Season finale!

When the King's madness and cruelty reaches a fevered pitch, Mary and Francis take action. Their choices could change the course of history, but an unforeseen terror brewing in the woods could cost them, and their friends, everything. Mary makes a drastic decision when she learns Lola is going through a life-threatening labor at a location outside of the castle.

Loved the season finale. Lots of storylines to deal with next year. Lola, Francis, baby and the plague, Greer's fiancee's daughter loves Leith, Kenna and Bash in love, Mary locking the King of France out of his castle....

I hate to see Henry go, however. He and Catherine are the best on the series. But the younger ones seem to be stepping up.

I liked the twist of making Francis the jouster in the place of Montgomery. I didn't like the big hug with Bash. I was hoping Francis would get rid of hm too.

I liked that twist too. I'm always happy when a show surprises me.

Bash has grown on me since he's not whining about Mary. I like him with Kenna.

Over the weekend I caught "Mary Of Scotland" on TCM, and was amused by how much clothing they wore! I was trying to picture Katherine Hepburn in the cut-out-sleeve thing Mary wore this evening! Then Mary revealed to Francis how she was blind and deaf to her heart or something, and I filled in the 'and dumb' for her. The episode was, better than usual, though. I liked the Leith story, and the new love interest is pretty and will allow Leith to become Greer's son-in-law I guess? I wonder whether Mary and Francis will pass off Lola's child as their own? I guess it could only happen after everyone who might have witbnessed Mary never being pregnant died in the plague.

Well, Leith just hit my shit list pretty hard. Never had a character fall from my esteem that fast, actually. Greer's making an incredible and necessary sacrifice for her sisters, and for Leith to just toss that away as if it was nothing was just stupid of him. After his whole speech at the end, I find myself hoping that when he pops buy at the Castleroy homestead to court Yvette (?), he bumps into a raidantly happy Greer, possibly pregnant and having her sisters living with her.

I never disliked Mary, but in a way I feel that this season belongs to Francis more. I feel like Mary's hardening was too abrupt, and that Francis still has his moral compass to deal with. In that last shot (which was amazing, btw), with him turning away from the castle as Mary locks him out, I feel that he's the one whose become the true decent ruler and she's the one going down the dark path that will bode no good. Two styles of ruling clashing...

I was indifferent to The Darkness before, but I'm actually intrigued by how the predictions are coming true. It seems kind of dumb of the characters to just assume that only Nostradamus has The Sight.

I very much like Kenna and Bash together. They bring out the best in each other.

Nostradamus is kind of pointless on this show. Aside from not being able to keep his prophesies straight, the show failed to use the one "prophesy" he's most famous for - supposedly predicting the Death of King Henry. Ah well. The rest of it is mostly anachronistic soapy CW fun.

Leith's speech seriously ticked me off. It just reminded me of so many Nice Guy jackasses. The entitlement, the self-absorption....argh. I wish he had just died.

I really wish this lola baby storyline would go away. It's seriously getting annoying. Everything else is so rushed yet we are still dealing with this in S2? I really loved how Francis evolved as a character, but would like to see some of that same evolution for Mary. Her screeching about Scotland and acting like she's been ruling when she's basically been eating stale porridge in wherever the hell she since she was small. LBR she has no practical ruling experience yet she thinks she knows it all. I just wish she'd think before she acts. I just feel kind of disconnected from her pov in these last series of episodes.

I agree about Mary. Though I do love the running joke of Mary screaming about Scotland, then Francis or some other character in power agreeing to help her/Scotland and then absolutely nothing being done. When was the last time she or anyone set foot in Scotland? Not suprising what happens to her when she actually does go back to rule.

Yes! Bash is so useless and annoying. I will hate it if the writers make Bash some sort of counsel to Francis when Bash has betrayed him in the past (and still not apologized for it) and, to be frank, is a dummy.

He's the only hot guy to me on this show, so he has a that huge big point in my favor :)
