WendyCR72 January 24, 2016 Share January 24, 2016 We have a one-wek break before this one: Lindsay goes undercover in an effort to track down a rogue police officer targeting women leaving a local casino. When Detective Martin Watts, who oversees all cases out of the casino, gets word of the investigation he becomes involved much to Voight's dismay. After recent events, Burgess sets plans in motion to transfer Districts pending Platt's approval, and Mouse attempts to lift Ruzek's spirits by offering to set him up with a friend. Meanwhile, Antonio volunteers to take Roman's place in the upcoming boxing match against Jimmy from Firehouse 51. Link to comment
Mars477 February 4, 2016 Share February 4, 2016 (edited) Would have liked to see more of Erin's undercover operation, but the way it segued into the case of the week was pretty well done. I don't give a shit about Roman, Burgess, or Ruzek. Stop spending screen time on them, please. Actually the contrast kind of highlights how much better the Erin/Jay relationship is. They're no-drama, which is great. Even when Erin broke up with Jay the first time they still could work together and have each others backs. Also, they didn't beat up the black kid! Progress! MissLucas February 4, 2016 Share February 4, 2016 That was really good. Desk Sergeant Platt out on the streets is always great. Amy Morton is doing all sorts of wonders with a character that started out as a one-note battle-axe. And while I don't care for Burgess and Ruzek and their messed-up relationship Erin pointing out to Burgess that 'this' would follow her around and not him was a sobering touch of realism. Douchebag of the episode goes to Olinsky first for not giving even a hint of a warning when Roman and Burgess asked for further info (that was halfway acceptable as they wanted to keep the story under wraps) and then instead of apologizing to them quipped about Roman needing to 'unhurt his feelings'. Dude when Voigt thinks it's necessary to apologize you might reconsider your attitude. 6 Link to comment

I don't mind Roman, but I wish Burgess would transfer and that pouty man-child Ruzek would follow her. I too would much rather see Jay and Erin. Also more Trudy please I love her sarcastic, but soft on the inside character. 1 Link to comment

And then with the entire police department on the hunt for Bug they get sent alone to a hot lead on a girlfriends house. That is how King David got rid of Uriah ( Does Chicago have police helicopters? In LA that ghetto bird would be in a tight orbit around the scene for the hours a search took) Link to comment

Dude when Voigt thinks it's necessary to apologize you might reconsider your attitude. I totally backed Roman when he lit into Voight about not reading them in on the house they were sitting on. But then Voight called him in, gave an explanation and apologized. And Roman was a dick about it. "That it?" He could have least said thanks! or "ok"! A nod even! And then with the entire police department on the hunt for Bug they get sent alone to a hot lead on a girlfriends house. That is how King David got rid of Uriah ( Does Chicago have police helicopters? In LA that ghetto bird would be in a tight orbit around the scene for the hours a search took) Ditto. While we know no one takes backup on CPD, Roman and Burgess KNEW they were knocking at the door of the woman who signed out the cars with Bug. They didn't think that maybe the guy would be there!?!? On the other hand, Roman moving in on Burgess was scummy as fuck. Oh, he wasn't making a move--- I thought he was just trying to make her feel better by telling her his friend (cousin?) thought she was hot. That's what guys do. He doesn't know how to handle weepy Burgess, but he can at least tell her one of his friends thinks she's hot and then maybe she won't be weepy!! (And then, of course, like all big brothers, has to temper it with "I don't know what he sees, but he wants your number.." ) the That's What Guys Do rule is also evident in Mouse's intro: "This is Brynn. She's also licking her wounds." Agree on Erin explaining how it would follow Burgess. Boo to reality. Trudy was great in the RV. And I say that as someone who really disliked her in Season 1. Where's the scene where Erin and Jay apologize to Sam-whose-badge-got-stolen? 1 Link to comment

MissLucas February 5, 2016 Share February 5, 2016 I do think Roman has a cousin who thinks Burgess is hot but I also think his feelings are not entirely brotherly. However I hope they keep any further romantic entanglements for Burgess on the backburner for a while. It does however look as if Roman is about to have a giant chip on his shoulder with regards to the intelligence unit. He was right to be angry but yeah, he could have handled getting an apology from Voight a tad more gracefully. Maybe Voight is cutting him some slack because he knows that the poor guy has had a front seat to the Burgess-Ruzek drama whether he wanted it or not, he! I guess the show will return to that plot and Sgt. Platt will have a thing or two to say about that. 1 Link to comment
Chas411 February 7, 2016 Share February 7, 2016 While Ruzek is acting sad and misses Burgess he hasn't confirmed she was wrong to end it. . He's also isn't trying to get her to take him back so my guess is that while he misses her he also knows that she was right about him not wanting to be on the hook and at least isn't going to be selfish enough to string her along when they ultimately want different things. My biggest issue with Ruzek is why did he propose in the first place and open this can of worms for himself. I like Roman and he could see why he was annoyed at Intelligence for putting them in a tough spot but I do think he should have handled Voight's apology with a little more grace. I also think that he should remember that Intelligence rank above him and he needs to do what they say regardless of whether or not he likes it. 1 Link to comment
Ailianna February 15, 2016 Share February 15, 2016 (edited) It's not just Roman's feelings that were hurt, though. He and Burgess were shot at and could easily have been killed, and the guy who sent them there had information that could have kept them safer. He wasn't "gracious" about Voight apologizing for nearly getting them killed, but then Voight nearly got them killed. Roman handled it a hell of a lot better than I would have. How mad can you be that the undercover unit isn't exactly into spilling secrets and ideas? Actually, yes, Roman has the right to be mad. But that whole "is that it?" Well...What exactly else would there be, except an apology? You want a bonus, a cookie, what? 1 Link to comment
