But Christine won't share a house with these women she claims to be so bonded to. She doesn't want to watch her husband kiss another woman. Christine is basically living a monogamist lifestyle with a part-time husband and a few other women she sees at holidays and lunch and apparently when the kids birth out a grand-kid. Robyn hired a relative to watch her kids a few seasons back instead of asking Christine. Really, Christine is full of shit. And she's still the most like-able one of this bunch.

They had nothing else to cap off the season with. There has been no progress on Coyote Pass. If even a single shovel had touched the ground between when they began filming that season and last night, they would have shown it. So we know it's going nowhere. Meri and Kody still hate each other, and the Robyn Pray for a Rental thing only goes so far. Janelle and Christine are too compliant to provide a story line at this point. So they had to focus on the birth. They're becoming the Duggars, filming weddings and births to eat up screen time.

My personal feeling on this is that when the baby wasn't in the right position during early labor and because the baby was diagnosed with birth defects before birth, the birthing center should have been legally barred from accepting Maddie as a patient. In those circumstances, they should be required to send her to the hospital. Only a complete idiot goes to the birthing center when your baby is missing bones and you don't know the exact cause or the full extent of the problem. Not to mention that Axel's birth seemed less than smooth, so problems should have been anticipated.

All sister wife politics aside, if the point was really to save money and build on Coyote Pass as soon as possible, Janelle with two kids and Christine with 3 kids could share one house with all the girls sharing rooms, and Robyn with five kids could share one house with Meri. It just doesn't seem like the point was ever to save money and build on Coyote Pass. They keep saying that is the point of it all, but their actions scream otherwise. Was the point really just for Dayton to attend college in Flagstaff?? As much as they are doormats, I really doubt Christine and Janelle would have agreed to move if that was the only reason.

Where IS Paedon? Did he graduate high school? It seemed like he just disappeared one day, not that he really got all that much screen time to begin with. Does Christine only have 3 kids at home now? Why are these women renting such massive homes when most of them have fewer than 4 kids still living with them??? I'm super curious about the relationship between Logan and Kody. Logan completely disappeared from the show. He doesn't even do the stupid cameo appearance at Christmas. That can't sit well with Kody, who is super controlling (as therapist Nancy pointed out).
-
Maybe they needed to prove some of the adult children still spend time with them. Other than Maddie and cameos by Aspyn, none of the other adult children film much, except the Christmas episode where they were in the background. I think Robyn's kids appear to be increasingly the only children who are interested. And Maddie, because she's probably getting a separate paycheck.

I love little moments like the one with where Ysabel wants to go to college that prove that Kody hardly sees some of his wives and kids. That's where we get to see the real story beyond the crap they try to feed us. The wives hardly know anything about each other, and Kody knows nothing about the daily lives of many of his wives or children. Difficulties closing Robyn's mortgage didn't occur because of polygamy. They happened because Kody has minor children with 3 baby mamas, multiple accounts, and probably multiple businesses and properties. Determining him as a credit risk has to be near impossible. But Robyn tries to play it as prejudice against polygamists. I loved Christine's comment about how children should leave the nest. I hope Robyn heard it when she watched the episode.

No one should agree to be a plural wife EVER, but Meri has the means and ability to leave, and she's choosing to stay and be miserable, possibly to profit off the show. Meri has two businesses and a second residence, because she could live at the Inn while running it. We were shown last season that Meri does have family that shows up for her. And Mariah is grown and gone. Even if Mariah hated her for leaving, that is Mariah's problem at this point. The marriage is dead. Just go. The real problem is that Meri loves being the martyr and the victim. She feeds off the attention. She was only willing to leave when a catfish was offering more attention than her current situation.

