That was my guess too, that he wasn't telling the whole story.  Although with this show, he might be.  If it was mother show, we'd know he was lying and had done something ridiculously horrible.

The problem for me is, we've seen so many horrors on the mothership that these basic stories of "I left, I was selfish, they all turned while I was gone" are just meh.

ETA:  if this were the mothership, Charlie would push PJ off the roof to distract the zombies.

So.....Logan's back story was somewhat similar to the good people of Terminus before they turned into conniving cannibals (although one could argue the 'Termites'deserved vengeance to a certain extent). Started out wanting to help people then shit happens.

Personally I prefer the zombies in Dawn of the Dead which had no interest in animals. Chips the dog was left unharmed!
