Trace and Lydia: Can She Become a Citizen Now?
3 is enough replied to Heathen's topic in Bringing Up Bates
Perhaps @Notabug could give us her professional insight but I do wonder if getting pregnant again less than 6 months after giving birth opens you up to a greater risk of miscarriage? Pretty sure I read that it takes at least 18 months to fully recover from giving birth. -
Josie and Kelton: They Have Employable Skills

Their People article was up yesterday. No name mentioned. After Hazel was born and out of the NICU they talked about Josie’s condition and at the time Kelton did say that they might have to revisit the number of children they planned to have, especially since there was a strong possibility that it would get worse with every subsequent pregnancy/ birth. I guess he has a short memory. Pretty sure they will at least try for a brother for unnamed baby boy. -

The question is , when did she take out the curlers? Because she just posted a video of the baby being born and her hair was loose. I guess they maintained the charade of “ we don’t know what we are having” through the delivery. I have to say they are pretty good actors. -

Someone on Reddit got a screenshot of the deleted photo. Bracelet says male. Also says 2/21 so she is delaying posts. Honestly I do not understand why they would be so cagey. Posting a bunch of photos but not saying if it’s a boy or girl? You could tell by how thrilled they looked that it was a boy anyhow. -

I wonder if we will have to wait until a People or US Weekly article drops before she updates on Instagram? -

Can you just imagine what is being said at the nurses' station ? Those L & D nurses work hard. Anything that makes them laugh is a good thing, though I'm sure that was not Josie's intention. -

Josie just posted that she was going into the hospital at midnight to start the induction. She was getting ready- took a shower, took off her makeup and put her hair into the heatless curlers. 🙄 I totally get taking a shower but curling my hair would have been the furthest thing from my mind. She did mention her hair getting matted and tangled during labor but why she didn’t just braid her hair? The commitment to push those damn curlers is so strong. -

I bounced back faster after my second two pregnancies even though the babies were bigger than my first. I’m guessing I was just too busy with all the kids. I still remember Alyssa going to church in a fitted white dress within a week of delivering Zoey. She certainly did not bounce back as quickly after Golden Boy and it obviously bothered her. It will be interesting to see how Josie does. With 3 kids she just may be too busy to obsess over her figure, though somehow I doubt that will be the case. -

During her first two pregnancies she just had a relatively small bump. This time she seems to have gained weight all over. I do wonder if she will have a harder time getting back to her pre-baby weight, and if it will bother her. They all seem to bounce back really quickly. -

Apparently after all that time and money they still only got 2nd place in the costume contest. Erin’s family won. I didn’t get a good look at the Paines’ costumes but given the rumors of bad blood between Carlin and Erin it must have been quite disappointing for Carlin. -

In her stories she showed Kelton giving her and the girls Valentine’s flowers tonight. She also did a reel showing the progression of her bump. Looks very much like it will be all over soon. 🤷🏼♀️ -

Apparently Evan’s younger brother Ethan and his wife are separated. They have been married for almost 3 years. She had a miscarriage back in the summer. From the little I have seen of him he seemed like a real piece of work. -

She has a reel in her stories. Those costumes look very expensive. Maybe they were able to rent them from some place? -
I understand there were budget constraints but leaving the floor uneven in the kitchen seemed wrong to me. Will that get worse over time? I just feel it would have been preferable to make sure everything was level even if that meant downgrading to a less expensive counter material. It wouldn’t be the first time structural issues affected the finishes.

The $1000 bassinet was a Snoo. As I understand it it rocks and shushes the baby and responds with more stimulation when the baby fusses. People who use them swear it helps the babies sleep through the night sooner. But it is only good for the first 6 months then you have to wean them off it.

I think Kelton has Rosacea. He always looks flushed. That’s quite the outfit Josie is wearing. It’s possible the photos were taken before she got sick. The flu this year is a particularly strong strain. Certainly it could have been Covid , but I doubt she is vaccinated against either. While the vaccine might not stop you from getting it, it can stop you from getting really sick. Given her high risk pregnancy I do wonder if her doctors recommended getting the vaccines.

As I recall last year they got her ears pierced for her birthday. I don’t think they really go all out for birthdays. I can’t fault them for that. Little kids are happy with a cake and a couple of gifts. At the grocery store they could have asked Layla what vegetable she would like INSTEAD of broccoli. Especially since they were filming a “we do buy groceries” story. -
Erin and Chad: Fifty Shades of Pink

Erin broke her right arm. She did not say how it happened but says it will take months to heal. It must be a pretty bad break. My son broke his ankle playing hockey last summer and after two weeks on crutches he had a walking boot. He certainly was not out of commission for months. Maybe she is exaggerating a bit about the severity? I can’t imagine having a newborn and 5 other young kids and having to deal with a broken arm. -

I am not sure how it works. Maybe someone who lives in Florida can enlighten us? -

Apparently Florida gives money to parents who homeschool. This may be a partial answer as to why Erin and Chad relocated. The lower the income of the family the more they get. I was somewhat aware of the voucher program but never really considered that families like the Paines could benefit. It was brought up on Reddit. I guess Alyssa and John benefit as well. -

Josie and Kelton are going to the same retreat. Michael was going to their house to watch the girls. I wonder who is looking after Layla and Zade? -

I know I am from a different generation, but the skintight maternity clothes do not look flattering or comfortable. One of the dresses was pulling across her thighs and just looked too tight. I know they like to show off their bumps but this is extreme. Josie is really pushing the girl mom thing these days.I suspect she knows it’s a boy and is milking it while she can. -

Grew up in Montreal. Snow was hardly a novelty. November-April. My mother had a system. Clothesline next to the furnace. Full of coats, snow pants, hats, and mittens every night. Boot tray next to the heat register so they would dry by the morning. We were always excited for the first snow, but by January it was old news.