I want one whole episode that shows what Kody does for money, and what he actually contributes to each household. He seems like a dude who shows up at the homes of four single mothers seeking food and sex. And he doesn't even want sex from anyone except Robyn and maybe Christine.
-
I know someone whose daughter did this for the exact same reason. The result was a botched breech birth and a child with totally preventable permanent brain damage and disabilities. Oh, and the birthing center declared bankruptcy, and they only had around $100,000 in insurance. So good luck with the lawsuit. You are depending on someone who is not a doctor to decide if you need to go to a real hospital. So stupid. They seem to be ramping up the drama this season to try to improve the ratings. Both Meri and Robyn are more hysterical than ever, and for no real reason. I think it's faked.
-
I finished watching the episode. Kody is an ass, but Robyn is ridiculous and unhinged. The crying and the hysteria and the praying for a ridiculous oversized rental when there are plenty of other options available was just over the top. They are not about to be homeless, so they don't need to invoke God in this. Worse case scenario, they bunk with one of the the other wives, or get an AirBnB, or give in and "settle" for a 4 bedroom rental. The way Robyn was carrying on, you would think they were about to be in a tent on the street. She is worse than Meri, who appears to throw a hysterical fit of her own next week. Both of them desperately want attention. And none of them appear to be able to handle finances or do math. Renting a 7 bedroom house is likely to be as much a financial strain as buying it. Either way, you are taking money away from building a new house. That's why so many people who are building bunk with relatives or friends after selling their own house and while waiting for the new one. These idiots could have sold 3 Las Vegas homes and lived in one while the Flagstaff homes were being built. Janelle apparently only has 2 kids left at home. They could have made it work.
-
I would worry less about the marriage certificate, and more about financial independence. What can Christine do for money if she walks away from Kody?? The only good thing a legal marriage entitles them to is alimony. That's it. The 7-bedroom house is hysterical. They are such assholes. There were plenty of 4 bedroom rentals that would suit them if the situation was really just temporary. But it seems obvious that Coyote Pass is just dead weight they won't be able to sell. Didn't the seller have to legally disclose issues with the property like it being a flood plain? I like Aspyn. I really hope she doesn't agree to be a plural wife.

S04.E05: Our Lips Are Sealed
Kellyee replied to OnceSane's topic in 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days
Ed and Geoffrey are horribly, pitifully, sadly, disturbingly insecure. That is why they are dating younger women from foreign countries. They need the power imbalance. But then they are outraged when these women they think they have power over answer back or walk away, because in their heads the cost of the plane ticket and the chance to come to America means these women owe them something and should be bowing down to them. And like others have said, the whole Varya/Geoffrey thing does seem a bit scripted and over the top. Which is sad if Geoffrey is using his dead kid for sympathy while taking part in a made up storyline. -

Varya's friends really tossed her under the bus by outing her other American relationships. I wonder if they did that on purpose to ruin the relationship. Considering Big Ed cheated on his first wife and is keeping secrets of his own about wanting a vasectomy, he needs to shut his mouth about Rose's past. If you don't trust her, why did you go to the Philippines to begin with? I give Rose a lot of credit for demanding he take the test too. -
I added spoilers because it discusses stuff that happens after the current episode.

I had a horrible time learning to ride a bike, and I'm not autistic. Some people are more anxious and less coordinated than others. Truely has to compete for her father's attention with Solomon and Ariella. Kody was dating Robyn when Christine was pregnant with Truely. Christine said that Truely has trouble with change, and she's just been moved away from several siblings, including Aspyn who seemed to be like a second mother. Then there is the complete level of chaos these people live in in general. I feel sorry for the poor kid. And these people are not religious. They can't even be attending the same church, because they have admitted that they go weeks without seeing each other. Which means there is no way they are attending a home church or any church on a weekly basis. They throw in comments about religion the same way I throw in comments about how I should eat more vegetables, half-heartedly and without any real conviction.

