Okay, so I was trying to read Madison's expression when she was having "the talk" with Alicia.  And I can't tell!  I thought she looked a little amused, but that can't be right.

I've always felt that the Nick character is not really meant to be the hero. As a sober addict he seems to be representative of an observer of the previously straight arrow people in his life and around him who are now falling out of their safe trajectories. He was there himself when he was using and now he sort of comes off as the saner, calmer one while everyone else is caroming off each other and the situations they find themselves in.
