WendyCR72 May 14, 2016 Share May 14, 2016 Second to last episode of the season: While responding to a call of shots fired at a family residence, Lindsay and Halstead discover the only survivor is the youngest daughter who is traumatized. While Lindsay and Dr. Charles evaluate the girl and see if she can help identify the killer, Antonio and Olinsky look into a pyramid scheme "self-help" group for potential suspects. Meanwhile, Platt tries to make the case to Commander Crowley for Burgess and Roman to remain partners. Link to comment
Greytrunner May 19, 2016 Share May 19, 2016 This episode was awful. I cannot seriously be the only one that is tired of Lindsey Sue. She has the worst backstory, everyone loves her, only she can save the little girl. Blech, I'm bored with her and this show. 1 Link to comment
Mamarazzi May 19, 2016 Share May 19, 2016 I hated it too. I wasn't cohesive at all - it was so all over the place. I watched it about an hour ago and I can't remember why the guy killed the family, or even if we saw him earlier in the episode. And I love the cage, but really people? Electric shock? So disappointed. 1 Link to comment
MissLucas May 19, 2016 Share May 19, 2016 Eh, I just thought 'Thank God this is not Chicago Fire - otherwise Lindsey would pull a Gabby, tell the aunt and uncle to get lost, badger CPS to hand over custody to her and strong-arm Jay into becoming Molly's foster-dad'. The stupid surrounding Burgess and Roman is starting to spread. I was with Crowley when she she told Burgess that this was a dictatorship and then asked Desk Sergeant Platt what the hell she was thinking pushing this on that very day. Not only were there more pressing matters to deal with but Roman had not even been cleared for going back on patrol. And I'm okay with Roman leaving if he takes Burgess with him. 7 Link to comment
MakeMeLaugh May 19, 2016 Share May 19, 2016 That little girl was just amazing. The storyline re Horizon was pretty convoluted and made no sense, plus imo pretty pathetic reason for the perp to take out almost the whole family of someone he was pissed off at. Can Roman be a detective if he can't be a patrol cop? I know he can be a firefighter since those guys all have some serious injury that magically was cured (Severide's shoulder?) or is in limbo (Casey's cervical vertebrae) but they're still climbing ladders and hauling heavy equipment. But yeah, go to San Diego and drag Burgess with you. I'd like to order more Mouse for the next season. 7 Link to comment

In the Law & Order universe Trial By Jury had a DA's detective Hector Salazar, Brisco's partner before Jerry Orbach's death, who was not physically able to continue with the NYPD. Real life I don't know especially with Roman taking 75% disability unless a friend at Chicago Med steps in. Edited May 19, 2016 by Raja Link to comment
MissLucas May 19, 2016 Share May 19, 2016 Yes, the girl was without a doubt the best thing about this episode. And while I don't have the same strong feelings about Lindsey that I have about Gabby I would really like to see more episodes focusing on Atwater, Mouse and Jay. (Olinksy had the teenager daughter drama that still lingers and Ruzek needs to recover from the Burgess mess so I don't mind them being benched for a while.) 4 Link to comment
Watermelon May 19, 2016 Share May 19, 2016 The little girl who played Polly is the same girl who played the creepy ass child on The Whispers (ABC). She plays damaged quite well. 5 Link to comment
Sandman May 20, 2016 Share May 20, 2016 Oliver Platt is clearly the franchise player of the Chicago trilogy (I'm sure he'll be frequently called to the stand in Chicago Justice, too). Dr. Charles' role in the episode didn't turn out to be as central to the (admittedly scattered) story as I thought the previews implied, but it would seem that NBC is getting a strong positive response to him. 4 Link to comment
sinycalone May 20, 2016 Share May 20, 2016 I had no problem with Lindsey trying to work with the girl. I don't think any of her co-workers would have had any success breaking through her fears, etc. The probably would have intimidated her to the point where she would communicate with no one. Story was kind of muddled....the father evidently was a piece of work, but it was not made clear just how bad he might have been. 2 Link to comment
Kel Varnsen May 24, 2016 Share May 24, 2016 Not a bad episode, although why did they have a scalpel in the psych ward? I like Lindsay better than Gabby from Fire. Plus they would never give perfect Gabby a story arc where she went on a self-destructive drug bender. 2 Link to comment

More likely is that Chicago Law and Order needs a stand in for Doctors Olivet and Skoda until one is cast. And for a crossover character his field gives the instant easy for being there many different types of stories, sort of like most teacher characters on TV teach history or social studies so they have a built in reason for their classroom to shift the the cultural and political issues of the day. MakeMeLaugh May 24, 2016 Share May 24, 2016 Dr Charles really doesn't do much on Med imo--he doesn't see his own patients, he just steps in as needed to drive a storyline. I could see him being the Oliver/Skoda on Justice too. 1 Link to comment
Sandman May 25, 2016 Share May 25, 2016 (edited) I agree Charles is the easiest swing character to move among the various Chicago volumes -- but I would be surprised if someone else is cast as the Olivet or Skoda. Which doesn't rule out either of Actual Doctors Olivet or Skoda moving to Chicago as Shambala Green has. I wouldn't mind seeing Charles having a more fleshed-out story of his own. Or patients outside of his ED consults. Edited May 25, 2016 by Sandman Link to comment