Each of the kids seems really close to their own biological mother, and then Janelle's kids are close with Christine as well. I don't think they are going to do something to hurt their mom. I finally finished watching the episode. Did anyone else notice how Kody tried to use the kids to undermine Robyn and win the house buying argument? That seemed very calculated. They have one child they say is having a mental health issue, but they put the kids in the center of their disagreement and then Kody tries to turn the kids on their mother. It would be ironic if Robyn ended up being the wife to leave. I always said being Kody's legal wife is no prize. It just means that Kody has more power, which is not a good thing. And if Brianna misses her other siblings, set up some sleepover and get togethers. I am telling you, these wives hate other and avoid each other whenever possible, even if it means a child doesn't get to see her brothers and sisters.

We get isolated episodes here and there where Kody spends time teaching his sons to wrestle or taking his daughters on an outing, but overall, we don't see much evidence that Kody has a close relationship with any of his kids. Christine has made references in the past to her kids seeing Kody once a week. For all Kody's big show of carrying Brianna out of the room, we have seen little evidence that he actually spends any time with her. Janelle and Christine go visit Maddy, but when do they ever show Kody going to visit his daughter, or any of his kids who live out of state? I maintain my original theory: These are 4 completely separate households that share finances and a part-time husband. The older kids are close because they used to all live together, but the adults can't really stand each other and never could. Except for Janelle and Christine, who seem to honestly get along well.
-
Meh, I watch the show. Despite Janelle's claims, I really think 75% of it is staged or edited to increase the drama. I'm not even sure that panic attack was all that real. They're stupid, but they're not evil. It's entertainment, just like any other show. Watching these people is nothing compared to the people who continue to watch Kevin Spacey movies. The Browns are small fish in a small pond, and we're preventing them from having to commit welfare fraud to survive by watching their mostly fake drama.

Kody loves Kody, all the time. And anyone who doesn't want to support Kody's bullshit dreams is on the shit list. Notice how Kody threw Christine under the bus with Aurora by saying that the Christine is the reason they can't all live in one house. Some people might even call that parental alienation. Even in his problems with Meri, Kody isn't handling it like an adult. An adult would end the obviously toxic relationship, not let it continue to fester and make everyone else miserable. Kody is a spoiled 5 year old.
-
Robyn, Meri, and Christine are all in homes far larger than they need for the number of children they still have at home. It is ridiculous, but it's how they operate. It's not just Robyn. Meri could have shared a house with one of the other wives, or she could have gotten a one bedroom apartment. There are tons of ways they could save money. Christine has at least 2 kids already gone and around 4 still at home. She could have gotten a 3 bedroom house to rent too. But nope. They all have to have a mansion, except for Janelle, who is probably the only one looking at their monthly expenses.
-
Janelle kept whining last season about how she had to uproot her kids because it was her big dream to see trees. Maybe she should live in the damn tree lot. Or, you could just cut the stupid trees down. That's also an option.
-
More than any other wife on this show, Meri has the ability to leave whenever she wants. She is already living separately, her daughter is grown and independent, she has her own job, and she has family support from what we saw last season when she was buying the family home back. She's choosing to stay and be miserable. They'e not even legally married, and Kody has already said this season that he does not currently stay over at Meri's house. She could take whatever money she gets from the Las Vegas house and split. I suspect all this drama is for the camera, and that off-camera they don't even see each other.

I have a hard time seeing Jeremy agreeing to something like this. Jeremy seems a little more "alpha male" than the other husbands and Duggars, and I have doubts that he would accept handout payments from Jim Bob instead of trying to negotiate his own deal. He's got Jinger wearing pants, cutting her hair, and living in evil Los Angeles, and Jim Bob and Michele haven't banned them from the house like Jill (that we know of). Maybe Jeremy and Jinger are more interesting to film, so TLC forced Jim Bob to give them their own deal?

Snark Should Be Multiplied, Not Divided: General Show Discussion
Kellyee replied to sweet201's topic in Sister Wives
Did Logan start refusing to film? Is that why we never see Logan and barely hear of him anymore? I think it's been at least 2 seasons since we've had any significant air time with Logan, and I'm wondering if he decided to quit this shit show completely.
