Lady Calypso June 3, 2014 Share June 3, 2014 Oh, poor Nick. I really liked the Fite Nite scene because it showed that Nick isn't over Andy, he's aware of Andy/Sam and, unfortunately, he's aware of his chances with Andy compared to Sam's. It's actually really sad, but it also gave me a glimmer of hope that they aren't just going to forget Nick/Andy for the sake of Andy/Sam. I absolutely can see why Gail is acting so hostile toward Holly (or what I hope is her reason). This is a new relationship for her in general and she's clearly scared so she takes the first chance she gets to pick a fight with Holly and 'breaks up' with her. I think this is an interesting side to Gail, to see her so vulnerable and see her stack her walls up once again. I may not like it, but I can see where they might be heading with these two and it's interesting to watch. Now it seems that she's flirting with the other lady cop? So, I see there is going to be more Wes/Dov conflict. Which I am not too pleased about, actually. I like Chloe just fine now, but if I have to sit through a love triangle, I don't want it to be between these three. I laughed at Traci helping Dov and Gail but then promptly walking away once Oliver showed up. The case that Andy had wasn't entirely interesting, to be honest. I'm still not a fan of Duncan. I know there's a story they're trying to tell, but it's currently not working for me. I see they're trying to give Chris any kind of storyline at this point. It kind of works for his character, but at the same time, they had an out for the actor if they couldn't think of anything else last season and they brought him back, so I hope his purpose is better than taking care of a kid from last season. Great episode, directed by our own Gregory Smith, so kudos to him because once again, he did a good job. 1 Link to comment
kb3 June 3, 2014 Share June 3, 2014 I hope that there is more to the rookie than what they've shown so far. He feels a bit overplayed. It was nice to see our old Peck back with the proffered drink. Are we taking side bets as to when Oliver will be back with "his people"? 1 Link to comment
DropTheSoap June 3, 2014 Share June 3, 2014 There may have been some flirting from the chicken-cop woman. Not sure it was two-sided, though, given that Gail gave her the drink w/an extra shot of backwash. Not surprised Gail shut down on Holly. She put herself out there and got dissed at the Penny. Not by Holly, but it's going to take a bit to figure that out. The rookie continues to be uninteresting. Nick got himself pummeled for some sort of external show of his feelings for Andy. I'm glad they didn't do the traditional "he sees the woman and rallies" move. I did like Chloe being in Nick's corner as the worst corner-person ever. But that sort of worked. Wes wasn't as much of a douche at first, was he? It seems like they've amped up his bad manners. 1 Link to comment
weightyghost June 3, 2014 Share June 3, 2014 Sam is so dull. There's no inflection in his voice, no expression on his face. It's such a contrast when he's with Andy who can be all over the place. It makes him infuriating to watch. Both police cases tonight were boring. They both seemed to just end without any real excitement. When do people stop being rookies on this show? When they can become TOs or when they get the tie cut off? Because Nick got his cut two years ago so I'm wondering if it was simply no one cared that he wasn't a rookie fighting, or simply a plot device to have him pummeled in front of Andy because he ~got in the game and got hurt. Though I'm sure Andy took it with her and Sam, and it will be no surprise when she inevitably gets hurt in about 10 episodes. Best part of the episode was Nick/Chloe in the ring. It made up the fact that the boxing was way too long. 1 Link to comment
Sandman June 3, 2014 Share June 3, 2014 (edited) I've decided I like Gail best with Dov or Holly. Frosty and Andy bring out the worst in each other, but I love how Dov can get away with teasing Gail ("What if Duncan doesn't see your pale, pale face in the crowd...?") in ways that make her seem almost human. Frosty's referring to Chris as Dov's child and responsibility to console might be the funniest she's been since ... ever. I can see where "the botched boob-job masquerading as your best friend" would get Frosty's back up, but I hope Gail gives Holly a chance to explain that there's a difference between "I'm having fun" and "I'm only in this for fun." If the show wants me to care at all about Dumb Duncan, I'll need a reason, and soon. Actually, the show seems at something of a loss to know what to do with Chris, as well. Please don't make me want to give up on characters I used to care about, show. I'm glad they didn't do the traditional "he sees the woman and rallies" move. I did like Chloe being in Nick's corner as the worst corner-person ever. But that sort of worked. I liked that they avoided that cliché, too. Chloe is literally the worst person to have in your corner, but she kind of sucks at it in an adorable way. And Wes was definitely less of a testosterone bucket before. "Fite Nite" is still stoopid. Emily Thrace June 