Wiendish Fitch December 3 Share December 3 I'm sorry, but I HATE Rachel Zegler's hair in this. That horrible semi-Dutch bob parted in the middle is sooooooo unflattering. Say what you want about animated Snow White, but her hair was ON POINT: the soft, 1930s waves with the cute hair bow can't be improved upon. 2 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/38436-disney-films/page/21/#findComment-8523711
Spartan Girl December 3 Share December 3 And the dress could’ve been better too. I hate that Rachel and Gal are already getting so much crap for this, for different reasons, when the movie isn’t even out yet. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/38436-disney-films/page/21/#findComment-8523827
Trini December 4 Share December 4 Quote It's giving - 'Snow White & the Huntsman' vibes, with 'rally the troops and take the kingdom back'. Did they delete the prince from the story? Yeah, there's a love interest there, who I assume gives the 'true love's kiss', but is he supposed to be the Prince? I do like the little bit of the new song for Zegler that they played. I could nitpick, but overall Snow White and the evil Queen look fine; the problem is that they want to match the costumes to the look from the animated version, and I don't think what looked fine in 2D 80+ years ago looks good on an actual human now. Sorry, not sold on Gadot as the Evil Queen; especially compared to the several better live action versions that have come before her. Not really sold on the CGI dwarves either; but I don't think there was any perfect solution, no matter which way Disney went with them. Probably too late now, but IMHO, if Disney wants this to do well they need(ed) to (make) market this for the kids and family market; not the nostalgia market. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/38436-disney-films/page/21/#findComment-8523947

It makes no sense. It looks like a lesser Etsy creation. I'm sure people had complaints about OG Snow White's pumps, but how are those goofy ballet slippers any better? I feel so vindicated that moderngurlz also doesn't like Rachel Zegler's SW hair. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/38436-disney-films/page/21/#findComment-8527056

Given the casting of Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron in that movie, it also raises the same question: Is Snow White really fairer than the Evil Queen? (Of course, the Huntsman, played by Chris Hemsworth, was arguably just as fair.) If we're talking about beauty both inside and outside, then 'yes.' But if we're talking purely surface beauty, then 'no.' But ymmv. Edited December 7 by tv echo 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/38436-disney-films/page/21/#findComment-8527096
Trini December 8 Share December 8 19 hours ago, tv echo said: Is Snow White really fairer than the Evil Queen? Yeah, mileage varies (they're both pretty). But then they seem to also be using the other meaning of "fair" - as in, 'just' or 'legitimate'. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/38436-disney-films/page/21/#findComment-8527557

Trini December 13 Share December 13 Michael Gracey In Negotiations To Direct Live-Action ‘Tangled’ For Disney Quote Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman) has entered negotiations to direct a live-action Tangled film for Disney, Deadline can reveal. <...> Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, the multi-hyphenate behind titles like Do Revenge, Thor: Love and Thunder and Sony’s upcoming reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer, penned the most recent draft of the script. Kristin Burr will produce for Burr! Productions along with Emmy-winning producer Lucy Kitada (The Baby-Sitters Club). No word yet on casting. I figure the hardest thing to translate from the animated film is Max the horse. And they could probably just have Donna Murphy be Gothel again, but they'd probably cast someone younger and then age them. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/38436-disney-films/page/21/#findComment-8531715

kathyk2 Thursday at 04:32 AM Share Thursday at 04:32 AM Disney+ has a movie debuting next year called Win or Lose. This movie was supposed to feature a transgender character voiced by a transgender girl. Disney dropped the storyline. I hope Disney pays her enough to pay for her college education. 3 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/38436-disney-films/page/21/#findComment-8536517

tv echo Sunday at 12:06 PM Share Sunday at 12:06 PM ‘Subscribers Were Overwhelmed’: How Disney (Finally) Made Its Streaming Business Profitable By Josef Adalian Dec. 19, 2024 https://www.vulture.com./article/how-disney-finally-made-streaming-profitable.html Quote So Moana 2 was going to be a series, but you obviously decided to turn that into a theatrical release. And instead of making the next season of The Mandalorian, you opted to to The Mandalorian & Grogu for theaters. Were either of these tough calls? And what does it say about how you’ve evolved your thinking on your big franchises and streaming originals tied to them? Bergman: These are two particular situations. As we were looking at our Disney animation slate, I felt that Moana 2 would be better served as a movie. And with The Mandalorian, as we looked at our Star Wars slate, we made the same kind of consideration. So it’s really title by title. But for us, looking at our big franchises, there’s nothing like a theatrical release because of the marketing power you get across the world. And because we’re a global service, these titles play everywhere. * * * So that’s a “no” on Disney’s branded films being licensed outside Disney+? Bergman: Not at this time, no. I don’t think it makes sense. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/38436-disney-films/page/21/#findComment-8538432

Say what you want about animated Snow White, but her hair was ON POINT: the soft, 1930s waves with the cute hair bow can't be improved upon. Exactly. I have had a haircut like that, there is no problem with it, but it doesn't go well with the rest of her look or the general look of the movie. Although, the general look of the movie is kind of crap, IMO. Looks like AI or just too much CGI. I want to support Gal Gadot for other reasons, but this movie is not for me. Spartan Girl 22 hours ago Share 22 hours ago So after all these years, I finally found a script draft of what the original Howard Ashman Aladdin draft was. And wow. I already knew about cut characters like the mom, Aladdin’s buddies, and that early Jasmine was a spoiled brat…but I had no idea that that Aladdin winds up with another girl, a fellow street kid/best friend Abbi. Mind blown! Part of me can’t help wondering if Abbi wound up being reincarnated as Sadira in the TV series, what with her Nice Girl tendencies and all. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/38436-disney-films/page/21/#findComment-8539458
