interprets her (Sansa's) being with Petr as a sign of complicity, on that end. Meh. Getting tired of specs. Bring on the show!
  20. I think Celeste knew it in her heart, the minute she heard it, because of Perry. NK was soooo good in this. I've always liked her as an actress and am happy that her work in BLL may finally shut up many of her critics. Really I thought everyone did well. Amazing ensemble cast. Agreed. I think it was done as brilliant subtext, but not necessarily brilliant, bullet-proof plot. A few weeks ago in a different thread, I mentioned that Bonnie was positioning / being positioned as an alpha, in the way she was taking initiative to deal with the Maddie situation. Her snap reaction to Perry's moves against the other women, was to go on the offense without even thinking about it. Protecting the alpha is documented behavior. Just like Celeste protected her family alpha (Perry), here (Perry's death) is an example of the tribe coming together to protect an alpha female. And I have no trouble believing a boxercise instructor would also have taken enough self-defense courses to knock Perry off his feet. One of the show's big themes is forgiveness, so no, I'm not surprised. Renata showed herself to be forgiving towards Jane, previously, and there was that part of the bigger group's discussion, before Perry approached them.
  21. Nothing brings people together like manslaughter. Even Renata has friends, now! Nathan did rule the talent show, but true art does not compete
  22. I disliked Bonnie at first for reasons already went into: Maddie is the POV character, we meet her first, we identify with her first, and right off the bat, we find out that Bonnie signed the Evil Petition. Then we learn Bonnie's role in Maddie's life, and we are sympathetic to Maddie. But the more I saw what a small community this is, the more I appreciate Bonnie's dilemma - she doesn't want Maddie and Nathan's past to keep her from being a social pariah, or Skye. Bonnie has a really thin line to walk, sometimes she screws up (Planned Parenthood), sometimes she does good (showing up at the play, the dinner attempt). I think Zoe resembles her father as much, if not more. I'm not sure if she has Lenny's eyes, but they definitely aren't from Lisa.
  23. It's understandable why Lannisters got the prime time for ratings expediency: TV viewers are more drawn in by scenes featuring people who are tied together. Just is. The question IMO is, have D and D unduly manipulated the storyline changes to keep the Starks isolated, longer than necessary? re: Promo. I think it's implied he's seated in the last shot. Dany and Cersei have real throne-thrones you walk right up to. Winterfell doesn't have a throne, but that trestle table for the Lord and whatever council, he'd have to walk around. (Love me some James.)
  24. She needs to make up something with no loose ends, and stick to it.
  25. Do Bonnie's values include getting an appearance on CNN? Abby's strategy is kind of dependent on that. But millennial. Well there's Tarzan. Kind of cheesy but it does involve a lot of shirtlessness. Going back a couple pages ... I can't imagine there is any way to tell a child they're the product of a rape, that's not going to do some damage once it starts to sink in. People whose existential crises start early in life tend to be very interesting, but people without seem to be a lot happier.