4, 2014 Share June 4, 2014 If the show wants me to care at all about Dumb Duncan, I'll need a reason, and soon. Actually, the show seems at something of a loss to know what to do with Chris, as well. Please don't make me want to give up on characters I used to care about, show. I wish they would bring in some of Chris`s family he actually one of the most interesting backstories on the show it would be great to see that explored. Although Duncan is clearly just a plot device I would be shocked if he actually makes it a full season. This episode may be one of the first times I was bored watching McSwarek work a case together usually these two are totally my favourite summer romance/angst-fest. I think it was because their not quite back in-sync yet I think Sam is actually holding back on the snark to try and prove hes ``changed``. Plus Robe Guy was such a douche he was basically unwatchable. Link to comment
mybabyaidan June 28, 2014 Share June 28, 2014 So does anyone actually care that Frank was essentially fired? Oliver and Sam are supposed to be his friends, but not even a word has been uttered about it. Unless I missed it. 1 Link to comment

Me too! Don't think I've forgotten about that drugged-up confession from Dov, show! I still remember the Christmas mornings with the straw color-haired children! Still waiting for Nick and Andy to have a real conversation. The whole Fite Nite thing was so lame. I agree with everyone that the cases were boring. Chloe was adorable though. But is she just leading Wes on? Are they going to have a confrontation? Link to comment
webruce July 27, 2014 Share July 27, 2014 (edited) Well nice to see Andy and Traci walking in together. They don't seem to hang out like they did as rookies. Duncan wasn't as Rookie annoying as he was last week, but he wasn't in on the collection which is good. Nice to see Nick work with him. I could see why he backed out against Officer Bruno "The Bruiser" Dexter. Felt sad for Chris who wishes he was still a rookie. Surprised the delivery man brought the wrong drinks. Wasn't even an Oliver joke. Chloe helping Nick and Chris felt a little off for me, but she did a good job. She hardly had time with Dov. Nice to see her and Sam out of hospital. It was nice that Nick in the ring didn't go all "Rocky" when he saw Sam and Andy together. But it looks like he made her think. I can tell that Andy still loves Nick too. But she has to get Sam out of her system. I could see that Gail felt so out of place when she met Holly, Rachel and Lisa at "The Penny". Was surprised when Gail came back from the bathroom that she got so upset with Holly. Holly did tell Rachel that she was having fun, but I didn't quite take it the way Gail did. Maybe she will see that she needs Holly. Or maybe she will miss Chris or Nick. It was nice that Gail and Dov got to talk in the Squad Car. Some seemed awkward but those 3, (her, him and Chris)have been relatively close since Rookies. I like to see that continue. Maybe Chris and Gail need to ride a shift together and both may be able to talk out some frustrations?? It isn't as easy now to talk things out with Oliver for the team. My thoughts on Dov and Gail meeting Wesley Cole and Jen Luck at the Geno Jones residence was to help Gail get her mind back on her snark and use it on Jen and Wes and Dov talk out some aggression over Chloe. I believe maybe Wes thought that Chloe sending him away at the hospital was to let her explain to Dov the situation and let him down easily. But it also may have made Dov believe she wants him and she will divorce Wes soon enough. So maybe Wes thinks he still has a chance some how. Maybe Dov and Chloe will have to straighten things out so they do avoid a confrontation with Wes and Dov over her. How about bring Marlo back and have her and Wes, or Wes and Jen become a dating item? I would like to see Marlo back. The COTW seemed that to me something was up with the way ex Myrna Jones was acting. Geno Jones always in his robe was a Chauvinist. But he knew he had many short comings. But I thought to that something was odd about talking about the piano. But if Myrna hated the piano so why didn't she get rid of it?? I also knew that when Dov and Gail walked through that old warehouse they had to come up on something going on. It was funny that Traci worked with them and then poor Oliver when he come in and they wouldn't tell it all. I had figured that the wall safe they found had the money in it and Geno was just not aware they found it. But that was small potatoes compared to the piano. Duncan did have trouble apprehending Geno. Andy had to do it. Maybe that is what made him think he didn't like to be punched. Myrna's call for help to Geno about Lee Baker holding her ransom did sound a bit odd. But it was worse when they found Lee tied up. But after seeing Myrna get excited about Geno punching Duncan it was funny seeing her all cold when she was brought into interrogation to explain it all to Geno. But Sam and Andy letting them stay together in there and work it out was cute. Was surprised that Frank wasn't at Fite Nite. Still don't know what to think of Inspector John Jarvis.
