Obviously there are two sides to the story, and we have only heard Jared's side. People who want to defend Jared are leaping to a lot of unwarranted assumptions and conclusions without really knowing

I think he was on for the amount of time he was scheduled for initially. They moved the broadcast to a different channel because GMA was covering the Vegas shooting but I didn't get the impression he was scheduled to be on for 10 or 15 minutes. IMO, it was  Kelly Ripa focusing on the connection Ryan had to Jensen in the past, which took time away whatever Jensen was there to talk about it. JMHO.

Thanks for bringing the clip. As much as I love Jensen is how much I cannot stand that little witch. Dunno how he resisted splashing some holy water on her. Blech. I had no idea Jensen and Mecrest were once roommates.

He looked great and was as charming as ever <3 but I agree, it was a little peculiar. I'm still not sure what the appearance was about. They mentioned SPN and the longest running genre show in USA/13th season, but no clips - they didn't even mentioned the premiere date. And they mentioned the fundraising, but no link to the website or how to donate. Weird.

I think they had a clip after the commercial break that wasn't in the you tube video based on Kelly saying "We need answers!"  Ryan mentioned the premiere date at the end but it was hard to hear over the audience cheering.

Ah. I got the impression her "We need answers' was in response to something said off-camera, but I have it recorded and will watch tonight. ONLY for Jensen would I willingly listen to that she-cat speak. Did I mention I loath her? LOL!

All that said though, it was GREAT to see him on  US talk show. I wish they'd get more mainstream exposure (ie, the late night shows).

When they came back from the commercial break they played a clip from the s13 promo, where the cop asks Dean if he's some kind of superhero and the clip stops there. That's what Kelly is responding to with "we're waiting for an answer".

Like he said it so earnestly that it came across like he thinks that is what Sam said...maybe he conflated s9 with s12?** I'm legitimately perplexed at that one LOL. Was he hungover? Still drunk? I mean the boys do like to have a good time out and they were spotted out and about in Toronto on Sat night..

Yeah, I had to go back a few times to make sure I heard what I heard. He's talking about 9x23 - and I mean, it's an iconic Dean moment. I normally try to keep quiet when I'm recording*, but I couldn't help reacting. I know Jared is always Sam-centric, but this one really kind of blew my mind.

*I really don't know if I'll even post my Sam Smith panel vid, as my incredulity/ire reeeeeealy tested my self-restraint (and found it lacking).

I think you should post it. Your videos are really clear and have good sound. You're entitled to have your commentary. It's not like you're a journalist and have to be objective. LOL

I gasped a little too when I heard Jared say that.  But I do cut them some slack on those kinds of gafs.  I really don't think they remember sometimes who said what.  After nearly 300 episodes it is bound to happen.

BTW you who take the time to video these conventions for those of us who will never be able to go to one are hero's.  Thank you so much for doing this for us.

For the most part, yes, I agree completely. It's just such an iconic moment, and Jared is usually quite good at those - and he took the time to think about.

Oh I agree.  That moment all the way to the end of that episode took me several weeks to get over.   Like I said I gasped when he said that.

I was kind of surprised that Jared spoke of Sam having a bone to pick with John when it seemed to me that Sam already picked his bones with John in s1 other than the SSKS directive that was given to Dean that came to light in s2. I mean I guess if he wants to get on Johns' case about that I get it. But Sam and John aired their shit pretty explicitly. Weird. 

Dean has never aired his issues with John directly. Sure he idolized him but as we saw in s3 he also had his buried issues and demon!Dean did not speak well of John either. Yes, it was demon!Dean but IMO there were nuggets of truth for Dean about John.

Doubtful, since it's been said that Jensen pretty much ad-libbed it.

And Dean has long since taken John down off his pedestal. I seriously wonder if any of them ever pay any attention to Dean's story line at all. Made me kind of angry, TBH.
