Athena August 4, 2016 Share August 4, 2016 The Olympic triathlon contains three components; a 1.5 km (0.93 mi) swim, 43 km (27 mi) cycle, and a 10 km (6.2 mi) run. Link to comment
SnoGirl August 20, 2016 Share August 20, 2016 I'm super excited for this event. I hope they cover parts of it on tv. I'm really rooting for Gwen after the diaster of the blown tire in the London Games. 1 Link to comment
galaxygirl76 August 20, 2016 Share August 20, 2016 I don't know why but I'm really happy this is an Olympic event. Probably my favorite of the ones added in recent history. 2 Link to comment
Ohwell August 20, 2016 Share August 20, 2016 Maybe it's a comfort thing, but I'm really tired of seeing outfits with half the butt sticking out like Jorgenson and others are wearing (and this goes for other sports as well). I think the outfits with the longer shorts that some of the women are wearing look much better. Anyway, congrats to her. 3 Link to comment
selkie August 20, 2016 Share August 20, 2016 Probably a heat thing- minimize the amount of wet lycra/spandex that is trapping water next to the body where it unable to evaporate and cool you properly. Yay Gewn! Link to comment

SnoGirl August 20, 2016 Share August 20, 2016 I am so excited for Gwen! I don't think there's a dry eye in Wisconsin after that finish. And her interview afterwards just brought those tears back. Congrats Gwen!!!! 1 Link to comment
Valentine August 20, 2016 Share August 20, 2016 I loved the men's triathlon. The Brownlees are amazing. I cracked up when Alistair dropped the f bomb and Al said, "Well, that's one way to put it." He was so deadpan. Al drives me nuts with his gymnastic commentary, but I didn't think he was so bad at the men's triathlon. I haven't watched the women yet. Link to comment
sereion August 20, 2016 Share August 20, 2016 Yay, Gwen!!! First US gold in the Triathalon! This is HUGE for USAT! Way to go! 2 Link to comment
SophiaD August 21, 2016 Share August 21, 2016 Al really shines with triathlon. You can tell he both understands and really loves it. When I still had Universal Sports, I used to watch Ironman reruns, just because I enjoyed the balance between the race and the backstories so much. Congratulations, Gwen! Link to comment
Gulftastic September 4, 2016 Share September 4, 2016 Leeds' own Brownlee brothers did it again. I bet their Mum has asked Alistair to let Johhny win one. I love that the first flag that Alistair grabbed as he crossed the line was a Yorkshire flag. Link to comment
