'Justin Baldoni dropped by agent after Blake Lively harassment complaint'

Quote

Well, that was fast: Within hours of being hit (along with his fellow producers at Wayfarer Studios, and multiple publicists they’d reportedly hired to help manage the story surrounding them) in a lengthy sexual harassment complaint from Blake Lively, It Ends With Us director-star-producer Justin Baldoni has been dropped by his representation at WME. That’s usually the dead canary at the bottom of the coal mine when it comes to a Hollywood performer getting ready to have a pretty bad time; the decision was reportedly (per Deadline) made in the immediate aftermath of Lively’s complaint becoming public.

If you haven’t read said complaint, it is, as they say, a doozy, running to 62 pages, and alleging two separate levels of bad behavior on the part of Baldoni and his co-producer on the film, Jamey Heath.  <...>

Man, it's been awhile since an ingenue barely known pulls off an Oscar win. The last time it happened was Brie Larson and she had a pretty mixed career after the win. (I'd also say that win differs a bit because it was pretty clear that Brie was taking home the Oscar that year, while this year was a much more up in the air race.)  I really hope Mikey Madison is surrounded by good people and capitalizes on this win well.

Shame for Demi Moore, although like Glen Close, I imagine having an Oscar campaign will interest a lot more people in reviving her career.

Demi Moore's fall was her own fault.

She never accepted her own limitations.

It's really funny that Easy A ripped hard on Demi's version of The Scarlett Letter with the baths and bad English accent. Honestly, Demi probably would have had a shot at an Oscar during her hey day if StripTease had instead been a film about prostitution. Hollywood loves hookers.
