ElectricBoogaloo October 12, 2016 Share October 12, 2016 Quote Schmidt and Cece get help from the gang to remodel their fixer-upper; Jess opens a vote to let Reagan move back into the loft; Nick and Winston make a surprising discovery. Link to comment
BusyOctober October 19, 2016 Share October 19, 2016 It's not that I want Nick & Jess to end up together, but I really really do not want Regan to come back. I didn't like character at all (and I'm not crazy about the actress either). Winston is just all kinds of awesome. I love that he wants his cat exposed to "diverse couples". And I also love that everyone but Winston knows his relationship with Ferguson is one-sided...dude, that cat is not as invested as you are. Schmidt is going to regret that doorbell compromise. Hope they saved the receipt. Or bought a pair of wire cutters. 5 Link to comment
ae2 October 19, 2016 Share October 19, 2016 Hey! This was like a classic New Girl episode! Everyone had some scenes, acted in character, and got laughs from me! We even got some heartfelt moments. Wonder if the lead writer was different than most recent episodes? Everything about it was perfect. And I think it's because it was (basically) a bottle episode. When everyone is split off we end up with a weak story line somewhere (usually wherever Jess is). 1 hour ago, BusyOctober said: Schmidt is going to regret that doorbell compromise. "that gets us out of the whole here's what you need to know about Winston conversation." "No, you just read it from the toilet paper." "Please don't ever start a conversation again with this is the hardest thing for me to say unless it goes, I'm gay, I found a bump on my nuts, or he came out of nowhere, I need your help to wash off the blood!" 6 Link to comment

I agree, and I think what might be worse that Regan herself is the constant specter of Regan the show keeps raising every time Nick talks about her. It's just an obvious ploy to remind us Jess has unresolved feelings for Nick, and we've spent the first five episodes of this season watching her pine over him. I'm tired of it. I'm disappointed we didn't find out why that wall was magnetized. 6 Link to comment
Traveller519 October 19, 2016 Share October 19, 2016 (edited) This was definitely my favourite episode of the season, and the most I've felt good with Jess in a long time. They addressed the issue, but she was completely reasonable about approaching the nick situation and wasn't succumbing to prat falls or other groan worthy behaviour. Cece was fantastic dealing with both Jess and Schmidt. It's cute to see how her attitude towards Schmidt has gone from tolerance to acceptance to outright love. I'm disappointed we didn't find out why that wall was magnetized. To save money on car batteries and wire coils! Edited October 19, 2016 by Traveller519 2 Link to comment

I do not intend to poo-poo your disappointment, but for me the reveal that the wall was magnetized wasn't a dangling thread, but a closing of another? Because originally she said it was something like an unexpectedly sticky wall (which given what Winston and Nick were looking into, potentially super gross), so saying "wait it's not sticky it's magnetic" solves that bit (even though yes it does beg its own question). I thought the Seattle thing was disappointing because it so looked like a fake backdrop behind the window so it didn't really resolve anything. Although I do get how it could make Nick and Winston feel off the hook on the secret front. Still that image did not at all make it seem like they'd really ruled out the house. I also found their secret keepers ritual hilarious. I don't even know why. I think I'm just a sucker for that sort of it's-a-specific-detail-of-their-friendship-so-they-must-do-it kind of thing. Loved it. Link to comment
iMonrey October 19, 2016 Share October 19, 2016 Can anyone remember what the other five secrets were? I can only remember the Halloween candy one. Yeah - the backdrop with the Space Needle looked super fake. And since they're in L.A. (or thereabouts) it seems way more likely the porno was shot there than in Seattle. I loved the bit where Cece was saying she couldn't tell the difference between all the cabinets, not even the stainless steel ones. "You can't tell the difference between metal and wood? There might be a larger problem here." 1 Link to comment
