S04.E19: The Battle of Maddie vs. Chloe

The rivalry between Maddie and Chloe has boiled for four seasons and this episode of Dance Moms traces the very beginnings of it. Maddie and Chloe battled for first place in competitions, first position on the pyramid and ultimately, for a place in Abby's heart... But is the rivalry really between them...or between their mothers?

So, this is a retrospective clip package, right?  Are there new episodes coming up soon, or is the show on hiatus for a while?  (As a mod on this forum I should probably know that).

My dvr doesn't have any new episodes set to record for the next couple weeks so I think this is the end of the season.

I think I heard it's coming back in June.

I hadn't intended on watching this episode because I don't really think it was an episode that needed to happen... But I did wind up having it on in the background while I was doing other stuff. I thought the crazy was amped up in the later seasons, but actually I would almost say they've toned it down. I didn't remember a lot if the little comments made by Christi and Melissa.... Like when Chloe got the part in the music video and Melissa said "we know it wasn't based on dance ability" I couldn't believe it.

I also had it on in the background as I was doing other work because I didn't think this episode would be that interesting. I enjoyed seeing some of the older dances and that's about it. That's really the only reason I watch the show is because I like watching the girls dance. The rivalry is clearly something that's between their mothers. Those moms are both crazy, there were so many comments where I was disgusted with them. I'm ready for a break for a few weeks.

Why couldn't you believe it?  They always make ridiculous comments like that.  Making excuses for when someone else's child wins, or when their child is taken out of a dance.  (that's for Holly who hasn't figured out that her daughter can't keep up).  They are all delusional.  It's sad that they are so focused on winning a silly competition.

I can't find an official return date for the show, but rumors have it sometime in June.  According to this article they started filming new eps May 2. (That link contains a couple photos of filming in the dance studio so spoiler alert--although pretty mild spoilers).

Watching the old dances made me realize that Maddie' s dancing has gotten better and her "face" has gotten worse.

 

That face is a face you see a lot in "lyrical" and "contemporary" dance for young dancers.  They don't know real angst yet.
