Drogo October 24, 2016 Share October 24, 2016 The remaining contestants take part in an Ingredient Crossword Challenge. Later, kid-friendly items must be incorporated into the dinner service during a family night with VIP diners, who include actresses Lauren Lapkus and Ciara Hanna. Link to comment

mertensia November 5, 2016 Share November 5, 2016 Gordon, please start booting them in twos and threes. You know who is not going to have a chance. Boot, boot, boot! 3 Link to comment
Michel November 5, 2016 Share November 5, 2016 Bumper cars on ice? That was original. I would've loved to go on that reward! Totally bogus that Aziza went home tonight just for being overprepared with the garnish while Paulie is spared after sending up raw meat. I wonder if Ramsay factored in overall challenge performance, as well? That's the only reason I can discern that Aziza was eliminated while Paulie stayed, since Aziza had been pretty substandard in challenges, while Paulie, up until this week, had been killing it during them (as he loved telling us every time he won a faceoff in a challenge via his confessionals, over and over and over again). That, and/or Ramsay wanted to even up the men and women again. Speaking of Paulie . . . it's like the men want to keep throwing around the title of who's the worst, most irritating to watch. I had a feeling he was a cocky, arrogant tool, but Devin's confessionals about him tonight pretty much indicate that even some of the other chefs think of him that way, as well. And when he pathetically tried to get Ramsay to tell him if there was even one redeeming thing in his challenge dish, I wanted to smack him one for that. If there's any upside to his edit tonight, I think this put an end to his winning chances. Going back to the women, this was not their best service, but I still think they're the stronger, more solid team. But I didn't expect to see Kimberly outlast any of the other six on the team. I'd thought she was the weakest one left, but apparently, she didn't make any mistakes tonight, and if nothing else, she might've shot past Aziza and Wendy on the strength/weakness scale on the team. Guess Aziza was a weaker chef than the editing had previously let on. And unfortunately, this episode definitely started to finally reveal some other weak links in Wendy and Shaina. If the men remain intact next week, I think one of those two will be gone, as I see Ryan, Heather, and Heidi as too strong to be eliminated this soon. As for the men . . . they remain a mess. I really, really hope that Devin can outlast at least Paulie, Andrew, and Johnny. If not all three, then at least two of them. He is very clearly the only truly decent one of the guys left with Aaron and Genaro gone. It's clear now why they were nominated -- they weren't part of the core boys' club, which seems to be Andrew, Paulie, Johnny, Matt, and Koop. And now that Aaron's gone, the men have decided on Devin being their new convenient scapegoat. I'm still rooting for the fourth female win in a row, because other than Devin, none of these men would be satisfying to see win at all. 3 Link to comment
spiderpig November 6, 2016 Share November 6, 2016 We had a week's hiatus for World Series and came back to this snoozefest. The crossword competition was dumb. Even Guy's Grocery Games has higher standards for challenges. (And smarter contestants with better attitudes.) For me, Family Night translates as dumbing down menus to a four-year-old level, which is about right for this group of cooks. Gordon pulverized salmon again. I am really hating this disrespect of food product. Feed it to the cat or production staff or something. But don't smash it up and throw it in the trash. I can't wait for the next Walking Dead as a palate cleanser. 4 Link to comment
MajorWoody November 6, 2016 Share November 6, 2016 I somehow missed the explanation for the crossword challenge, so I have no idea how it began. It seemed like an incredibly stupid and useless challenge from what I saw. What a shock that just like the previous 378 episodes it came down to the final dish, who would have ever thought? Once again a character contestant is shown avoiding the punishment work, with no repercussions. They might as well stop showing these punishments, since they are apparently optional. If they removed that, and the multiple rehashes after every commercial, they could actually fit in another fifteen minutes of real cooking action. The allegedly raw salmon that Gordon cold cocked into oblivion actually looked perfectly cooked when it splattered. The grilled cheese, however, was not even close to cooked. I don't know how Devin missed that one, even if it was his only screwup. Just think, some kid, years from now, can brag about being on TV and eating at renowned chef Gordon Ramsays Hells Kithcen. When his starstruck friends ask what delectable dish he enjoyed, he can say a partially cooked grilled cheese sammich!!! I figured a female was leaving, since the producers have to make the sides somewhat competitive. I picked Wendy, who seems to have an aversion to multiple types of food, a bad trait to have when trying to win a spot as a head chef. I was somewhat surprised that Aziza was sent packing, but she showed a lot of class in her exit. Good luck to her in the future. I wonder how much of the preview for next week is going to be accurate. My guess is an extremely small amount. 3 Link to comment

queenanne November 7, 2016 Share November 7, 2016 Aw, poor Aziza. Sorry to see her go; I liked her cheerful attitude earlier in the season about being excited to cook "woohoo fish". Now I'm not entirely sure I have anyone to root for... 2 Link to comment
niklj November 7, 2016 Share November 7, 2016 I liked the "CHICKEN!" montage. Still angry that Gordon talked Matt out of quitting. Every time I see him on this show I just think "Why is this quitter still allowed to be here?" 7 Link to comment
